Excellent new feature for CNC fabricators. I often add wood grain to my live 3D view to share with clients. Many of them never consider grain direction in sheet costing. I often need to show that also before they get it. Pre-graining the model and using this tool will be a great client relation experience for us. Thanks for posting!
I look forward in your deep dive into the new Nesting & Fabrication Extension. I would love to see you also demo it with an export to DXF. Can the DXF file have layers that include component/body/part name text?
Hey, I appreciate that. Probably about time for another Shop Update which is my condensed version of a Vlog. For those curious here's the series: pdxc.co/vlog2020
Thank you for this excellent review. I know it's a couple years now, but how do you deal with losing the model when you arrange in the design space? Arrange a copy? A manufacturing model solves this, but without the extension (at least on my paid license) the arrange function seems to be pretty limited, won't auto arrange, do grain direction, etc. Thanks again.
Thank you for this tutorial. A question: how we do when we need to arrange a design in many wood plane with specific dimensions? For laser cutting. How to export arranged 2D parts to DXF for example? I'm a beginner on fusion 360... Many thanks
Do you possibly know how to lock in arrange so it doesn't auto update? Any modifications I make to parts renests and messes up my NC files and cut paths per 4x8 sheet I have set up. Have a model that has 16 sheets of 4x8 - .5" and 4 sheets of 4x8 3/4" would love to not have to update all of the cut paths every time a file is updated and the Arrange fuction reclaculates. I would love ot lock it in place and manual move parts if needed. Any Idea. Thank you for your time. Great video!
