Wow guys 100K+ views!! Thank you all soooo much!! Ok, let me leave you with an update: Yoda is now 4 and a half years old, he's got a loving wolfwife and an adorable 1 year old son. Unfortunately even if Yoda is still as cuddly as ever and wants to be pet whenever I approach him, his wolfwife is very jealous and barks me away. Hence the lack of follow up videos. Don't be sad for me, be happy for Yoda!

Canine kiss actually exists and is performed by licking over/into the recipient's mouth. It is a gesture of trust among dogs/wolves since it allows the participants to exchange intimate chemical information.
I also had a wolfdog. Jaws that can crack open the thigh bone of a moose, yet they can be gentle enough not to so much as scratch your skin. My wolfdog and I would play fight. He looked and sounded vicious, but he never so much as tore my sleeve.
Yeah. Lots of animals are very smart. They understand situations, just as your dog knew how to play fight while acting ferociously. It's impressive how they can self-regulate and know precise boundaries. Lots of humans can't even do that!
@@ANSWERTHECALLOFJESUSCHRIST more of that. once i played fight with a dog, he was all ferocious, growling, barking, falling down when i pushed him "hard", but then i lost my breathe, sat on sofa and said "that all, i am tired" and dog without any transition became petable, just like someone clicked switch.
Got a dog like this myself and he does this too, though we do try to control it. We don't mind this behaviour, but other people might. It's already quite a big dog, so people already tend to be distrustful. While he's just the goodness itself.
Its a funny comment, but most wolf dogs like german sheperds or malinois, or wolf dogs are biting the owner playfully. That is how they play. I actually have a german sheperd and shes always biting me, but without whanting to hurt me. Its just a friendly aproach for the owner :)
My Doberman did this. He had huge canines and would sometimes get carried away and nibble too hard. Because of his bite-force, I had to re-direct this play behavior...
It makes me happy to see someone enjoying dog nibbles. I know a lot of people discourage this sort of behavior but you have to remember that dogs don’t have hands. Their mouth is what they used to grasp. Pooch just wants to grab and squeeze you!
@@Sir_Lobo my family crest is fenrir holding his hand in his mouth. I’ve always found it super interesting. Even more interesting is I’m a gigantic final fantasy 7 fan and I have all kinds of fenrir paraphernalia related to FF7 and that was before I was even aware it was my family crest and knew what the story of tyr was.
I've got a real one in Slovakia, he's great with me, but when a junior vet tried to give him a rabies vaccine 3 years ago (the vet having ignored my instructions to muzzle and sedate him) and he nearly bit her arm clean off. I had a hell of a time getting him off her and an ambulance arrived within a couple of minutes, there was blood everywhere. Just be careful, maybe those in the U.S are a little gentler. The originals in former Czechoslovakia, like mine were bread during the cold war to attack and kill NATO soldiers. The vetinary didn't practice again after that. Thankfully my Czechoslovenski Vlciak didn't get put down because the vet ignored my instructions and it was considered that she was negligent. He'd bite the head off a doberman. Their jaws have the power of a wolf's. They are beautiful creatures but again, just be careful, particularly if you see one when visiting Europe.
I had one for 12 years. Basically i grew up with him. He was the best dog/friend. Never agressive toward the family. But if he does not know you and you enter the yard,you would get bitten.
Thought I read somewhere that dogs do this cause of their ancestry to wolves. So it's more dominant in dogs that are part wolves. It's something to do with familiarity I believe.
Always amazed that dogs know how to gauge just the right amount of pressure to not hurt you when doing this. Like, how do they know? My dog has never taken it too far and then had to learn how to back off a little.
@@withstyle9216 or maybe the animal is just intelligent? A lot of animals can sense what you feel, especially a type of dog. Not everything has to do with religion, do your research
It is because of early socializibg with siblings, they learn their bite strenght and how to gentle, take a dog from a bad breeder that doesnt allow that interaction or sells puppies too young and they wont be that gentle.

this is like surprisingly friendly for a wolf dog inless you do this alot wolf dogs arent violent but they are a bit timid with people they dont know but i think that applies to most dogs now that i think about it
What a cute dog. It must've been so adorable as a pup.😁 BTW, my AmStaff does that with her teeth if I let her. I find it annoying, because her teeth hurt my wristbones and also make my skin itchy, but if she's insistent, I'll tough it out for her, because she's such a tame, good girl. She even lets birds and random stray cats eat her food and just watches curiously as they innately understand she can be trusted. Big dum-dum she is. 😁
🔵 Wolves, coyote and fox are very 'Mouthy' when they show affection,... as the result of this predilection, it's best not to encourage in play, they're gonna do it anyway even without encouragement, but they'll do it more-so if you're not careful to help them keep it modulated.

As someone who it happened to, i can confirm. My female wolf had 4 puppies, and one of them just loved destroying my hands. She is also the one we kept and still loves biting my hands, though she became very gentle and doesn't hurt at all.
My friend has a dog like this and didn't explain this behavior to me so I come over one day and the dog full on puts my whole arm in its mouth, not aggressively or painfully, but I was like um... 🤣
