You were as excited as I am now!! My boat is definitely floated! Ooh, what have you done, you wretches! It's now a definite no 1 for me. I had thought of the upping and downing bed but, hey, what's a longer bed between friends. A very enjoyable video. Both of you really shocked it to us! Great stuff. Thank you so much. All best wishes and to our 4-legged missing friend! Pam xx
Great video as always guys, stunning van, really like the interior finish and the rear garage space when the beds are folded up….but my god is that expensive. The £13k option list is all standard equipment on the GC. Picked my 600 up 3 weeks ago and even spec’d with solar, diesel heater, various driver packs including Blind spot detection etc I’m £32k cheaper than this. That’s before you look at the 5 year + pack included on GC……VW value for money lol, not often we can say that 😂
VW certainly are being competitive on their GC at the moment with the discounts, finance deals and 5yr packs that they are doing. Who knew the OEM VW option would be the value choice!?!
I was expecting to be very impressed when you said it was 6.8 metres, However I finished up being quite disappointed, Compared with our Malibu Van Charming, which is based on the Ducato, it seemed much narrower and the toilets was much smaller. Our Malibu is only 6.36 metres but seems much more generous in terms of size and the design of the bathroom is much better giving a more generous space for showering because the toilet slides out of the way under the bunk.
Unfortunately i think the price of campervan's have gone sky high in the past four years , which is putting the price beyond most people ,sadly I purchased my first VW California Coast in 2018 here in Ireland and it was €50k , Now the cost of a VW Beach in Ireland is just touching €70k And the Ocean is in The €90 + Crazy , But thanks for another great review of this beautiful Adria 680 , its a great looking van 😊
I can’t help thinking how much space you lose to have a permanent sleeping facility. Also, the space you lose to have a toilet/shower , really does compromise the galley are space. My wife would hate it. We have a Volksleisure VW Camper on a short wheelbase Transporter and we have a much more spacious feeling “living” area than a 7 metre long vehicle. The living space becomes so important when camping in the UK and Ireland. Days can be spent when you’re confined to the van because of bd wether. I just can’t see the advantage in the extra size of vehicle. Difficult to park in towns, or on narrow roads. Is it just me or am I missing something. I do enjoy your videos so this isn’t a criticism of you guys.😊
I'm sure it just depends on what kind of usage the van is getting. We like to do a lot of pub stopovers, which means that an off grid shower, toilet and fixed bed is really great for us. Touring around and having days stuck in the van then space and seating comfort is important but for us we don't tend to do that very much. It's just great that there are so many layouts and van types for everyone to choose from.
When any camper grows beyond a 5.4 metre van, you find it extremely difficult to park in car parks and at attractions and therefore you are stuck at the camp site if you don't use cycles or public transport, which kind of defeats the object - too big ! Better getting a caravan and a car or a reasonably sized campervan to pull a caravan or solo
There's a world of difference between a 6m van and a 6.4m van, IMO. We (family of three) hired a 5.4m Burstner van last Summer (Citroen badge, FIAT platform) and it was hugely compromised inside for lack of those extra 60cms. In the end campervanning is about what compromises you're prepared to make and what your objectives are. Not everyone is the same!
wow, We have the 640 Sgx on a 22 plate. Fully loaded with all packs including, TV and full AC. Leather, uprated Engine, etc etc and no so great spec in the Man and £35k dearer. Woodwork is dated and dont look like there is much extra room tbh, where the other 400mm gone?? Not for me im afraid.
Shame about the oven being on mains only, missed the boat there, WildAx Altair is the way forward, ditch the gas, have a good sokar, battery setup with a good inverter. On this model you can’t go off grid
I'm not sure you can say that you can't go off grid in this - it just might not be able to go off grid for long periods at a time. I'm not personally that fussed about a gas-less van but I can see that they are becoming more popular.
Great overview. Looks to be a fantastic van. But you guys are buying a Westfalia product and the Columbus 600E is a very similar spec and only 6m long. At £85k the Columbus is a lot better value. Only thing is you need the Remoska that you tested a few weeks ago as it doesn’t have an oven. Once you have one of those - problem solved.
Great vid again... thanks, you two! I really like the vans Adria are making at the moment. But I cant help seeing a superhero mask as the rear door graphics (in the film at 8 minutes).... help! I hope you are getting closer to having your Westfalia delivered! Best Wishes Tim
It's a lot of money, that's for sure. I'm not sure it is down to Adria though, when you look at the cost of the base van options and how much they cost. The MAN TGE configurator is an eye opener!
Great overview - thanks! - quality is of course far superior to our smaller (but much much cheaper!) Elddis CV but not sure the practicality/useability is massively better ?
I'm sure they could easily install non-Gas appliances (if they want the custom!?!?), such as an induction 2-ring hob. Here's hoping anyway. I wish.......
We looked at this at the nec and was excited to see an adria on a man van… adria do nice stuff .BUT…its very expensive with that 13k pack is crazy money… I have honestly struggled to find anything as good as our Westfalia sven that’s not a custom built van .
These vans seem a bit backwards on the electrics. 200amh but AGM. That's not much. Then an oven which can only work on hookup.... People using these may only be on sites rather than off grid, but that doesn't mean you will get a hookup. Doing the NC500 for example you may not get a hookup pitch unless book in advance. Yes - might be able to live with it....but scratch beneath the nice exterior and see where money is saved....on a 112k van!
Thanks - Very detailed and interesting tour but meh...... was absolutely thinking this was going to be another dull beige van but actually was quite surprised that it looked better inside than I expected....BUT, too many really poor spec choices for that money IMHO and why is the sliding door on the wrong side again so you step into the road in the UK? Nothing on there that even makes me question anything on our van order - crap battery option, bathroom looks appalling and actually impossible to use, very limited kitchen storage for such a large van, what the heck is that stupid kitchen surface extension that has to be stored at the back if a cupboard that would be full, and that hob/sink unit means no flush worktop that would be there with an induction hob and quality sink. No options means still have to have only gas. I could go on but I really think manufacturers need to get with it when it comes to electrics, lithium, induction options etc etc. Keep up with these van tours please as every one makes me more and more pleased with our choice of the CJL that will be totally custom and delivered in 2 months!
Lovely van but £112K and no lithium..... probably only get a couple of days off grid maximum. That shower is too much of a compromise, better to have a single wet room with elbow and knee room.
Hmmm I don't like this at all the design just isn't right that bathroom is awful and the interior looks dated not for me we want a slightly bigger van than our T6 but the prices are insane the one I like the most is the Sven Hedin but again the price is eye watering!
