Hey Shane -- great video and something that has been long over due for needing to be said! I think if people actually did more research before buying an American made camper, they would think twice. When you think about it, most manufacturers in the USA warranty their rigs for ~12 months or so. Most people use their rigs around 2 weeks per year and maybe a long weekend or two in addition to that. And then, based on my research if you have a problem with one of the American made RVs, warranty issues are/can be very difficult to get taken care of...if you can even get the manufacturer to even answer their phone. These American built rigs are expensive as well...albeit not like the off-road ones, but nonetheless, the money spent on them is still nothing to sneeze at for a lot of people. So in reality...these cheaper built American RVs only need to last about a year and then the problems are no longer that of the builder...they become the owner's issues! You could be stuck with a $35K or $40K+ frickin' "boat-anchor!" (POS) Where's the fun in that?! These American RVs that everyone says are so nice and beautiful may look that way on the outside but when you get down to it and look closer, it's nothing but particle board, thumb-tacks, staples, some Elmer's Glue and contact paper/duct tape holding things together. I hate to knock American manufacturing, but seriously...it sucks when it comes to RVs. You'd think that America would be setting the standard, right??? Anyway...great video!! Looking forward to doing business with you guys in the very near future. Just have to decide between the Conqueror UEV-14, UEV-490 or the OBi Dweller D15. Decisions...decisions!!! It's really stressful!! LOL!!

Unfortunately, I worked for an RV dealership for only 3 months once. It took me that long to learn the truth about how the smaller ones were made and how much of a HUGE mark-up there was in them all. Plus, I had deals stolen from me because they were afraid I would tell the customers the truth. It should have been criminal what they were doing and the worst part was most customers were senior citizens. This was many years ago, but they are still open at the same location. Shameless.

@@darrylshelton5297 That's not surprising. When we bought our first RV in 2011, we bought from a manufacturer that only sells direct, no dealership network. ROA is one of the few if not the only "dealer" we would consider working with to buy our next (and probably last) trailer.

If one is looking for an off road-ish trailer the "American Made Elhart Mass Produced " rv should not even be in the equation. Any mass produced trailer in America or China is going to likely have issues. I am willing to pay a bit more for a US (CA) built trailer on a smaller scale but that's just me.

I've become a sort of elitist when it comes to camper trailers since discovering ROA. Anything I see on the road that doesn't look built for the off-road I stare down with a look that says "Pathetic..."

Why buy an off road trailer if you don't go off road much? Have you seen the lousy quality of public roads lately? You can beat up your trailer more on the paved roads driving to the national forest than you will on the forest service roads!

Well done Shane. You speak the truth about Off Road Adventure Trailers. Just the independent suspension makes all the difference in the world. Since I purchased my Off Road trailer from you in July of 21, I have put over 15,000 miles in 12 months and had zero structural issues, no cabinets coming loose, nothing falling out. I had a defective Dometic fridge, but the warranty covered that. I am a happy camper nuf said! See you at the Roamer Rally Sept 8th. Safe travels.

What is your opinion of the new Ember brand campers? One buzz kill for me is they went with Lippert.
@ROAOffRoad
@ROAOffRoad 2 года назад
I agree. They look better than traditional trailers built in Indiana but still not nearly as awesome and durable as the rigs you see from ROA!
@susanvowell5339
@susanvowell5339 2 года назад
We took a really close look at them at a dealer in Utah a few months ago. While better than most mass produced trailers, they are not well built overall. A good tell on the quality of their suspension/frame is the really low CCCs on the "larger" trailers. That's a sure sign that the suspension/frame components aren't up to the task, especially off road. The new four wheel models they are rolling out only have a 1,320lb CCC and tons of storage space. Prediction: people are going to be overloading Embers and running into problems. Some people like to knock the quality issues of the Black Series. The BS is head and shoulders above the Ember in quality. It's too bad because we had high hopes for Ember as an option. One plus is that Embers are less expensive than the comparably sized trailers ROA sells. You get what you pay for.
