Yea. There’s a lot of RU-vid bass fishing channels out there and a lot of things have changed in past year or so with livescope meaning they don’t need to learn any bait modifications because they can manipulate a swim bait to catch bass. I love the bait videos. I have learned way so much by watching your videos especially the jig juice. I use to not be able catch a bass on a jig now I’m making my own jigs and it’s my primary bait now. So please keep up the bait videos there are several of us out there that really appreciate you!!!…Thanks again Randy!!..

Just ordered some nanahan +1’s and + 2’s from your link Randy. I’m in Ohio and water temps right now are from 39-40.3 degrees on my lake. Rarely get skunked but last 2 times I’ve been out I didn’t land a single fish!! Not a big Jerkbait guy but willing to try anything to get that skunk taste outta my mouth!! Randy, I was helping my bake cookies and cupcakes for Thanksgiving while listening to this video and taking notes 4 pages in my journal. 4 1/2 hours with lots of brief pauses and rewinding. Great video. Great tips . Thank you for sharing your experience and expertise.

Randy that was the best jerkbait video I have ever seen. Been fishing jerkbaits for many years but now I know the mistakes I been making. I only fish megabass jerkbaits that's where my retirement fund went. You have to have different colors and size of baits and the right line to make it all work. This video is all you need to become a good jerkbait fisherman you will learn more while you are doing it. Thank you so much for sharing.

Great content...I totally agree not using a normal bait caster but you might want to try the Shimano Curado BFS with the whipsnake...it is amazing and I will never go back especially using the X80. Thanks for another great session.

I agree everything you said except when you talk about choosing your gear, I always use baitcasting never have any issue, I used 4lbs line on on baitcast with no problem, although my gear is BFS and it’s not conventional baitcast setup

Great stuff Randy! I went today and caught 3 jerk bait fishing. I'm waiting for my X-Nanahan +1 to come and, I can't wait to try it. Question: what size hooks should I use if I want to replace the hooks that come on the X-Nanahan +1? Thanks!

Thanks Randy, I appreciate you passing along these good insights. I remember when you splashed onto the BASS scene in the late 80’s. I think I first saw you in bass master magazine, and then I saw you in one of the televised tournaments. I quit bass fishing for 30 years while I raised a family and return to college to get my degree and built a career and a successful marriage of 43 years. Now I am mostly retired, and I am returning to bass fishing and it is a whole different ball game from 30 years ago. Basically, I am re-learning how to catch bass and I’m gonna say it’s painful. I live on the lake in Georgia, but the bass fishing on this lake is pretty difficult. Anyway, thank you for putting out good content and thank you for staying out of the politics.

Why does a jerk bait bottom out? Instead of keep diving on account of the lip? It seems like it would continue to dive forever. Is it the line to lure angle that stops the fall?

The water temperature is different each month. So, if a jerk bait does one thing in one temperature it may do something different in another. Therefor, although a jerk bait may "suspend" perfectly in one temperature, it will do something different in another. No bait suspends perfectly in all water temperatures out of the box.
