Honestly, the fact that Adrien’s two identities act so different the majority of the time really reflects upon the state of his mental health. He literally uses CN as a coping mechanism and as of S4, it’s not really working so he’s miserable but he pretends not to be yada yada. I just watched the first two eps of S5 today, and he’s back to using it as a coping mechanism. The show REALLY needs to address Adrien’s mental health. Like, Marinette too, but his case is so much more severe and less obvious I feel like it needs emphasis. When I first watched the show as a young child, I didn’t notice much. However, after rewatching as a teen who had turned into a psychology nerd sometime along the way…I had this major lightbulb realization that Adrien is horribly messed up internally.
