A must watched video, hear Adrian Cronauer do the "Good Morning Chant" from Good Morning Vietnam. Robin Williams portrayed Adrian in Good Morning Vietnam! Adrian Cronauer stopped by Camelback Jack's show on 94.5 KOOL FM in December 2008.
TRUE STORY: I'm in southern Spain on vacation, I'm 60, staying at a hostel and I'm up on the rooftop "lounge" passing a guitar around. And talking. A 40 year old guy from London tells me I sound exactly like Adrian Cronauer. Who ?? He tells me who he is. I don't know how this person knew of him or his voice well enough to pick up on the fact that he though I sounded so much like him. One day a few weeks after coming home I Wiki Adrian C. What jumps out at me was he was born in Pittsburgh PA. That's where I was born and where I'm typing this. Never thought I had that strong of a Pixburgh accent. For what it's worth.................
Well, I can kinda sorta relate to you. I was working one evening at our local truck stop, when one of my supervisors said, "Hey- I didn't know you love serial killers!" HUH? She showed a a cover of a paperback book about women who love serial killers. That woman looked just like me!!!! WOW!
Bloody Hell. I googled what I thought was just a character in a movie, in order to spell it correctly. Here I find the REAL MAN. Amazing! That's awesome and sad for me at the same time. As a vet, AMAZING EFFORT by MR. Cronauer! Sad for me that I didn't know of him and his efforts to help the troops. SALUTE SIR....salute.
A Baller not true, he had the radio show and everything. He even said “Goooooooooooooooooood morning Vietnam!” It’s just Robin Williams added much more of his fun humour to it. Do some research.
Check out my memoir, "Saigon Kids, An American Military Brat Comes of Age in 1960's Vietnam" for a some perspective on the founding of AFRS Saigon and the creation of "The Dawnbuster Show" which Cronauer made famous
Adrian Cronauer would have been great as a football (soccer) commentator... Gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooal!
Andy Roman who’s to say that he didn’t try? But no matter how good an actor he was, Williams probably just didn’t have the lung power to sustain it as long and deeply as the the original Croanauer.
@@matthewcardoza1190 between the cocaine ( not judging as I myself did it in my younger years ) and the fact he was a heavy smoker until his heart surgery, possibly not
His last, "GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD Morning, Vietnam!" Strangely reminded me of "Booger" in the burping contest scene in "Revenge of the Nerds"! LOL!
In the beginnin it was Armed Forces Radio Service AFRS -- when TV was added it became American Forces Viethan Network AFVN. AFRTS American Forces Radio and Television Service is the big agency that has overall responsibility for the services world wide
Please add AFVN and American Forces Vietnam Network into your key terms. This is the station that Adrian Cronauer served with in Vietnam. Thanks, Bob Morecook AFVN News 72/73
