Hey Jamil, Yeah the drums are mixed after it's recorded.

Good question man! There are always numerous ways we can orchestrate or displace notes in the drums when playing a particular rhythm. This is just one way, and it’s specifically addressing the concept of linear application. Notice we are using our kick drum a lot and this greatly improves your ability to come up with all kinds of useful patterns around the kit. It’s very normal for us to come up with different ways of orchestrating the fills or grooves but it’s really helpful to learn all types of sticking and patterns to give you more ideas, and skill in crafting your own style.
