Id love to see a tutorial on better and faster target acquisition. Take rabbit hunting,or zombie apocalypse for example, I can hit anything I take time to aim at, but how do I get on target,and on new target faster and smoother?!

Agree! Would be great topic. I am getting into PRS and that is one of my weak points. I lose targets during a stage then waste time finding them again. Posting videos of my progress tho, so hopefully I learn that skill soon!!

Look at the target as you're building your position. Some shooters look along the top of their scope for alignment, but there are other techniques that may suit you better. As you drop into your cheek rest, you should have the target in sight. If you don't, lower your magnification and try again. Keep practicing until this becomes second nature. I typically ran 10x magnification in matches, but as I'm getting better, I usually run at 12 or 15x these days, and I can still find the target.

@Pallidum I started trying this at my December match. Helped a lot more. Can't see the targets, but I had a direction they were in and was able to get on target much faster this time. I noticed towards the end of the match that I was 10 to 15 on my scope instead of 20 to 25 like my first few. Good tips!

@@ChadKelly7 I never run at above 15x unless I'm zeroing the rifle. In prs, you generally want to run just enough that you'll comfortably see and hit the target, which is between 8x and 15x depending on glass and the shooter. Keep in mind that the more field of view you have the faster you'll find your target. Just one second faster per round means time for one more shot per stage. That extra shot really adds up in the scores.

@Pallidum Thank you. New to this, just did 1st match in September. I did notice a few weeks ago that I was finding targets faster being around 12 most of the time. Zoomed in on the smaller KYL targets and the 1050 yard target. Going to make a more conscious effort to stay zoomed out more. I am trying to make review videos of each match and talk about what I need to work on the most before the next month's match. Hope to look back at those at the end of this first season and be able to see that I progressed well. It's a lot of fun and I am enjoying getting into it!! Always looking for things to improve and try to learn from anyone that has good tips for me try. Appreciate the info! Have a very Merry Christmas!!

Everyone is so into snipers these days (sappers as they used to be called). Its only a sniper hide until you fire your first shot and then you have a defensive position.

I want to shoot too, but where should I go? I am Korean, so guns are only in the military, and it is illegal for civilians to possess them

Simple. Gather up all the able-bodied men in the country. Go to your government and inform them that you have Unalienable Rights granted simply by virtue of being alive. One of which being the right to self defense and barring arms. Tell them to either codify those Rights, or be replaced with people that will. Then let the rest of the world know that you are now a free country,and with that the arms manufacturers will start bringing products to your country. Buy one from them,and go to either private property "with permission from owner" or public property "where others are not in harms way" and set up a range and targets. Practice practice practice. Once good,use your new found skills and liberty to preserve your Unalienable Rights for generations and generations. Simple.

@@normalhuman9260 It is impossible for citizens to carry guns in self-defense because the Republic of Korea is a fake democracy, a de facto totalitarian country. Citizens' intentions are not reflected in politics and policy.

It's not illegal to own guns in korea, but the laws are strict. Korea is active in many shooting sports, including ISSF and IPSC. I'd suggest looking for a local hunting or sports shooting club.
