Today we're going to look at some advanced phase correction techniques. I'm sure you are all familiar with double miking a tom (top and bottom miking) - here, a simple phase inversion can be used. Sometimes however, there are far more complicated scenarios involved in phase correction that you need to fix one in post. As such, we are going to look at how to do this in your mix, and we'll look at how to streamline the process so that it's faster and repeatable after your initial set up. Our focus will be on phase correcting close cymbal mics (hi hat and ride) to overhead mics, but this approach can be used for other scenarios as well (when recording drums generally, or even for other instruments).
