I’m surprised that someone would be rude to you about filming. You seem to try very hard to avoid people and therefore respect their privacy. It blows my mind that they would think any differently. It looks like a really cool campground though.

I guess some people just have to take moods out on others. No idea. 😅

I’ve been making it weird for people since 1972! It was strange to run into Glenn a few days after staying in a campground that I chose because of one of his videos, but I couldn’t pass up saying hello. Glenn was very nice in our brief exchange. My 8 year old son was extremely disappointed that he missed out on meeting you (he was hiking the trail with my wife). Again, thank you. The videos are great!

Love the video! The petrified wood hike was so nice, and the water color there is so unbelievably pretty! Thanks for showing it to us!

Insane water color, right? Wish we thought to pack the kayak for the trip. 😄

Cactus Atlas, thank you so much for showing us how the park looks ahead of time so we can decide if we want to visit. It really helps us a lot, again thank you for these awesome educational videos. 😊 PS: (rude people's opinions are not wanted or needed!)

Thanks Glenn and Amy. I looked up the reservoir and the name is Wide Hallow. So beautiful. Awesome campground to relax. Cool tent. REI has a good selection. Let us know how it was. The petrified forest is different from Arizona in that there are more plants and Arizona is more desert. Thanks for the tour.

So far Glenn has said the tent is the best one that he's had so far. It got quite the run in the past couple of weeks. Thank goodness for incredible sales and perfect timing! Oh, for sure on the plants thing. Helps to disguise sections of logs too. 🤣😅

Another great adventure! Your new tent is nice, a good investment. Hope you get many years of camping with it. Watching this video has got me even more anxious to get out in the wilderness and pitch our tent. If we ever see you we’ll be sure to just say hi and try not to ask for a photo or autograph! “Almost world famous…” - you gotta expect that 🤷‍♂️🤣 Take care and we’re looking forward as always to your next video!

We're hoping it lasts as well. It's taken a while to kind of zero in on what was needed as use cases and needs changed too. Thanks so much and hope that you're able to get out soon! 😊

Beautiful campground. Thanks for showing us around. Sorry about the jerk who was rude to you. He probably has a lot of vile issues in his life and lucky you probably got the brunt of it. Awful way to go through life lashing out at others. Miserable life. Don’t let him steal your joy and the joy you and Amy bring to others through your content. Thank you for taking us on your adventures. Happy 4th of July to you and Amy. -Jana

Hi, Glen! I'm also surprised that there was someone being rude to you because of filming, specifically since that's something so common these days. Anyway forget it, I love your videos and the campground is really beautiful. ❤ Even though I'm not the camping type of person (my nickname is "Mrs. Comfort" 😂) the place is really cool and with lots of amenities. Thanks so much for sharing with us. 🥰

Nice! We stayed there when it was booked full except for the Camp Host spot next to the Visitor Center. They gave it to us since the host wasn't due for two more days. My girlfriend wants me to tell you, you missed a lot of petrified wood. I guess there were more trails you missed. I can't confirm. 🤣 Great area! Hell's Backbone is an incredible drive.

Nice restrooms!! Utah really takes care of their facilities. Sorry you encountered someone who was rude-you more than anyone I know who films avoids people so that’s a shame. Looks like a great campground!

Looks very restful there. ❤ your videos. Came across another RU-vidr “Backroadswest1” who had a very detailed video on “Gold Butte National Monument” what to see and how to get there. Very interesting guy.

Great video. People that have a problem with you recording in a public area. To hell with them. Another thought. If you don’t want to be recognized, you could just show the places without you in the picture, and do voice-overs.
@CactusAtlas
@CactusAtlas День назад
True. Though in my experience with how RU-vid goes, most don't react positively to those hiding behind the camera. We've been going for 5 years so probably a bit too late anyhow. 😅

I don't understand rude a-holes. You are very considerate while filming. What, were they on the run for murder or something and you might give away their location? Jeez, people.
@CactusAtlas
@CactusAtlas День назад
Who can say. Maybe they just assume someone with a camera wants to film in the bathrooms instead of the empty campsites they're aimed at. 😅 We just write it off as a bad mood. 🤷‍♀️
