I am a sinner...saved by grace. I am saved because of what Lord Jesus did before the Cross, at the Cross and after the Cross. I have been washed by His pure blood. I strive for holiness. Satan the accuser is constantly at work trying to take me away from Lord Jesus. But I have victory with Lord Jesus, I am an overcomer..praise His holy name. Amen
This is one of the best and most Biblically accurate messages on how to keep in fellowship with God that I've ever heard. There's a lot of false teaching going around on some of these same verses at this very moment. Dr. Adrian Rogers got this 100% right. This passage is about how to stay in fellowship with God our Father. The forgiveness here is not for salvation as a lost sinner but for our sanctification as a saved saint. It's not being forgiven judicially for our sins but forgiveness and cleansing from our heavenly Father when we as God's children commit sins and get out of fellowship with Him. This tells us how to get back into fellowship and how to stay in fellowship. If you get this wrong you will miss one of the main points of First John and it is an extremely important one too!!!
We too, as Christians, should follow this apostolic example. We should recognize the grace that God has given to others, and extend to them the "right hand of fellowship.
I love the wisdom of Pastor Rogers and I listen to his sermons quite often. There is no doubt he was an exceptional man of God. He has fed me from The Word, by the direction of the Holy Ghost, time and time again.....but, there is a comment in this sermon that does trouble me. Pastor said "there is no sin the blood of Jesus will not cover, or that we cannot be forgiven of if we ask", but read Matthew 12:31. Jesus said that there is one sin that will not be forgiven, blaspheming The Holy Ghost. When Jesus speaks, I listen.
The context of that verse was Jesus spoke it while on earth to people, especially the religious leaders, who had seen His miracles and heard His words and attributed what Jesus did to Satan/the devil or demonic spirits. That was blasphemy of the Holy Spirit who convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. The gospel of John opens with one of the saddest verses in the Bible: “He came unto His own (the Jewish people/Israel), but His own received Him not.” The Jews, but not all, rejected their Messiah as foretold so that we Gentiles might be a part of God’s plan of redemption. Romans chapters 9-11 explains this plan. One day Jews/Israel will repent and see their Messiah when the world’s nations turn against them and seeking to destroy them. We see the world stage being set for this now, but Jesus will remove His Church first. Maranatha!
Many quote people think they preach ? But this mat preaches and he's straight as it comes believe Jesus was this bold , yet many teachers say Jesus was a mild matter wimp ! Far from the truth
I don't like how they put an ad for a "free book" in the middle of the sermon, and then cut off the prayer at the end. The way they used to do it was better. Put your "free book" message at the very beginning or end, and include the closing prayer.
I Wish the precious Lord could give us back Pastor Rogers. This World needs great preachers so desperately right now and he and Billy Graham are very much missed right now. The World needs old time calm and level headed teaching based in the Gospels.

James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, when they recognized the grace which had been given to me, extended to Barnabas and me the right hand of fellowship..." (Galatians 2:9
Double standards in the church will affect fellowship. Stop zoom prayer meetings with the reason that people need to come in person to meetings then introducing a zoom bible study.
