What an amazingly detailed video. . One of the best accessories' video I have seen of late. The best part was. . all the modifications are so 'relatable'. I would have also done such kind of modifications had I owned this bike. A treat to watch truly😇
This is by far the best video I have seen for the KTM 390 ADVENTURE Rest all are busy reviewing and giving their no so expert comments.... This video talk about what all necessary mods you can do on your beauty!! Truly appreciate your video!!
thanks for great ideas and taking the time, i really appreciate you my friend, i haven't bought the 390 yet doing my home work first and you have helped alot
WOW ! ! ! Amazing first video. This is the best accessory video I have see. Thank you for putting all your effort into this to help others. Planning to buy D390 in the Philippines to island hop. This is extremely helpful. If I could make a suggestion for next time? Best time to shoot a video is outdoors just before the sun comes up. Your video is just dark. Thank you for your hard work and definitely will purchase the same items you did. Thumbs up 10X
Excellent Alteration with so much care and safety precautions brother..... I liked ur love on bike. probably i wil go with KTM 390 adventure by july 22nd (on my birthday). if not Benellli for sure. Thanks for the video
Hey, I'm confused over Adv390 or Himalayan. I'm afraid that the 390 with too much electronics would become a problem when we are in remote areas if in case we meet with a problem. While on Himalayan I don't find it powerful enough for Highways and the weight. Will the Adv 390 would be reliable.? Will there be any problems with the electronics.?. Is it worth buying for long distance "reliable" touring?
Definitely go for the Adv390. I almost booked the Himalayan but then cancelled plans after two of my friends who got them had issues on the first day. One guy's fuel tank broke and the other guy's front brake got stuck. First day. RE is also infamous for their horrible service. And lastly, three other friends went to Shimla on two Himalayans and they got stuck in the middle of the road because one of them would not start. Reliability wise, KTM is much better. All these electronics can be switched off if they ever cause any issues anyway. The fuse box is right next to the glove compartment. And after using my bike for more than 5 months, the only issues i have with it are the seat height being a bit tall and that the default sprocket set is not that good. I am switching the rear sprocket to the 47T one :). Definitely go for the Adv390. You will love it.
Nicely made video........ wish you all the best .......only one suggestion, if you can provide information about more option for every part a comparative analysis, it will be much more professional approach.
Awesome video brother...Very informative...when others are busy with there reviewing, you are the one who came up with a new and a good idea. Can say the best video I have ever seen for ktm 390 adventure. Thank you for making such a good video and giving us such information as well...
extremely well explained bro.. i have 390 adv jus waiting for the lock down to end and rush to banglore to get ur work done on mine.. ur video was very helpful and keep us updated on the luggage set up and windscreen. cheers and happy miles would love to ride along with you
Well both the bikes are really different. Interceptor is an amazing bike for highway and the power of the twin engine is just amazing. What it lacks is the suspension and that makes it not as good for off road. Its also much heavier and RE service is infamous. Adv390 is not as powerful, not as thrilling to ride as the interceptor. But what it lacks in power output, it makes up for in comfort, suspension and reliability. KTM service is also top notch and super cheap. If you like a shorter vehicle and its mainly for highway then interceptor is better. For everything else and an all rounder, Adv390 is better. I highly suggest you to take a test ride for both which will immediately set which bike you like more
Hey Parth, nice video. Can you let me know about the clutch lever? I remember that you changed it in accessories V2 video. Any particular reason for it to be removed?
Hey. When using Easy Clutch, those levers were not giving enough pull. So changed it back. Plus with the super strong handguards, its not really needed
Very well explained. Congratulations for getting a beautiful Bike. Could you help me with one doubt i have as i intend to own one. Does the bike stall in heavy traffic because of low end torque. Have heard about the Low end torque as a big problem for City traffic. Also hows the seat comfort for long rides? Tia
Regarding the low end torque, I have seen a video in which the original front sprocket which is 15T is replaced with a 14T sprocket from Duke 250. This can be done in ktm service centre and I think it will help with the low end problem.... Thanks, Safe riding everyone.
Instead of changing front sprocket, go for higher teeth rear sprocket from ktm powerparts. This will improve lower end torque but higher end will be compromised by a reduced top speed. Front sprocet change isnt recommended as there will be a error in speed shown on console.
The bike does stall a bit in traffic but i can be easily fixed with a 14T front sprocket as Rameez Razack said. It gives that small push that you feel is missing in the bike. I am adding this change as soon as lockdown ends :) As for seat comfort for long rides, the seat is hard and it butt pains. Thats why the air cushion seat :D
@@sharatkumar287 Yes KTM powerparts has a higher teeth rear sprocket which will fix the issue as well. But to change the rear sprocket, the entire rear tyre has to be removed and sprocket has to be changed, aligned and then you are good to go. Also rear sprocket is expensive(around 5k excluding gst and fitting charges). The front sprocket is just 280rs in bangalore and can easily be changed. Chain is also aligned by service center itself and since ADV 390 uses front wheel to check the speed instead of the front sprocket rpm, no error will be present in console. Hope this helps :)
Yes u can mod to 14 T spocket as mentioned by others, but u really dnt require that unless u will be doing hardcore off road. U will get used to the clutch.
Hi Parth ! Great content ! I have a small quarry to u ! I wanted to fit the rear tyre Duke390 mud flap, however my local ktm service guy tried but failed due to mismatch of bolt holes of the Duke tyre hugger rod/frame which has a different bolt size hole while to be fixed in the saree guard slot ! It seems the hole in the rod needs to be drilled to fit the Adv390 saree guard bolts ! Moreover the gap between the mud flap and tyre is too narrow, which can be a challenge ! Will u pls guide with ur experience ! Thanks
Bro, I had the same switch didn't last one proper rain ride. the switch got stuck and my AUX lights were always on. had to cut out the wire to turn it off.
So these switches are CNC aluminium cover and regular switch inside. Just pull out the switch alone then you will see glue holding up the wires. Put some insulation tape on them and plug them back in. They will work perfectly again :). Also, if you did not use a relay, the switch will burn off and either stay on or off all the time. In this case, blame the mechanic and please install a relay
@@parthmenon You didn't understand what I meant. The switch was stuck in the on position and since it is a push switch, you cannot pull it out. My switch got stuck in the on position and pressing it again wasn't making it come out. I installed the switches myself with a proper relay and 10A fuse. It was the switch's design that causes a hardware failure due to water ingress.
Hi, Top box you can get from multiple companies. Starting from Studds for 1500, ASG/MDR for around 4k till upto Givi and all for 35k. Although from my experience, i would suggest a light weight, aerospace nylon topbox instead of a full metal one because more weight at the back is not good for your riding experience. If its not urgent, wait for Carbon Racing to release their topbox. I am waiting for their top box and panniers as well. They will look something like this: carbonracing.in/collections/luggage/products/panniers-for-dominar-dominar-ug
Nice additions. Given the electrical accessories you've added, I suggest that use something like a Denali Powerhub2 to protect your entire electrical system.
Nice work..... But is it a good idea to attach so many electricals to the bike whose real purpose is go anywhere. I mean what if battery gone dead on a Ladakh tour. Anyways, you must have thought about it so no worries.
I have added relay. Will make a video on it soon. Also these are just the accessories i fit. You dont need to get them if you dont want them. Its not a perfect accessories for all Adv's video. Its just stuff i found cool/useful :)
Its good man. Initially i found the Himalayan suspension to be better but after usage, Adv's is better. You can try both out. Just make sure you adjust the preload of the rear suspension to suit your weight. That makes all the difference.
@@gulshank1987 its similar except you feel less of the road. The bike is taller. The best comparison i can think of is the difference between a hatchback and an suv like fortuner. It just glides over everything
awesome accessories bro, i am also getting 390 adventure, So bikenbiker will be good for accessories? If do you have any 390 adventure riders group please refer me also bro :)
Thanks bro. I dont recommend bikenbiker for accessories unless you want some specific accessories that they have. You can check my second accessories video in which i say where all you can get most of them. We have a Bangalore and All India group. Will give you the contact of admins there. Ping me on insta at parthmenonyt
One of the very best on explaining the ingredients properly. I wish your subscriber base increase faster. Can you please let us know about side luggage fitting options particularly in case of pillion also riding on long tours! In such cases, the luggage carrying capacity won't be sufficient with the present set up you explained here.
Yes. I am currently waiting for side stays and panniers to come out from Carbon Racing. You can check out how they look like here: carbonracing.in/collections/dominar/products/adventour-aluminium-panniers-set If you already have panniers, then you can get just the saddle stays from AdvTribe although they are a bit on the expensive side. www.advtribe.in/product/ktm-390-adventure-saddle-stay/ Personally, i really liked the side stays and panniers by Carbon Racing and plan to get them as soon as they come out. Will make a detailed video about it after :)
You won't feel the heat is because the exhaust pipe from the headers have gone below the engine avoiding that heat wave through the legs and thigh. And yes every ktm needs that Figo air cushion, it's like a life saver.
just check the top rack with the top box filled full and check the mounting because i doubt it will be there for long tours also just a request bro install the auxiliary light properly installed on the auxiliary light mount which you can get at HDT customs
I had already changed the toprack to Motourenn, a year back. And aux lamp mount was using AdvTribe under headlamp mount. Which works well. Asura also has similar thing but for half the price.
If its 20mm risers then no need to change any wires. If its 25mm or more then we have to change the stock clutch cable. We can use the Himalayan clutch cable which is almost 3 inches longer.
Great job bro. Liked those additions u hav made on ur bike. Most are very useful, like aux led lights, horns, pannier support etc. Nicely explained. I was looking for such video on mods. But i hav few questions regarding auxiliary led lights. How much do they cost, and it seems like those lights ll break if the bike falls. Can it be protected? And also tell us how much did this overall mods cost u?
The Aux Lights are from Autofy. I got them for 2k per pair. They are pure metal and won't break. I know because my bike fell on both sides, unfortunately. The aux lights housing is strong enough to hold the weight of the bike. Just make sure you add the soft pads so that the bike plastic body doesn't get scratched by the lights.
Cool bro, keep posting new videos. Also u can try coating ur bike with a matte/ glossy layer transparent to protect from scratches. I saw it on one of the channel . Not sure where its done in banglore. If you get to know where its done, pls upload the info in ur nexr vlog. Happy riding!😊👍
@@sharatkumar287 Forgot to respond earlier, i am not sure how much all of it costed me cause some of the mods like the custom handguards and the clutch/brake lever only occurred cause i dropped the bike. Overall including the extra purchases i made for accessories which broke during the fall, it might come to 20k or so.
@@sharatkumar287 yes bro. I will post only quality content without any ads or promotions. The "bike lamination" can be done at Banaswadi for just 2k to 3k. I had checked at Autotrix and they told me a price of 11k which i could not afford hence scrapped the idea. But by the time i learnt about the 2k shop, i had already added the tank bag and tank grips which would be hard to re-fit after lamination. Also, one major issue of lamination is that it can get scratches easily. Its very thin sheet of plastic that tears even with your finger. Screen guards are more stronger than this. So in the end its a decision between keeping a scratchy looking but unscathed underneath bike or a slightly scratched new looking bike. Also it just costs 4 to 5k for a full paint job, which you can invest in after 2 years or so. If its the same colour then RC book updation also not required. Hope this helps :)
How did you connected the wires without cutting it ? Curious whether if it void the warranty. Anyways congratulations for your new bike. I've the white one will do some modifications.
The rear end of the bike has connectors for accessories which will get power after ignition is turned on so no wire cutting required. I talked to the service center and they said that any electrical modifications will void the warranty for the battery, which is 18 months. But i talked to Exide as well and they said if any battery issues are there, just being the bike documents and they will replace it. Warranty is just not applicable at service center :)
@@akashpaul4925 alarm as in theft alarm or hazard lights? Hazard light ports are not there for this bike so modules don't work by default so they have to be wired in from the back. Theft alarm like the ones in car, i don't suggest at all because the radio frequency module being on all the time drains the battery really quick. And dead batteries are really bad for an FI bike such as most ktm bikes. It would be better to get a GPS module that has an inbuilt battery like from Trackzo. That lasts 2 days without power from the bike battery and you can see where your bike is anytime. Whenever you turn on the bike, it charges the internal battery.
Hi nice bike..thankz for uploading video i really like the way u did moods to the bike nnot overly done...heyy plz tell me which colour should i choose for this bike i was thinking to buy white and orange but when i saw ur bike organge looks good too suggest me plz
Thanks bro. Both are really good. Orange/black is matte finish and white/orange is glossy finish. Just see them both in the showroom and whichever catches your eye, go for that one :)
@@parthmenon thankz for the honest reply i will go with matte finish..al the best for caming videos plz make more videos if u make any new changes or modes on bike.
Handlebar risers i got from HDTCustoms. But i am planning to change them to CarbonRacing ones because they have multiple types and also pivotable risers coming in the future. You can also check out Carbon Racing here: carbonracing.in/collections/duke-390-adventure
Just the battery warranty gets affected. Service center will not replace the battery if you add any electrical equipment on the bike. But Exide will still consider the warranty. If you have any battery issues, just walk into an exide showroom with your bike documents and you can get it replaced
Wow, Heavily modified bike with quality accessories 👏👏👏 Share the price of each item to get idea in order to decide and manage budget to prioritise purchase
Bike price is 3.85L in Bangalore. You might get offers after lockdown cause sales came to a stand still. Accessories each price is in the description. I actually have no idea how much total i spent cause i did a lot of R&D with other parts which were flops and ended up spending a lot there too. These are the final test and tried ones which i can recommend :)
I am planning to add them after lockdown from Carbon Racing. They are currently developing the taller windscreen. Will put up a video after :) This is how the windscreen would look: instagram.com/p/B-RG-J0AsMk/
