The Adorama event space is back!
September 5, 2023, will mark our first live demo at the new Adorama Event Space, and with that, we will initiate the space with our very own Seth Miranda as the multi-layered creative that he is beginning with studio photography shots taken using small flash and speedlights.
"Small strobes (mini monolights/speedlights) are super portable, easy to carry in multiples, full of features, and can get you out of a jam when the existing light is not what you want since you are more likely to pack them. Small lights can help you create a small studio setup almost anywhere, and some people seem to think you always need more power. But what if you learned how to get the most out of your small strobes? Everyone starting out has at least one speedlight, or should if you want to learn how to light. This demo is great for people looking to get more out of their existing kit and beginners looking to learn the core principles of flash Photography. From portraits to commercial looks, we're going to create studio looks out of a backpack and see how we can use our environment with strobe as well." - Seth Miranda

About the Presenter:
Seth Miranda's career in photography has been as unique as his images. Having publications under his belt at age 15, he sculpted his lighting technique day and night in the fast-action world of BMX and skateboarding. With experience running the spectrum of all formats of film, experimental/older forgotten processes all the way to today's digital medium, his versatile style has been featured in DigBMX, RideBMX, Juxtapoz, MakeUp Artist magazine and Transworld media publications as well as billboard and print ads for agencies like Deutsch. He has assisted legend photographers like Joe McNally on set and has also been featured in galleries covering subjects such as punk and alternative lifestyles.
Seth has brought his skill set and experience to the studio to masterfully capture every vision and concept thrown at his lens by the Special Effects MakeUp artists in attendance having worked for MUD MakeUp Designory, MakeUp For Ever, MakeUp Artist Magazine, IMATS, and many more facets of the industry. In his quest for mastery, Seth has also pushed his cinema still-style docudrama images outside the realm of photography and into other mediums such as stenciling, resin cast, and screen printing. With an endless drive to push, create, and collaborate it's safe to say his evolution of work has yet to reach its limit.
