With all I watch on RU-vid. This is the one show I look forward to. I pour myself a little something, sit down, make myself comfortable and enjoy all you have to offer. Thank you and Happy New Year.
I thank you for being here in 2024! I look forward to your reviews & the banter that arrives with them. Wonderful work, and I wish you both the best , even beyond 2024!
You touched on HiFi magazines in this. Would be interesting to do a Riff on the demise of HiFi World maybe and what it’s like working behind the scenes. Probably a silly idea but could be interesting? HNY🎉
This Yank still has his Radio Shack SPL meter, a Nakamichi cassette deck, and Sony Walkman professional, so as we welcome a new year, some of us enjoy “living in the past” reviewing ancient tech. Thank you & happy new year!
I'm so grateful for your channel! Thank you for being yourselves and sharing your memories, thoughts and (most importantly) your joy with us. Happy New Year!
Happy New Year! I hope 2024 is filled with lots of new videos from you and that you never change a thing! Love from the Colonies I mean States! States!
Hi Jordan - thanks for your kind words across the Pond. Despite the rather abrupt divorce all those years ago, you've done surprisingly well without us! 😎
Hi guys, and a happy new year! I love the shows and your 'so loose its barely connected' style, please just be you 😊. If you want to improve it, a few pictures inserted during the show can help, and many of your shows already have this. Looking foward to more riffs throughout this new year.
That was a very nice Aiwa, one of the first cassette decks I had was the JVC KD-720 with analogue VU's which was also a model that was a similar to the Aiwa.
Fantastic stuff. Loved top trumps. Super cars - if it was the same pack as mine, the 'pinininfarina modulo' was my favourite... Max speed 360 kmh and looked like a lowered Countach, fabulous! Happy New Year!
Happy New Year chaps! You talk about everything we love and I can relate to so many things here. I was the only one in Marlborough to have a Nakamichi CD player in my Nova SR in the very early 90's after moving on from my old Yamaha fizzy! Look forward to seeing the channel grow in 2024 as it's the best hifi channel on youtube!
Happy New Year both. My Dad had one of those Aiwa tape decks; he was burgled and they took it, leaving his Naim Pre/power and the LP12 untouched. Burglars with a sense of style!!
A jam on those two lovely guitars would have been nice. I'm guessing they are not just set decoration? Happy New Year back atcha “Live Long and Prosper"🖖
Good Rift, good title. Puts me in mind of going to a BMC/BLMC event at the BMIHT at Gaydon in the early years of this century. Stayed in a hotel which, rather poncily, named its more upmarket rooms after Shakespeare plays. One of the other attendees managed to bag "Much ado about nothing", and imagined that it was a brilliant homage to Austin (or occasionally "Amalgamated") Drawing Office project codes.
Thanks Robert. I am sad enough to know those Austin Drawing Office codes too, I'm afraid. Don't get me started on the SD1, SD2, etc., Specialist Division stuff...
Happy new year! I’m a fan of the channel. Though I think it’s fairly obvious that you shot this episode on the same day with the Christmas episode. Changing shirts in between could sell it better😀. Or I could be wrong. Cheers!
Good grief. The first day of the year and you've set the bar so high that I fear you might not surpass that in 2024. I had the other, pictured, Casio calculator. It played tones as well. It was so ####ing annoying!
Yes, all downhill from here I'm afraid! Our pal Pete had the calculator watch with the space invaders game on it... we were both insanely jealous! Mike
This channel is pointless!! Their reviews are not expertly detailed, but rather, rely on a subjective score out of 10.. I can do that!! But more importantly, they don’t reply to viewer comments - RUDE !!!
If you take the piss you'll get a reply. This is pub chat about things we can't afford anymore due to our kids in higher education. Chill out and happy new year!
If they were doing "detailed reviews" it would be boring. Many of us, if not most, are here for the chat and banter as much as for comments on the equipment. Keep doing what you are doing guys. Happy New Year.
Hi Dean, you may be right, but perhaps not in the way you mean. We just wanted to make a hi-fi RU-vid show that we ourselves would like to watch - one that doesn't take itself too seriously, and needs little if any preparation, as we're both busy boys. As they say, 'other channels are available', if you don't like us. We love answering comments, but again we can only do it sporadically due to lack of time. Our next Riff actually focuses on the past year's comments, by the way. Happy to answer any serious questions you may have about hi-fi, fire away!
