I love your take on the classic log reindeer. This kicks things up a notch, with a more proportional neck and beveled cuts for the ears and tail. I find your approach and result a "cut above" the others I've seen. I'm planning to make a set for my small shaded woodland garden. Thank you for the inspiration! Oh! I almost forgot. The elf segment is priceless. :)
I used standard #8 - 2 1/2 and #8 - 3" deck screws (drill bit 1/8"). I also used a 1/2" drill bit for the tail and 1/2" round wood dowels cut in 2" lengths. Legs are around 24" long and 2" in diameter and I drilled 2" holes in the reindeer body to attach legs. Body is around 20" long and approx. 8" in diameter, head is 10x6", tail and ears are 2" in diameter.
