Fantastic tuition, many thanks. I’ve not done ukemi like that before but see the logic in absorbing the initial impact and follow-on body slam via your “dead” arm. Thank you, I’ll try it out next training day.
I tried this with a chair instead of a partner, and I fell with the chair…Guess I'll have to think of another way. But I really appreciate your tutorial videos. Thank you so much.
I really like your explanations! I started aikido some months ago but I still have some difficulties with my basic ukemis. I try to practice at home but I only have a small mattress and I do not have tatami in my house. It's difficult for me to send the command to my body to perform a certain action and for it to comply with it. But I believe it's a matter of practice :) Thank you for your videos! You have a new subscriber from Argentina :)
Thank you for the great video. I have a question: I have attended Aikido school in a few places and in all of them Ukemi is done like ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zAhYKsfasqY.html, I guess more of across diagonal of your back, but in this video and some other recent video I see in Japan, is more of parallel to the shoulder. I wonder if it is different school by school or it's more advanced ukemi or it's a new way of doing ukemi. Thank you.
