Thanks for the fiddle reviews and the FCTR performance series! In the instrument reviews I think it would be helpful to mention a couple more characteristics: (1) Which violins accept a standard shoulder rest? Some performers want to use their own shoulder rests, but not all electric violins are designed to enable that. (2) In 5+ string violins, the dimension of the fingerboard can be an import factor. Some instruments such as Bridge and Zeta use the viola fingerboard dimension (roughly) while other violins, such as Jordan, are a bit wider.

This channel is so wonderful, it really helped to get into the electric world, thanks so much! Question: which wireless unit do you guys recommend for a Bridge Aquila/Lyra Violin (since the Line 6 G-10 isn't recommended)?

Igor, the G10 now comes with an adapter that allows you to use it with most active pickup systems, including the Bridge violins. Even with the adapter, the G10's transmitter is smaller and less visible than any of the belt pack systems. However, when used with the adapter, the G10's transmitter will make a popping noise when you unplug it (unless the volume on the amp or your channel on the board is turned down).

These are great news, thanks a lot! Popping noise while unplugging isn't a big deal for me, since I can mute my signal using my volume pedal, but it's good to know about this specific detail.

I love that V shaped violin with a harness that gives more freedom. What was it exactly? Wooden Viper? Cost?

AkwadTypo YT You may want to consider getting a pickup. It's more affordable, will sound better than a cheap bargain electric violin, and this way you can you can perform amplified while you are saving up for a good electric.

What can you tell me about a Fender fv 1& a Maestro electric violin. Can I get a manual somewhere. I also need to know about string replacement for both. Can shoulder rests still be found. I am trying to learn something about playing these instruments. I am in my retirement years and with this COVID-19 stuff going around it’s trying to learn music or try out robbing banks to stay busy. Thanks

Where is the demonstration on the SV 250 / 255 that you promised at the beginning of this video? ;) Should be right between 1,500 and 2,000 $, but you skipped that and went to above 2,000 right away :P .

Sergio Paez We actually didn't. It's not a violin we ever recommend to performers. (We like it VERY much as an extremely high quality Silent practice instrument.) You can, with a special cable, plug it into an amp but the battery powered control box with 1/8th inch connections really isn't ideally designed for amplification.

We are in Durham, North Carolina. It really comes down to preference and what you need the violin for. The Cantini is the only violin in this price range that has MIDI capability. Its preamp has a little background noise, however, so for non-MIDI performance or non-MIDI recording projects we might recommend another violin such as the Bridge instead.

Really forgetting a little about prices I would like to know the closer to the real sound, is what interests me most, if I could also connect to a pedal like the Roland or something would be great.. sport my English isn't the best :/

We think they all sound good, but of course each sounds different. The NS Design violins (NXTa in this price range, CR-series at about double) are really balanced, great sounding, adaptable instruments. Any of the violins we sell can be connected to a Roland pedal. Out of the box it's the SV-250, which has the same pickup system as the SV-200, plus a brighter sounding bridge pickup, plus the ability to select either or blend the two, plus the more powerful, pro-level off board preamp. That said, you can use EQ, reverb and other techniques to "acousticize" the SV-200. SV-200 is very good, but if money is not an object then the SV-250 is the better, more versatile instrument.
