I'm a New Zealand woman who was disgusted by how the media and police behaved. They ruined what would have been a great collection of women speakers. It just shows that you are needed more than ever.
KJK is completely right about the Overton Window. She doesn't couch her language, she stays controversial, holding the line, forcing the important conversations to be had, incrementally making life better for women and girls. It's a bloody fearless thing to do. I don't agree on everything, but huge respect is due to her. She may not agree, but to me, she is a feminist hero.
Exactly. Quite a few of us were a bit sympathetic to TIMs years ago ( hardly any TIFs because of course for most it’s a fetish that women don’t have!)and thought KJK was a bit extreme. But she’s actually totally right! And doesn’t call herself a feminist because many of those think it’s ok to badmouth her…..
Yeah this is the only place I feel welcome right now. KJK made a space for all women of any background. I love her, and by extension all of you. Glad to be here working together for a cause we all feel closely.
Last autumn in Seoul Itaewon, in South Korea there was a crowd crush were several hudred young people were killed because they either fell down and were trampled on or suffocated to death by the crowd.. That is what came instantly in my mind when I saw Kellie J. in New Zealand. It was no joke. It was a really serious situation!
The first two verses of Kipling's poem 'If' seem to fit. If you can keep your head when all about you Are losing theirs and blaming it on you, If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you, But make allowance for their doubting too; If you can wait and not be tired by waiting, Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies, Or being hated, don’t give way to hating, And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise: If you can dream-and not make dreams your master; If you can think-and not make thoughts your aim; If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster And treat those two impostors just the same; If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools, Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken, And stoop and build ’em up with worn-out tools:
Was the response Posie Parker got in New Zealand an own-goal for the transgender activists? Intimidation is often very effective, especially when it goes unpunished. They're showing that they have the power, that they can do this and get away with it and institutions and the passive majority who will side with whichever side seems like it is going to win will take note.
There is no reason to believe that the trans nonsense will be sticky and hard to flush away. No reason to fixate on those parents that have put their kids through it. Don't imaging up monsters that don't exist. If you think they will need some kind of exit ramp then create one for them, Otherwise leave them be to sort themselves out once their bubble has burst.
Exactly what I was going to say. She will go down in history asa real heroine. I'm so glad that I have followed her from the beginning. I feel like I'm a part of it and if she makes it to Vancouver, I will be there to fight off the men in dresses.
@bluest1524 Ah someone else here with morals, hello! I’ve already pointed out in comments how, isn’t it interesting many of the so called staunch ‘defenders of women and children’ TERF&Gender critics have instead proven themselves to be absolutely anything but? Clearly they are just incredibly bigoted hippocrits who obviously don’t truly have those protective motivations whatsoever! This OP ‘Mother matriarch’ is another one, she only popped up on recommendation RU-vid. I don’t follow her anymore but saw her on twitter. A Vile individual from the start, insinuated all Muslim immigrants are welfare scrounging recipients!! She said this so bold faced as if Muslims hadn’t any reason to be protesting against Zionism, ah these witches make me sick! Obviously these guys as well as glinner, Helen Joyce, Rowling etc are just fuelled by Islamophobia that must indeed be stronger than their concern for safeguarding children, who are literally getting slaughtered and the women who are forced to give birth with no pain relief . No words. Shame on these individuals esp those fellow Irish ones, shameful inconsistent clowns ! It does also raises the question to who exactly are funding these outspoken individuals/groups? Tommy Robinson was funded by certain groups iykyk On the bright side this can all be seen as a good thing because clearly they’re morally bankrupt and I know not any character I’d want to associate myself with! Anything else they say is null and void, doesn’t matter if they’re right, you cannot pick and chose when genocide is wrong/right. & I’m not the first gender critic who has come to realise this btw. Many do, are disgusted and won’t ever associate with any of these individuals again ! We aren’t the first or the last Just evil really
Louise, just when I think your podcast can’t get any better, you go and have KJK on! This is wonderful. My book club just read your book, btw, and it was one of the best discussions we’ve ever had. Thank you (and Kelly-Jay) for all that you do. 💕
I’m fascinated by the new wave of fearless british women who have a perspective about feminism that doesn’t align with the one that is promoted everywhere. Louise is a great host because she’s a good listener but also has really thought-provoking analysis as well.
These women are used to having their complaints listened to and having other people comply with and enforce their wishes. They seldom sold hear the word - no!
KJk is speaking wrds and allowing women to speak who I agree with most of the time. I'm glad she is doing what she does and fully support her. #LesbianNOTqueer
Louise, thank you for this episode. If you are brainstorming for new guests, I’d suggest an interview with Bridget Phetasy. Her piece about your book was great.
I’m a big fan of Kellie-Jay Keen and have been to many of her Let Women Speak rallies, which isn’t to say I agree with everything she says but I do on the ones that are fundamental to women’s sex-based rights.
I admire her courage and tenacity. I must say I'm skeptical of the idea that more women on councils (etc) will lead to more anti-trans-agenda policy. If that were the case, the teaching profession (which is majority female) wouldn't be as pro-trans as it is. Same for the Psychology field. One striking thing about the trans movement and the LGBT rainbow movement more generally is that is has more female - particularly young female - than male support. So it's not just women those councils need but the right sort of women. Ones like Kellie. EDIT: Oh, this was addressed later in the interview. Good stuff.
I really enjoy your interviews Louise and I'm still catching up on ones I've missed. Kellie-Jay really respond so well to good interviewers and I just can't get enough of her inspiring way of speaking truth to power. Because of that she gives strength to women who, for years, haven't had the support and belief to say how they feel! There is a ground swell of support which will only grow now. Thanks to both of you for a fascinating hour plus!
KJK is wonderful and is not on a brave journey, sick making comment. She has taken on the Trans bullying and its supporters head on. I truly feel after Glasgow the tide has turned.
One thing I will also say, why are some of these interviews making comments on Kelly’s looks hair and make up!? Men who are interviewed aren’t ever asked these same questions!
Do they though? Will it happen? It goes to show even when women want to focus on very serious issues, their looks always get dragged into the conversation!
I think it's more relevant in KJK's case; she has a very striking look and it impacts her whole campaign plus makes her more recognisable which impacts her private life
It was one woman interviewing another woman who bright up her looks. There isn’t a man anywhere near this 1 hour plus podcast. Stop blaming men for everything.
It was said women should speak for women not men. Yes but this ,as said , is an issue of truth. This fiction will destroy all rational debate if it is accepted as a truth. When I speak out against the fiction that a biological man can become a woman I see it as defending factual reality when I say no a biological man can never be a woman. I also glad thar the grooming ,or rape , gangs were mentioned. These are not just women's issues but societal ones. I have great admiration for women like Maryam Namazie and Kelly Jay Keen who do not need men to speak for them but I do think we have a complimentary role. I wish more men would stand by to help facilitate the right of women to speak as it is in society's interest as a whole.
Kelly you’re gorgeous and look just like Marilyn Monroe only not a tragic manipulated Marilyn but a Pocket Rocket! I’m 5’2” and blonde too and I’m feisty like you. You’re doing the best work! You’re a Queen!
I think women are females and men are males, simple. However, when the women's movement in the 80's and 90's were invading male spaces like gentlemens clubs, male golf clubs etc where men wanted their own space...where did you think this was going to end up. Who would have guessed about the trans movement back then. Men want their own space, females want their own space. If you invade another person's space don't be surprised about the law of unintended consequences.
If its any consolation, I didn't even know Posie was coming to NZ (I live in NZ) until the trans lobby decided to kick up a fuss. From a publicity perspective it was a spectacular own goal...
I live in Australia and embarrassed by the danger you faced on your visit to Victoria. The state is a basket case. The government is run by a bully boy who took great delight unleashing his riot police on anti lockdown protesters. Batons, shields, mace and rubber bullets were the weapons of choice. Sadly, it was no surprise those same forces were not used to protect adult human females in the face of violent male thugs. As a son, husband, father and grandfather to the many women in my life I salute your bravery.
What’s a trad wife vs a wife? As far as I’m aware the trad wife is viewed more as what religious people preach, where women are seen as holding a complementarian role in a home where the husband leads & the wife respects his leadership role. I view my role in my marriage as an equal partner; where each partner contributes the skills they’re good at and the tasks neither likes are evenly distributed & even rotated. KJK’s marriage sounds more like mine than a trad wife.
The irony of the cartoon is that Georgina Beyer I believe would never have supported the disgusting bullying from the trans activist. She was a respectful trans sexual who always said she was born a biological male who became a transexual. She never called herself a woman. These TAs do not know the truthful history. Such a shame that Georgina who recently died was not around to share some common sense. I was at the Auckland rally with my 2 sons and husband and saw the appalling bullying from the frenzied TAs. Just so relieved that the TAs showed violence and that it didn't accidently happen the other way round, especially as the pro women men supporters could really loose it. My own son grabbed a saucepan of a TA when it was being banged in his ear. But he stayed peaceful.
I'd never heard of her but your comment made me go look. "she refuses to label them as ‘TERFS’ (Trans Exclusionary Radical Feminists). “I think that term is derogatory, I prefer not to use it. I don’t think that’s the way to go about it, it’s adversarial and that’s not good. It’s not a good platform on which to start intelligent debate and discussion.” It sounds like they completely misrepresented her "spirit". Presumably because she had nuanced opinions and didn't just go along with the crowd.
Totally appreciate this woman. We're just living here in Idaho homeschooling our kids and trying hard not worry too much about the world around us that's falling apart. I'm a gen Xer that grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, moved to the Bay Area of California and started to raise kids there and its really weird to see the mind virus of liberal illogical ideology take people's minds over.
So clear and uncompromising in her stance. She has her objectives/goals front and center at all times. I very much admire her. Thank you, Louise, for bringing this interview and for managing it so deftly. You allowed a less brash, more thoughtful KJK to be seen and heard.
First time I’ve seen Rosie and heard her views. I’m deeply opposed to the medical transitioning of pre-adolescent kids - especially the gitls being affected by the social contagion being fuelled by ultra-woke activists. But there’s something - and I can’t accurately describe what it is - that turned this East End born, many-decades politcal and environmental activist off her the more she spoke. Completely the opposite reaction that I had with Helen Joyce whom I warmed to the longer the interview went. I’d be interested to know if anyone else felt the same. I can still vote in UK elections (I’ve dual Australia/British citizenship) and not in a pink fit would I vote for a single issue political party. I want to know how they’d vote on *every* issue. That’s why I didn’t support the single issue Climate Change party when they ran candidates here in Australia some years ago. Despite combatting climate change being my main focus, none of that party’s candidates could tell me anything about their voting intentions on other issues. Not good enough to for them to get my support and I won’t support Rosie’s party for the same reason, even though I’m concerned about the effect natal males claiming to be women will have in so many areas of women’s lives and safety.
for one it doesn't mean saying NOT ALL MEN when a woman tells you yet another harrowing story of the rape and violence against a woman or child. "That's horrific" would be a more appropriate response, or "how can I help" instead of immediately running to the defense of the reputation of men with NAM.
Hey Dave, After what happened in New Zealand the men came up with #StandByYourWomen. It could be something you could be part of in your area? It's appreciated as the Trans Rights activists and Anfita tend to be mainly men. It may given them a reason to back off.
I wish Triggernometry and Louise Perry would guest host on each other's shows, these are becoming my two favorite shows. Btw this show could use a set, if you have the funds or can do it on the cheap, it could add another element to have in-person conversations some place.
I think most people would love to be more confrontational but have their reasons not to be. People like Posie Parker give a voice to the silent mass and theirefore are loved by them and hated by the confrontational people of the other side of the argument.
It's very common apon coming to Australia that customs hold people up for two hours. It has happened to me multiple times. They are also very unfriendly and treat you as an automatic criminal. I have stopped travel to much because how much I hate coming home.
Why should men support women when women are constantly bashing men? I am a fan of KJ but she often lets her dislike of men slip. Too many feminist women simply hate men. As for trans, it is women who push this rubbish and a lot of men are rightly pissed off by it but are so fed up with angry men haters that they just think “reap what you sow ladies”. You wanted the trans, you have them.
As much as I feel it's great to live in a liberal society where individuality is important, a society where a biological man could turn up at a doctor's surgery claiming to be a woman and demand to be medically treated as one (as a human right) is a society that has lost its mind.
The Leftist loonies obviously. But feminism gave birth to this dystopia of identity politics and political correctness. I remember 50 years ago being told what language I could use... and how all women were oppressed and all men were rapists etc.
OK around minute 33 Kelly says something about people going into her kids school to talk to them. I think she said 'Jires'? Can someone please explain to me what this is...?
I am a natural born male without a perverted bone in my body. I support Ms Parker and her movement along with Helen Joyce and others. That being said, Ms Parker, you are gorgeous
I also like contradiction. Not just because I'm so confident about my position, but because the contradiction might help me learn something new or see something in a new light. Never assume you are 100% correct. Always be willing to look at a question from the other side. Having said that to say a trans woman is a woman is just bonkers.
That little remark where she says "I have teenagers so I've had to let go of whatever I think I am ..." I forget what her exact phrasing is But as a high school teacher, I appreciated this very much. So true . Anything you hold dear, they will use against you
Growing up in the UK after the war , it's hard to understand all the anger and hate that exists . I can only assume they are bored due to no private existence or need to work . Women to a great extent were honoured , respected .
“We have to free half of the human race , the women so that they can help to free the other half “ - Emmeline Pankhurst Unity of women’s and working class liberation struggles .
Women's rights? Women's rights? What rights are those? Would they be the same as men's rights or do women have extra rights that men do not have? We all have human rights but to paraphrase George Orwell - some peop lke are more eqilual than others!
we all have rights yes, but are our rights the same, absolutely not because of not only our physiological and physical differences, but also how society sees us.
Women have issues that are particular to them but the only “right” I can think of that some would argue for is abortion. Other than that everything is just discussing women’s issues, which we should do. I think the term women’s rights is just a hold over from previous feminist waves.
Has to be said, Nigel Farage was one of the least successful politicians ever! He stood for parliament 5 times and lost Every time, this despite being promoted daily on the BBC and other MSM outlets for 10 years straight! Give me a break!
@@sillygoose9070 he was promoted uncritically by the BBC for many years way above his importance but I can see that you are comfy with your delusions lol
Farage managed to spook the Torries into promising a referendum, and held their feet to the fire. The main 2 political parties thought they could steer the vote, but they were wrong…….
If you consider being the single most effective voice in bringing about the biggest political change in Europe for around 50 years unsuccessful then you'd have a point. Or if politics was just about being elected to a UK constituency. In both cases: LOL
@@chelseapoet3664 his 'biggest political change' was a further hollowing out of the working class - he was a blimp within an ongoing political and media onslaught on the vast majority of UK citizens who are poorer now than they have ever been since the 1940's - great work!
