The gradient on the Metallic paint is an impressive tip, makes a massive difference. Video applicable not just Automotive products so don't be put off by the title, there's a shed load of good stuff here for everyone.
I'm rocking Keyshot on my 11 years old laptop that runs a i5 2520m, a Nvidia GT540M and 8 Gigs of ram...indeed when the scene is heavy loaded it's working in like 2 fps but I can manage to render some automotive scenes and at a pretty decent quality.
Sry I posted this on the previous upload, but its it possible for us to have access to some of the textures Tim used, like the dirt texture? Thanks in advance for the great content!
You can use any kind of organic looking, grungy texture to do this, even some the ones that ship with KeyShot. Of course, some are going to be better than others. Like Tim said, it's a lot of trial and error. The specific texture that Tim is using is from Poliigon. If you want it, you can get it here: www.poliigon.com/texture/dirt-wipes-020
