I responded to your comment knowing exactly how trauma is repressed, and to make you aware of how dismissive it can be when society fails to honour the distinction between abuse and sex. Even if she repressed memories of abuse during her exploitive childhood, she could’ve never consented which means she never had sex, making her claims of virginity fair and in her right. To disclaim that by bringing up what could have happened to her takes away her autonomy and reduces her only to her victimhood. Comments like this in society lead people into my office, feeling trapped by a past they’d much rather overcome. You could’ve held her parents accountable for exploitation without diminishing her self identification. Please be mindful of what you say.

Well, Brazil is a Christian country mostly Catholic but, there are people who are more Catholics than others; that being said, we also have candomble (afro religion)and others religions due to our mixed race country. I, for example, am half indigenous, half Spanish.
