Wow. The dalek "poster" is insultingly depressing. It's like something you'd print off at work in a miserable attempt to add character to your bleakly soulless office cubicle, but that you only did in mono because you were afraid your boss would yell at you for using all the coloured ink.
I was surprised at the thickness of the white outline. I can't stand to look at how much space that takes in the print, I just feel like it needs to be cut out.
To me, it had the look of laser printer, and on something akin to cardstock. Pretty bad, and honestly a bit insulting, like those days when they got one or two stickers.
Mark my words. The "No, that's Chris Pratt" multiverse is going to become a massive source of confusion this year and be written into the history books.
Hey, I just wanted to thank you guys. I had to put my beloved feline companion of 15 years to sleep on Dec 2. That first weekend was very, very hard, but I filled my time watching playlists of the Advent Calendars from the last few years. Watching Stuart and Dan make snarky comments about Advent Calendar tat kept me from crying for three days straight and even got a laugh out of me here and there. I'm not sure how I would have made it through otherwise.
my own cat was put down on sept 5th. it was absolutely the right time but it did, and does, suck a lot. if the pain is the price i have to pay for the 14 years i had with him, i'm willing to pay it. my sincere condolences to you.
I actually quite liked the star trek postcard set, and I think that the enterprise bookmark is way better than the dalek one....honestly, i think overall the star trek calendar has been better, its worst days were just put up against the best days of the doctor who calendar
I like that DALEK print BUT should be way more like the stickers should have had another and that the Star Trek print had several. Also that bookmark won't stab your fingers like the Dalek one probs would
There's a really good bit in the Doctor Who TNG Crossover where the 4th Doctor has a run in with Kirk, Spock & McCoy. It's got a completely different art style. It's very cleverly done.
@@jazzygeofferz No prob. I'm glad it's been getting more love lately. The Animated Series was alot better than people gave it credit for honestly. Yes it had budgetary problems but it did get most of the original cast, alot of the original writers, and added a few things still used in modern Trek today like the Holodeck.
On the nineteenth day of Christmas, the calendar gave to me Star Trek metal bookmark Postcards from space Sisko pin badge Star Fleet paperweight Extermination socks Vulcan key chain Weeping Angel topper Space Titanic pass holder Cards for a Whovian Snowman pin badge The better shitty magnet (Contribution by Fire Bomb) A tag for space luggage Ship status coasters A key for a phonebox ENTERPRISE SOCKS!(contribution by Matthew Shaw) The face of deletion Quark's Bar wine stopper A yo-yo from a Time Lord And cards geared towards a trekkie(Contributed by Dierte Sanchez)
You don't have to credit me again, but surely this one should be at least like "Enterprise Metal Bookmark" or something, i don't have a good one for it, just linking it to which calendar. but for yesterdays i just thought of something like "postcards from the original episodes" or something...again...I'm sure someone will think of more clever things
@@thealmightyassman Postcards from the original episodes is a bit too long for the rhythm of the song, it has to be something short. I think star Trek Metal bookmark flows a little bit better than Enterprise Metal bookmark
The enterprise bookmark works because when it's in a book, the negative space will be behind the page, and all you'll see is the Enterprise. The Dalek one didn't really work like that.
@@Lordani66 The Star Trek bottlestopper was genuinely really nice, as were the coasters. A lot of stuff like the paperweight or the postcards are middling. The Doctor Who calender has been entirely middling to shite.
If they end up in a tie they should go through each item against the same item and add more points based on that. So wine stopper vs wine stopper, stickers vs stickers ect
Just wow. How is it that basically even Paw Patrol gave you more *actual stuff* ? Cause 90 % of both of these are either cardboard or pin badges, which you can do literally nothing with. The one exception is when these cardboard bits were to be used as postcards but even then, almost no one really even uses those anymore. When the bloody INK PAD is a more useful and usable gift than almost everything from EITHER of these calendars, I dunno what to even say. Btw this is not a criticism of you guys, you're awesome as always. Just very disillusioned with these particular calendars.
I just now noticed that the minifigures in the background have been slowly multiplying as these vids go on. I really like the background work going into these.
I have finally found what is more infuriating than being sent a folded art print or poster! Being sent an art print that is on a standard 8 1/2 x 11 piece of paper that you could literally print yourself, complete with 1 in margins!
"Captain! We're detecting tat dead ahead. Sensors indicate that the value for money is insultingly low." "We cannot let this get past us. If it reaches Earth, it will devastate the Federation almost as much as _Star Trek Picard_ did. Target all phasers, arm all photon torpedoes, and prepare to fire on my mark. Also, activate high resolution scanners. We'll want to upload this to RU-vid."
I think they tend to be way too critical of things sometimes. That bookmark is pretty damn cool. The reason they probably made it that way was so it would be sturdier. A thin, skinny piece of metal would probably snap otherwise.
Has anybody memorized what they already got and what therefore certainly will be in the other calendar in the next five days? I think Dan will get a bottle stopper, won't he? Will there be another tea towel?
Why does dan's item today look like it was printed off for a school project in the library? Like it doesnt look like a proffesional print, it literally looks like they took a png and slapped it onto a google docs page and printed it. But hey just wanted to say that I love this series and have watched pretty much every year, so thank you guys for the wonderful winter solstice ritual.
Not the best bookmark, but a bit more practicle and recognisable than the Dalek one Dan got, and definitely better than the 'print' Dan got today. Software: How much border do you want with this print? Calender manufacturer: Yes
