adrianne is an angel, she knows that life is a gift and is able to articulate life into words like nobody i have ever known, she is the most talented and heartfelt singer and songwriter i have ever and will ever come across, she is so unbelievably beautiful
Yeah how is this possible? I’m a recent convert to Big Thief and to her, and I can believe she’s 30 now. That’s shes even this good back this many years blows my mind. Some people just have that radiance, so very rare.
I've played lots of these "outdoor series" shows here in Minneapolis. It's such a strange feeling. You'll spend hours or days working on a new song, and when you play it for folks while they go about their day, it feels like it just evaporates. Nobody who is walking to catch a bus or get a bite to eat is expecting to engage with a song they've never heard before, and most people don't share the same taste in music, so what little attention you get is usually surprising. Adrienne is younger than me, but I feel some kinship with her here, and it feels good to know that songwriters I admire have done these kinds of "shows" too and received similar reactions from passersby.

One time decades ago a friend of mine saw The Violent Femmes playing on a street corner in Greensboro N.C. I've done my share of busking and some days I'd reach people and walk with a couple hundred bucks other times I'd feel lucky to walk away at all. Especially when the isolated church folks came down out of the hills for their monthly restock of booze. One day i was playing in Yadkinville N.C. and a woman walking by took one look at me and started crying and screaming for her husband like I was going to attack her on the street in broad day light. He came running up like I was one of those fake street punks from the Deathwish movies. I told him she needed therapy if seeing a musician playing guitar on the sidewalk hit her like that. He was like "Well you don't exactly look normal!" I said "NORMAL PEOPLE DON'T FREAK OUT WHEN THEY SEE OTHER PEOPLE!"
I haven't known of her for very long. I was really missing out. She's incredible,! I love her gifts! Thank you so much for the way your music moves me Adrianne! Live long and happily, I hope you are doing well. Bless your heart and may love fill your heart, your an awesome soul!!
looks like most comments are from 2020 and 2021. Everyone having the time is finding all the good shit. This page has felt like a place in my life for the last 5 years. I really hope more people keep coming and sharing their love for Adrian. She is so amazing.

Those 2 women off to the right seem to be put off by the music...at one point rolling their eyes and shaking their heads as if to say." Ugh...why do we have to hear this on our lunch break?". The side eye shade from the woman in black on her cell phone is an energy really out of place- Adrienne's music - you can tell - just really isn't her jam.🎵🎶🎼🎤👧🏻🎸 👂🏾👀👂🏾🙅🏾
