I have a 5 string stingray which I really like however I find the width at the nut are all a little narrow for my finger size are there any options available for wider necks?
NS Design 5-string violins (WAV, NXTa, and CR models) have a wider neck--about 30mm) and a slightly wider string spacing for comfort. Otherwise, Jordan violins are about the widest 5-strings (neck and spacing), though they are pricier and not as easy to come by. elecvioln.shop/nsdesignviolins
It's a long story. It has to do with the fact that the G10 is TRS so it can be recharged. Some active instruments (guitars have this problem, too), have jacks that touch the G10 where the insulating ring is. Line6 has heard our complaints, though, and have included a mono to stereo adapter that allows the wireless to work with active violins.
Sten Le Recently (early 2018) Bridge modified the jack/electronics design so that the G10 can be plugged directly in without the need for the adaptor. I think this is to become a standard mod on all new Bridge instruments, but always worth checking before ordering. An adaptor also works fine though for older models.
We don't carry the Fender violins because they really don't compete that well with the other violins we carry. But to answer your question, no, the Fender FV-1 does not have a battery.
@@MissShellyWebster , Fender has discontinued their electric violins, but for the last couple of decades they were made in Korea, in the same factory that made several other electric violins with different body shapes. They all had the same pickup and volume/tone control preamp. The output was weak and thin, the strings were of exceptionally poor quality, and the fixtures and fittings were also not up to par (Macassar ebony bridges, instead of maple, which made them hard to work, poor quality ebony pegs, which developed compression rings where they contacted the wall of the peg box, so they would no longer stay in tune, etc.). With a good preamp and a lot of processing, you could get a reasonably decent tone out of the Fender, but since the selling price put it in direct competition with NS Design, Wood Violins, and Yamaha models that sounded twice as good without the extra equipment and processing, the Fender violins just weren't a good value. Worse, because Fender is such a well-known brand name, folks would buy one and then, when it *didn't* automatically sound good, they often just assumed that all electric violins must sound awful because they bought a Fender, and they KNOW that's a good brand, so everything else must REALLY suck. In many ways, the latest model Fender violins probably actively hurt the entire field of electric violins.
