When I say I put this video on pause and ran to my ADT panel....!! That thing has beeped for about 2 months and now, after pressing one button, my life is peaceful again. THANKS!!
Don't just "press" the chime button....press and HOLD until the readout changes. If it doesn't say what you want it to say, "Chime OFF", then press and HOLD again, until it does say what you want.
THANK YOU!!! just moved into a new house with this alarm and have been going crazy with the movers moving the old owners out. Hubs was about to rip the unit out of the wall. Tried the chime button originally cuz.. it says CHIME, but was pressing it too quickly. they key as you showed in the video is to keep it pressed til the message comes up. amazing that they couldn't give you that simple instruction for so long! >.
Thank you so much for posting your video. This worked perfectly on my alarm unit. I'll actually be able to get a good night's sleep without being disturbed by the beeping.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Have been listening to that danged alarm chirp every thirty seconds all day long; a push of the chime button like you recommend put an end to that. You rock!!!
It's just awesome to have you doing videos again. I have ms and you inspired me to pick the guitar up again about a year ago or so ago. Take care of yourself brother.
There are some ADT key pads where you must press the (#) key then press "CHIME" or "9", like mine to activate/deactivate the chime feature. Thanks for the direction though.
Thank you! I just tried it & I hope this works for me. My system is no longer in use, but keeps on beeping. I tried calling ADT, but they told me I’d need to remove the battery, which is easier said than done!
Thank you very much. The chime which was going off was not even for the door, it was due to a fixture on the wall blinking red but it still shut down the chime.
I have a key FOB. if I leave the house, should it all work again? Am a musician also & finally, unplugged the thing. I think you just saved me a lot of money. Thank you. Hope it works.
You are soooooo welcome. It drove me nuts for a couple of years. lol Nothing in the manual and the support team was of no help. Enjoy your silence again! Cheers.
This is such an easy thing to do and should have been explained in 30 seconds by ADT phone support or website user guides. I knew that ADT has HORRIBLE reviews all over the internet, but this type of deliberate misleading of its customers seems like a good class action law suit. The best thing for everyone to do is make sure everybody knows what type of company ADT is. Thanks to wireless, smart phones, IoT we have many other home security options and don't need old style "fast talking smoke and mirrors sales person" companies like ADT anymore.
I refuse to own a smart phone. I refuse to text (had the option removed from my flip phone). A ton of people are still that way and need some form of alarm without carrying something that will constantly butt dial people or possibly catch fire in my pocket.
Is the Smartphone a privacy or increased cost concern? If you email or Facebook/SocialMedia or use Windows/Mac your privacy is already compromised. But yes, I can see wanting to be off grid as much as possible is desirable, but unexpected from a RU-vid content author.
I can afford anything in the world, which is why I keep such a system and stay at home 100% of ever day armed to the teeth to protect it. I've got to enlarge one guy's butt hole by a large amount as he tried to scale a fence after the alarm went off. I love when target practice days present themselves.
I’m going to try this when that dang thing starts it’s incessant beeping tonight. It won’t beep during the day, it only starts that nonsense at night when we’re trying to sleep.😡
Woah 😳 thank you so much for sharing this. We don’t even use the adt system anymore and all kinds of system errors show and beep like crazy. They are so obsolete as a company smh it’s sad but this has made things so much better!
I'm a security tech, here's the user manual for your specific alarm system Scott: cms.dsc.com/download.php?t=1&id=23384. You have a DSC impassa panel. ADT technically manufactures these systems, that"s ridiculous they couldn't help you over the phone. They were probably holding out to charge you for a service call. Anything you might want to know about that system is in that manual.
so i get up and disarm my alarm with my little remote ,,,and it said check system an the box on wall says Battery low so it beeps every 3 minutes ,,,driving me nuts ,,till i can go out later to day to buy battery ,,,will this cut this beep off if i click the chime button ,,,,,and when i replace battery ,,,do i need to click the chime button again ?,,,end yu are right about customer service ,,,i have called serval times in the last few yrs about other things and no help at all ,,dont understan why they dont train their employees more on simple things ,,thank yu
My pleasure Mary. I hear you about training those people better. I think that ADT probably has their employees watch the videos that us normal folks put on RU-vid to help out (if they will watch them). lol I would be able to get you an answer in 10 seconds if I were home to simply go through those things for myself and give you a 100% correct answer. I won't be back for a week or so and my wife doesn't know much about these. Here is one more video I made that I hope helps you: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BEnv4LPsUak.html I wish you luck with it in the meantime!
Thank you. One question though, for example if you turn the chime off and you arm the house with the chime still off and someone breaks in, does it still make a constant ringing like it normally would or would the ringing be silent this time?
Howdy. The system will act as usual when the chime is off. So, the alarm will sound if an intruder comes in and hopefully will scare him off. The chime will still remain OFF after you turn the alarm off. So, you will have to manually have to turn the chime back on before it will work again.
+Stephanie Sanchez Hello. If you push the Chime button on the keypad until it makes a noise and says CHIME OFF, then you can open any door, open any window etc. all day long. It will not go back to making any noises at all until you press and hold the Chime button on they keypad again. Things are finally quiet here once and for all when I want them to be. It's nice to get away from all the beeping. lol Cheers.
Speaker Volume [*] [6] [Master Code] then [] to scroll to "Buzzer Control". Press [*] to select. Use [] to scroll to desired level, then press [#] to select and exit.
www.adt.com/content/dam/adt/downloads/manuals/manual_DSC_9047_UserGuide.pdf, Here is the link to the User manual and all doors and glass breaks etc. are perimeter zones. The chime feature is listed in the end user manual and how to turn on or off.
There's this constant beeping through out the house that's scaring the dog. There's no yellow symbol to notify me of a low battery, so I don't know where it's coming from .. please help
ADT Wants your money every month. But they do not want to lift a finger to help . I spent an hour & 40 minutes on the phone with them trying to get a tech. to my home to replace the battery in the key pad as they would not tell me how to do it.
+clarity023 No problem my friend. I'll have you going in no time. Watch this video and it will fix everything: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BEnv4LPsUak.html Just do what I actually SAY on the video and no need to worry about the text on the screen. You'll be fixed shortly! Thanks.
Howdy. Yes it will. All keypad buttons will still make a beep or noise. So, if you have a 4 digit code....you'll still hear the 4 sounds from those keys, plus any noises associated with setting or disarming your alarm. So, the CHIME button will simply keep all of the sensors in the entire system quiet throughout the time you want it to....but, you'll have to still make some noise to set the alarm at night etc.
i just got mine installed today and the guy told me about that right away you should've complain in the beginning they would've helped you from the start
ADT didn't know to tell people how to do it until I put out this video. That is how it actually happened Sooooooo, they should have given ME credit when they told you about it.. That's kind of how time works.
I actually believe you tho cause my aunt had that same problem like a year ago great video though most people dont get instructed and its nice to have a walk threw what to do when others dont know 👍
LMAO. I'm not sure what you mean by family guy. When I saw it in my email I figured it was a response to the "screwdriver" comment and immediately thought about the dad's chin.
What sucks? That you didn't do it right? If you did, there would be no cops. My instructions are letter perfect. If you messed it up after watching this video......you need to be on the short bus to school.
