What an amazing occupation! And to think they've been doing it like this for a thousand years!! An extremely difficult way to make a bare living! I had no idea so much sweat went into brick making, and how little reward they get for it. I'm glad you got this interview before the job becomes automated. Ron from Cincinnati
How beautiful that mud is. And how he handles it. He handles the soft mud mix like it is part of him. He's been doing this for so long it is part of him. Amazing how much it is ingrained into his being that he keeps making and mixing even though he makes very little.
I saw in a tv program a few years ago, A guy put up an adobe wall. I thought ho-hum good for you, but then he also plastered it with the same material but you could still see the pattern of the blocks, Man that really made it look good. The home and wall complemented each other really awesome.
Jorge has the touch. Those are really nicely done. Compare these bricks to those made on site in many places in the southwest US and these are far superior
Let me know if I've got this right: The kiln is a temporary structure for firing the sun-dried bricks that the kiln is constructed from. Do the sugar cane fibres + saw dust + straw help it cook, or directly add to the material strength?
How to make mud thick and fermented ? Nice. can i do 5 row will it work ? or 3x2 = 6 What is best season / weather to make Can we make more bigger around 12 inch x 5.5 inch What is best material composition and ration for adobe bricks ? With clay sanf we also use hay shredded and cow dung also here in India
When I become financially rich.... I will move to Mexican and help young children. I will buy bricks from your family... Until then I will do what I can and that is to pray..... I will save this video.
All the more reason to NOT exploit people! @Presidential Suite -- why the idiotic name? And " i see you also changed your comment... funny," Really? How did I change it without having the "edited" notation on my comment? You can see it right here on THIS comment. I also find you calling me "dear" disrespectful. You don't know me!
He said he hops the brick making is hard work. So what it is very important that young men work hard. It makes them proud of themselves. They don't need therapy like Americans. They don't go around shooting people either. Hard work is good for you
When you send out a message please check your spelling and grammar. If they build the wall I hope you will be the first to volunteer to work in the agriculture fields. Be nice or karma will catch up with you in 2018.
+Jorge A. Santana My karma is fine I got exactly what I wanted a change in how government is working .... Note the change in management with the last presidential election....... I've never wished foe bad things for our friends to the south , only that the stay in their own country and make the changes in their own governments that would allow them to prosper... The vegetables will get picked and the grammar police and communists will always be with us. After all we have you right !
Why did the interviewer think it unnecessary to give Jorge a microphone? Some of us DO speak Spanish. Also what did he mean by FERMENTING the bricks? And since it"s adobe, why bake them? It's all very confusing.
Gracias por tus comentarios. Para la próxima espero ser más preciso y explicar "fermentar" mejor. No todos los que ven mis videos hablan español y me alegro que tu si. El ladrillo se necesita "hornear" para que quede más duradero.
I do feel sorry for u because u obviously haven't worked hard. At least u don't sound like it.hard work is healthy. I have met people who haven't worked hard and they have a sense of entitlement and usually are weak mentally as well as physically I really respect people who have worked hard Ps I have been in the trades since 1976
Kevin Harvey I don’t know if your comment is meant for me or the adobe workers in my video, but if it’s me you refer to, then I think you are being extremely judgmental. I worked in the fields with a shirt hoe and realized that education was my way out of this “hard work” and ended earning a Ph.D
Jorge A. Santana not meant for u Jorge just some idiot that doesn't know the value of working hard. I got a trade so I didn't have to work too hard when I got old. Congrats on ur PhD
