The corvette is tuned on coil overs and lightweight rims you haven't a clue about the balance on that car .
@gmracing15 down grading tire size on a tarmac stage WILL LIMIT OVERAL LATERAL GRIP (yes even if the rear tires will effect overal grip) and hurt the cars OVERAL BALANCE THE MOST. All over the world the Z06 regularly stomps cars on the track and does far better than it did in this competition. I'm sure the engineers that put STOCK 325's on the back of a REAR WHEEL DRIVE (not 4wd) car have no idea what they're doing. I'm sure the tons and tons of guys that regularly race their Z's in North America that nearly all run 345's on the back have no idea what they're doing. I'm sure that the race winning GT1 and GT2 cars with WIDER tires are just doing it for show. MORONS!
Yes, perhaps they should use the tires off my mountain bike. They have GREAT compounds, and I'm sure that will help put down the roughly 440rwhp that a stock LS7 puts out. Im sure those Japanese reviewers clearly don't won't their precious GTR to win and that the Z06 can hook up much better 295s instead of the 345s it could have. I'm not an expert but all the guys running 345s on the back of Zs on tracks in the real world are. As well as the engineers that put on the stock 325s. Civic moron.
@RacingPhilNici WHAT TRUCK HAS INDEPENDENT SUSPENSION?and no truck has a mono composite leaf spring(it weighs less than one coil over and the weight is more in the center of the car)one spring and one leaf not leaf springs not maid of steal and the Exige is no longer under powered look up venom you will see an Exige with an LS3 that will humiliate the Veryon
The Nissan R35 GTR was on inferior compound Z06 was on semi slick tires and honestly it didn't have a traction issue in this race it did pretty well. I see you don't have fucking clue what compounds mean you know why slicks where out faster its because THEY GIVE better GRIP . It loses more rubber to the road hence the wear grade. Know your place and learn something.
No one cares about ''what all these guys run'', What the fuck is a 345? A Walmart brand tire? Do you actually measure how wide they really are tire company do not have the same width vs another companies tire that 345 could be equivalent to a 295 tire from another company.
Stock tires on the back of a C6 Z are 325's... Often people that track them run 345's or occasionally even bigger. Similar for the front tires. Clearly the Z was utterly sandbagged, in similar conditions on other tracks all over the world... well, it fares rather better.

@MidShipCivic AND REDUCING THE SIZE ON THE TIRE EVEN WITH BETTER RUBBER WILL EITHER KEEP OR REDUCE THE CARS TOTAL GRIP AND CAN DAMAGE THE CARS BALANCE like in this vid case closed!

the standard size tires of a z06 is 275mm tire width in the front and 305mm in the rear this car was using 275mm front and rear that's huge difference when it comes to tire grip.
trucklike? You confuse things, mustang has a fixed rear axle - similar to trucks (the axle has no joints, just a differential in the middle), Corvette has independent rear suspension, nothing you could call a truck-like piece.
