I am impressed that you were very patient doing small improvements on that water stain, taking long breaks between applications, and being careful not to do any damage. I am also guessing that you are using pharmacy peroxide at 3% solution, and then cutting that even lower by adding more water. Nice job.
Considering there hasn't been an update in a couple of years, its safe to assume that the grade came back below a CGC 5.5 and your method of cleaning did not work. Not trying to be harsh or critical, but I am trying to learn how to properly clean and press my comics. SO... with that being said and no result video show, we all (viewers) have to assume the worst. We all would love to see an update on what you received back from CGC.

Since you are confident enough to get the cover wet, what about lightly swiping a water damp cotton round over the area as an extra wet/dry session between every other direct brush wet/dry session? Maybe that would achieve the blending you are looking for in the region.

Do you clean books for others also? I have a Marvel Value Stamp book that I would like to get some TLC for before I put in the 100 stamps I have collected. The previous owner cut (poorly) and entered a few stamps - I am hoping they can be removed? And colored in the front cover a little? If the whole book could be cleaned and pressed I think it would be nicer when I enter all the "new" stamps.
Watching your videos make me want to try to clean some comics of my youth. Have some poor condition books with low resale value. Do you have any comments on using diluted acetic acid (CH3COOH) - vinegar or diluted sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3) - baking power as a cleaning agents? I've read some papers about older paper conservation of art prints using baths of those chemicals, but wouldn't imagine taking apart a comic to clean each page using this process. Maybe a spot cleaning like you are doing with the hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) would work. Any feedback would be instructive. Thanks for these videos.
I put all my books face to face & if there is any room at all on the sides of the box it still will leave a spine puff; so to speak. I had to then go through my whole collection to put it all back the original way. I just don't think there is any way to prevent that totally.

A guy once told me how to whiten up the pages but cant remember the product he used. It gave off a vapor and the book had to be open somehow for all the pages to be exposed to the vapor. Is this such a thing?
I know that people in the paper conservation industry use some type of chemical bath, but I am not familiar with the process. It's something I would love to learn.
Sooooo... some people send their old label in with the resubmission. CGC is supposed to update the registry and remove that book. I have never confirmed this myself. In the back of my mind, I have this notion that I don't want them to know what grade it was before. Therefore, I don't send my labels. You can later email customer service and tell them that book was cracked. Again, I haven't confirmed they update the registry.
I kind of buzzed through the video, but it seems like you are watering down 3% hydrogen peroxide which would make it 1.5% and I hear other people using 35% to 50% pure. Seriously, am I wrong or are you using way to weak of a hydrogen peroxide mix? Doesn’t it say in Kaptain Mikes book, that he uses HP at 50%? Or am I nuts?
I think most people black out Chem I Lab from college and just don't remember how solutions work. I am almost certain that everyone is starting with 3% and then diluting. So you are 100% correct... 3% USP diluted with half water would be 1.5%. Great point!
@@epicomicologycomics Hey, I just got a response from Rick with immaculate comics, and he says he usually uses 13% going as high as 25% for special cases. I am getting some 35% tomorrow from an online dealer which I am going to dilute 2:1 to get it down to about 12% pure and play around with that. This is mostly academic, since I would generally shy away from HP unless pretty necessary..
