I don't remember where I got this picture record. Perhaps it was a gift.
According to information on the internet, RCA-Victor produced a series of picture records in the early 1930s (possibly only during 1933), with the picture laminated in clear plastic [!] into which the record grooves were pressed. Picture records were more expensive and the Depression made them unaffordable. The idea of putting an illustration on a record disc was revived in the 1940s more successfully.
The waltz, "Adorable", is from the 1933 movie, "Adorable," starring Janet Gaynor and Henry Garat. The story takes place in a mythical kingdom in central Europe and the movie begins with a "Servants' Ball" at a country inn. The two stars dance to the strains of the "Adorable" waltz. The complete film can be found on RU-vid.
"You're so completely adorable!
Is the way to your heart explorable?
Would you enjoy it at all if I
Try to qualify now as we dance?
Answer your dancer, Adorable!
Will this night be divine or deplorable?
You're so completely adorable!
Is there a chance of romance?"
