As an ex courier, Derri boots. No protection in impact, but guarenteed dry feet, except for your own sweat in summer. Only time i was ever 100% waterproof was in Derri and a new Rukka over suit. If riding all day in the rain for months on end, worth every penny. Nowt worse than a wet sack before you even arrived at the office before your day even starts. Being warm and dry is safe and alert, cold and damp slows reaction time.
Had several pairs of forma boots for the comfort but was always concerned about the lack of protection. I changed to sidi adventure 2 boots a couple of years ago and last year had an off on a crf300. My leg was trapped under the bike and badly twisted but after 3 months of physio I am now back to normal and I was told that if I hadn't had the ankle protection I did I would likely have had a much more serious injury. I have found the Sidi boots fantastic for touring and they have never leaked even in hours of heavy rain. I am now at the age where protection is my biggest consideration with kit and am happy to spend more as you only get 1 head, 2 legs etc. A good friend of mine is a police rider who had a serious "off" and his leathers, air vest and shoei lid undoubtedly saved him from life changing injuries. Life is all about individual choices but I am very much a believer of "all the gear all the time" 😊
Lighter bikes need lighter kit. At one point I got to the point where I felt like a Star Wars trooper. Could hardly move. Not enjoyable. As Colin Chapman said, add lightness and simplify. Everything's too complex. Even coffee can look like a sherry trifle now. And taste like one. Black, hot aromatic is all you need. The pure essence of the experience. Works for me. Ride safe 👍
I wear alpinestar tech 7 drystar, not great for walking around in but definitely not uncomfortable just awkwardish. I would rather have the protection for worst terrain I'm going to ride. But mostly because they are the boots i have around from enduro
If there's the slightest chance you're gonna come off off-road then you need serious protection. A decent lid might not be needed ever, but for most, decent off road ankle/lower leg protection is needed nearly every ride. There's not much I haven't done in a pair of Sidi Crossfires, serious protection, extremely comfortable, add waterproof socks and they'll happily see me thru a winter trail riding. I have to go back to work so I'm not gonna piss about with anything which doesn't perform to the max when I need it most. When I go on bike trips it's a bike trip - when I go on a walking holiday that's when I wear walking boots.
Crossfire boots are awesome but quite heavy. I've started using the Leatt equivalent which are much lighter and possibly give even better protection. Can't vouch for longevity yet. Oh, and waterproof to boot! Worth checking out.
@@colinavery3262 crossfires last forever if you get the SRS version and replace the soles. I’ve ridden in them on multi day rides and they are super comfy, great ankle pivot, can’t see me swapping to anything else
Yep, for me Altberg and Forma boots have served me well (the latter when on dirt high in the Andes and I fell off with the bike landing on my ankle). Peter
The difficulty is not being able to try each boot for long enough to find one that suits. So I feel we tend to stick with our experience rather than make a costly mistake. Personally I try to buy used boots that have had little or no wear on them so I have a good chance of recouping my money if I don't like them. Currently have forma Adventures for the road and Sidi Crossfires for the trail. BTW, I always go one size up over my shoe size and if boots are Italian sometimes 2 sizes up.
I've not long bought some Forma adventures. I liked the price, the reasonable amount of protection and they have a walking style tread for grip when picking the bike up lol.
I've had my high Forma ADV boots four years,they're great! Comfortable from day one,still waterproof upto to mid calf length and very reasonable protection too.When these wear out I won't look anywhere else.Fantastic boots that just do the job they're intended for!
Thanks for the video ! Love my first adventure boots (TCX Drifters) and ideal for my wide feet. Comfy to wear and walk around in all day, and they have been fabulous boots. As I was doing more challenging byways on my ADV bike I purchased some Alpinestars Tech 7 Drystars a year or so ago, and wear them if I am going out solely on lanes. I dropped my 220kg adv in wet grass on my ankle wearing the Tech 7's and got away with just soft tissue soreness.
Totally agree about the need for good boots. I ride a Tracer and a CB500x on the roads only. Two years ago when I bought the CB500x I decided to buy the Alpinestar Corozal adventure boots in case I did try a few lanes. They are fully waterproof and only get cleaned and polished once in the spring of the year. Never had wet feet since then and I ride through the winters in Devon. They are a bit on the rigid side to start with and a bit warm in the summer but fantastic protection is worth any negative points.
Great chat about boots that made so much sense, for me I use Alpinestar Gore-tex never had wet feel in the five years since iv had them but to be far I do look after them, but they are more of a touring boot and I wood like more protection But with protection come the feeling like your wearing concrete boots 🥴
Hi Nathan, Love this channel def no waffle just straight to the point honest opinions👍Ive had Sidi adventure boots in the past which have been good but i never like the fasteners buckles etc so I just bought a pair of Forma Adventure which i got for a steal...Done about 4000 mile this year on my 411 Himalayan a good percentage of that being green lanes and dirt tracks up in the Peak District with quite a bit of water with the rain we've had so far my feet have been bone dry the boots are very easy to get on and off and are very comfortable with thick soles that aid ground clearance the only negative is with them being so thick at the toe its difficult to get your toe under the gear shift lever specially on the Himalayan there isnt much room so i guess that's nothing to do with these boots more the bike. I could do with a replacement longer and adjustable gear lever that would do the trick. 10 out of 10 for these boots👍👍
I have the same boots you’re holding. Bought mine in 2019 and no leaks yet. Waterproof, comfort and tacky / gummy soles are just some of the reasons why I’m still in them. I hope when it comes to getting new ones there is something comparable. Thanks for sharing!
Sidi adventure boots are hard to beat performance wise. They are reasonably comfortable to walk in, stay waterproof and seem to last forever. Only downside is a very annoying squeak as you walk around in them, no amount of ACF spray lubrication on the overlapping plastic armour bits can stop it. A major consideration is how much walking you are going to do in your motorcycle boots. Everything in motorcycling is indeed a compromise.
I totally agree, my Sidi Adventures are strong, comfortable, waterproof and perform faultlessly all year round . . . except that bloody squeak! I'm so self conscious of the noise, wander around shops, the walk from my office to the bike park I'm seriously considering changing them. I've tried WD40, wax polish and like yourself ACF50 with no reduction in squeaking!!
Currently running Rev'it Everest Gore-Tex Boots have done 30,000 miles in all weather now, with a few water crossings and some very wet multiday rides. I never had a leak in them. Mostly do road riding but the occasional bit of landing too.
I love my Gaerne Dakar Goretex boots: excellent for price/quality/comfort/protection. One big advantage of Gaerne boots is that they are still made in Italy. Motoin is selling them at a very competitive price.
45 yrs riding and started with Derriboot mcb's basically a posh Welly. Later moved on to Sidi Courier boots absolutely brilliant and did a few enduros in them and lots of lanes. Now I have some Raxid low boots for localish rides and O'Neal sierra pro for multiday and they are brilliant. Comfortable and waterproof. I do use sealskyns socks with a thin lambs wool sock and in extreme cold use the long winter sealskyns and never cold or wet feet. I have just used walking boots on some trips also. Fingerless mechanix gloves for summer and I still have my MSR cold pro gloves for wet or cold weather. Outdoor walking trousers with some knee pads and a variation of budget armoured jackets. I use an Oxford waterproof over jacket or a one piece in very bad weather.

Gaerne Dakar GTX strikes the right balance for me, waterproof, comfortable on and off the bike, a bit of protection to help prevent twisting / folding at the ankle, and I think they look good as a bonus 👍
I picked up a pair of Sidi Adventure boots at a consignment store- I don’t know I would have paid the eye watering price new, but they are comfortable and year round waterproof; best boots I’ve ever had.
I manly trail ride in North Wales but also do some single day adventure rides, I think boot choice has a lot to do with intended use, where I live the trails are rocky so having good foot/leg protection is priority, I’ve been using Gaerne MX boots with knee high gecko waterproof socks and this combo works for me. Anyone considering MX boots they do take a little time to become comfortable but give them time and they will feel as comfortable as any other boot unless you do a lot of walking. 👍
Hi Nathan. Pretty much a fair weather rider now, although I’ve commuted on a bike all year round in the past. My boot of choice at the moment are Falco, think they’re the Patrol model. Short boot which are comfortable on the bike, comfortable off the bike, and I wear them as a casual boot even when I’m not on the bike. They are definitely waterproof as I found out on a recent trip to Italy, where it just rained for the whole 4 days me and the wife were there.
Bought a pair of Forma Adventures recently to replace my worn to death Revit Mission boots. Chose them for the decent amount of protection they offer for the relatively good price. Somewhat water resistant too, though the bulk of my problem is water getting into the boot from the top because I'm too lazy to put on rain overpants. Which I definitely should. The army jacket/overpants trick is 10/10. Heard my mechanic say he used to wear an Austrian army jacket over his protective gear, so I went and bought an from Varusteleka for 80 euros. It's awesome! Stops water and wind just as well as my rain gear with the added bonus of looking awesome and being very very comfortable.
Had a pair of Altberg Hogg Original for many years , limited protection but a good vibram sole and excellent for mountain hiking on rugged and snowy terrain . When touring multi purpose kit is the way to go imo
Sidi midi adv 2 goretex here. 3 years in, 40k miles, extensive wet weather riding, never leaked. Only polished with normal boot polish, maybe twice a year. I like the short length, not too heavy, good ankle protection.
I have a pair of Stylmartin trials boots in oiled brown like yours, they have to be one of the best and good value for general off roading and adventure riding. With a good treaded sole that you dont get on Enduro/MotoX boots. Take a look at them if you are after some new boots.
Good topic as usual, Nathan. I can`t afford cheap bike boots just like my hiking boots, and my trainers. atm I am wearing Wulf trials boots, admittedly mainly chosen because the shop is local and I support locals when possible. I like them, very protective, comfortable and great `feel` on brake and gear levers, which I prioritise over any other attribute.
SIDI Xpower Enduro boots. Ride a T7 so went for protection mainly. Taken a fair while to get used to as very little feeling due to being so stiff. I also have a pair of Gearne trails boots (like yours) which are definitely way more comfy. Tend to ride them when only on road and the Sidis for more off road stuff. Great video by the way👍
I'd steer clear of adventure boots. Find motocross boots with lugged soles which pivot at the ankle. Especially worth considering if you are riding something heavier than 500cc dirtbike on tougher offroad trails. I have some forma predator boots.
Alpine Stars Toucan boots for me. The Sid Adventure boots were not a good fit for my feet, but the Toucans have been great and comfortable enough when walking around without much squeaking!
Totally agree Nathan, Mike purchased a cheap boot and they leaked on the first ride, he took them back and exchanged them for the Sidi Adventure, no leaks after many rides paddling through the deep puddle green lanes. Worth spending the extra money.
Another brill video Nathan :) think this is a great idea I'm wearing, Dianese Axial Pros for the Nortons, an Alpinestar Belize which are great for the road adv stuff never had wet feet through winters but don't offer much in the way of ankle protection which is something I'm aware off with a 203kg t7 an greenlaning, so I've been looking at the AlpineStar Tech 7's with drystar and a set of pod Knee Braces after watching Adam Riemann's videos on them. I used to figure skate an had a really bad injury which stopped me going pro an skating, So always very pro protection, its only when you need it that you realise you are happy you had it I think. Be interesting to see if anyone else has used the Tech 7s? :)
Absolutely agree with your comments about the boots. I commute all year round on a 125 in winter and 800 in nicer months and after much faffing around with different brands and advice i landed on the perfect solution... Daytona Max Sports Goretex, worth every single penny. For longer rides i even bought another pair of Daytona's and everything got better from there. As for the kit, middle range kit is usually more than good for the job and waterproof overpotrousers and jacket from Oxford on top of waterproof kit keeps me dry in the most monsoon like weather we get. And a Royal Navy goretex jacket also is perfect on top of a riding jacket, giving extra windproof layer and waterproofing. See the Sunday and summer only riders wasting way too much money on designer kit and always have a giggle to myself at how much they spend to spend half a 'ride' posing outside a coffee shop before blasting down duals... Oops I'm digressing.. always enjoy your videos, common sense and trust your opinions. Keep it up mate.
Forma Terra Evo. Just because they were the only ones with a large enough foot box to fit my feet, a problem I have with all footwear. Everything else I tried just hurt my feet, some were agony, too narrow or too low a foot box. I went for the Terra Evo over the Adventure as I figured if I was going to get a high boot I might as well get a pair that offered the most crush protection. For storm trooper style boots I can walk reasonable well in them. I haven't submerged them yet so can't comments on their waterproofness. My last off-road style boots were a pair of trails boots from the dark ages. The Forma are easily as comfortable from new whilst offering more than the minimal protection offered by the vintage trials boots. I ended up with a pair 2 metric sizes larger than my Hi-tec walking boots, but the same size as my old trials boots. Footwear is definitely something to try before you buy!
Love my terra evos as well. Comfort blended with significant protection. Adventure is much softer and not enough for my current dusl sport riding@@davidfischer517
I wear Gaerne Balance classic trials boots with Sealskinz long socks for adventure and trials riding. Clean them regularly and apply wax. Supreme comfort
TCX waterproof motocross boots for the ankle protection. They were piggin expensive but as you say,the boots are the most important thing. But stiff at first but they do wear-in nicely. And Sealskinz knee-length waterproof socks so I don’t worry about the depth of streams too much. Jacket is a 20year old Triumph textile job. My bikes are Honda and Morini 😂😂.
I've had Toucans for years. Loved and still love them, but I needed the highest protection I can get....speaking of witch, usually a cheap mx is better then an expensive adv. My compromise(?) is the waterproof Tech 7's even for long miles on tarmac.
BMW Venturegrip boots. These are the model down from the GS enduro boot. This is my 2nd pair of BMW motorcycle boots. 100% waterproof. By the way i dont ride or own a BMW. I enjoy your content with the sub 500cc value for money ethos 👊
I wonder if anyone has used safety boots designed for construction workers? The rare usually waterproof, steel toecaps and reinforced. And a lot cheaper than motorcycle boots!
@@OGGrinskin I would have thought that there was an accident with sufficient force to collapse a steel toe cap that would be enough to collapse any foot without that protection. That after-all is the purpose of the steel?
Been wearing the Forma Adventure Low and Seal Skin socks for a while. Great until submerged, then they fill up and the water has no means of escaping. Have added gaiters which helps a bit (and holds my knee / shin guards in place well) but usually have boots full of water at the end of the day. However, with the simple application of some £7 Decathlon waterproof over trousers, pulled down over the boots, I've been through water up to the seat and feet have stayed dry. I also quite like knee length Seal Skin and Motocross boots, for tougher trails. Good protection, feet stay dry for the day, boots let the water out. Wouldn't want to do multiple days like that, but great for a day out.
Hi Nathan, I’ve got two pairs of boots I wear, TCX fuel and Sidi Gavia. Both are waterproof and have proved to be so! Neither are what I’d call an adventure boot and my experience of going off road is being by taken down one of those Devon lanes by you 🙂. I’d recommend both boots. The TCX have a more retro look. The Sidis are a classic touring boot and the boots I wear most of the time. I agree it’s worth spending a bit on boots.
Leatt 3.5 boots. Mostly riding rocky single trail so protection is important. My previous boots were the Sidi crossfire but they were quite heavy. The Leatt have polymer buckles and are very light by comparison. Still seem to do the job tho but early days on wear and tear. Comfortable boot with a low profile toe but steel shank and foot peg riding zone are rigid although that does make for comfort when standing on the pegs.
Very good comments you've made there. Marketing, marketing. Anyway, what's suit me is a pair of Sidi Adventure boots, an jacket with some protection, and a "salopette" style riding pants with somr protections (tested last winter on a icy patch). As for keeping dry, get down to your sailing gear shop. I'm still waiting for my jacket to leak after 10 years or more. Ride safe. Guy
I wear a Richa short trials boot on my Moto Guzzi V7, I prefer the quick release buckles better than zips which fail, also they slightly broader for my feet, Too many manufacturers make narrow fitting boots which are uncomfortable. For road use I bought a pair Richa ankle style lace up boots when I had a scooter, never again the laces kept on catching the hero bobs On the Guzzi when pulling away.
I agree with having to compromise; my choice of boot for most touring (road and gravel mainly with occasional rougher stuff) is the Forma Adventure. Now on my second pair, comfortable, mostly waterproof (one boot lets a little water in in very wet conditions), good walking off the bike, protection is moderate, but way better than a street boot. I don’t think there is any such thing as the perfect boot.
I wear gearne all terrains too. Got them predominantly for trials but end up using them for most things. Trail riding, road riding on the T7. I also have a pair of Daytona which I use on my sports bike. They are exceptional boots but don’t really like the style and not as comfortable as the Gearne for off the bike. That said I am going on an all road trip to Spain in the summer and will be on the bike loads so will probably use the Daytona then for the extra protection.
German army para boots make for great biker boots, warm, waterproof and decent support/protection. Been wearing them for years and never had wet or cold feet.
i will stick with alpinestars tech7 drystar for water , comfort, protection - ran forma dominator2 for about 7 years, they were great boots and strong enough to hurt a tank but i do love my tech7 a whole lot more
Gaerne enduro for me. I fall off a lot. Not bothered about waterproofing as I don’t do multi day trips and my experience on wet lanes and fords is that the water often goes over the top of the boot anyway.
I generally have given up on waterproof boots for our climate in the UK... If I'm riding trails, I don't go gung ho into puddles, I find that largely the splash will be higher than the boot and once water is in the boot then they're waterproof both ways. I however for a trail/ adventure boot do want a stiff and braced ankle so that lead me to the leatt 4.5 enduro boot with long waterproof socks... For all day riding I find the boot comfortable enough. If I'm on an adventure where I'm likely to go for a hike, city site seeing etc... I run altberg Hoggs. Yes protection level is dropped... It needs to be functional too.
TCX BAJA get my vote. Light off road but mainly road use for me. They keep my feet dry and warm in most weather but always dry. Only thing I don't like about them is the bulky plastic shin guard. They make it a snug fit for my trousers to come over the top. I'm guessing some trousers won't fit over. Besides that, I'd recommend them Nathan.
Daytona M star as they give me 25mm less seat height or bring the ground up 25mm …. Helps to flat foot. So far been waterproof but I’m visiting you on Thursday so I expect them to fail me on your lanes !!
Sound video, I'm with you on cheaper gear.... but my boots are TCX X5 Goretex around £200 and fully waterproof. Richa rainwarrior trousers and jacket at around £60 and average price armoured jacket and trousers. The TCX also protected my foot very well, when van drive knocked me off.

I am going to go slightly off topic - agree that boots and helmet are most important for gear items, but if the budget is limited, spend it on correct fork & shock springs if you weigh 180lbs (82kg) or more - for offroad riding. The suspension will prevent the fall 80% of the time. What you wear only comes into play when you fall.
Got myself Fox Comp 5 motocross boots for safety only. Did not expect it to be that chalenging to get used to it. Had to modify shifter position to be able to shift up - can barely bend at ancle. Hope it will get better with wear, seen comment sugesting that. Well at least it feels like a tank could roll over and feet should be fine...
Hi. My Fox Comp 5s cracked through the plastic panels on the inner ankle areas. No flex whatsoever. Felt very secure in them tho, but little feel for the shifter. Replaced by Sidi Adv 2. Good payoff between protection and comfort. And yes, they squeak.
Have been using TCX Drifter boots for the last couple of years on the trails. Great boots but waterproofing is on its way out. I’ve actually just bought a good second hand pair of Alpinestar Tech 7 MX boots. After speaking to some people I’m wondering if the pros outweigh the cons with them. Definitely more supportive , and feel it in the trail while standing up,with also better protection. Not as comfortable but I’ll give them a try before investing in ADV boots again
wore AXO MX boots busted buckle on the ankle area of the right boot did an unexpected planned drop off on a KTM 450 busted tib and fib 5 ops 9 months off work about a month in the hospital, never run since pretty much always can feel it sometimes can barely walk, that was nearly 20 years ago. Today I have a bit of a collection SIDI x fire for a trailride even 2 weeks in Spain, I'd rather walk about stiffly than someone else carry me, be aware these are largely plastic where they contact the bike and on a GS12 the seat too and will hurt it my seat cover wore through. light trails got Sidi advs were waterproof but not for that long, practical otherwise. absolutely loved TCX infinity on the road the originals bought after ride mag rec, warm, comfortable,100% waterproof for 1000's perhaps 70K untill just recently and maybe 7 years but who counts, stitching failed, gutted been repaired but the gortex liner obviously holed other boot still good, as I ride all year no car and suffer from poor blood circulation and an injury Cold is tuff so got another pair a size bigger for more socks still good but much less use, disscontinued today. used diadora stone trials boots in the past -tuff, cheapie rst, falco, crap. aquired cheap used forma adv's waterproof so far and better quality than similarish o'neils also waterproof but early days on them. as all its not a simple equation, but if your going out on proper trails go protection above everything else- at least midrange MX boots. always a real world chat here.
After over 50 years of wearing all sorts, I can't agree more about boots being the place to invest. You can get protection and warmth for very little money (staying cool can cost a bit more) lightweight waterproofs needn't be expensive, but good boots are really worth paying for, whatever type you choose.
Had 2 pair of Sidi Adventure boots and after around 3 years of lightish use they have both leaked. Goretex did replace the first pair but have not bothered with the second pair. I do like the boots otherwise.
I bought some giudici motocross boots 40 years ago..... They were in the shop so I bought them. I had them re soled 20 years ago. They still fit. They will probably outlast my legs
Totally understand that. They aren't cheap. I justify it because I spend so much time in them. It's worth the investment. But if I wanted to save cash I'd probably look for a second hand pair of good boots rather than new cheaper ones.

This sets the stage for those watching to see where they can base their requirements compared to what you have said. This beats any Journo review which is based on short term access to bikes and kit along with 10's of other reviews they do on Their experience. Waffle on matey, I love it, more information in a waffle they you can believe. I do blood biking 24/7/365 so boots get knackered in winter, 2 years life. I go for boots with a broader fit and 1/2 size up for thick comfy socks and sealskins in winter for warmth. Always try boots on and walk a few paces in them as your feet spread, never get tight boots. All makes get good and bad quality at times so buy from reputable sellers where you can get good after sales service.
TCX X-Helium Michelin. Why do I wear them? Because Nathan said I had to have decent protective boots to go on a Sweet Lamb course! Waterproof? No. Protective? Yes, and I feel that in a crash they’d be as good as anything could be (that matters a lot to me). Would I buy them again? Maybe. I don’t ride in the rain (except on a Sweet Lamb course..) and I’m not off-road a lot. I don’t go fast and I’m an old git. Would I consider the boots you’re using Nathan? Maybe, but as I approach 80y.o. I’m not likely to need another pair. These suit my usage, I guess. Thanks Nathan, always good sense from your videos. Les
i have sidi adventures for more touring and light offroading thay did well gs topyh. i have sidi crossfires sr2 for harder offroading i was solo offroading i use crossfires. im same i old rst textiles for holes in them but all importan bits stay dry. i have knox armor with waterproof hiking jacket if i feel it going to get wet. i think i moveing to armor i pick i want on top.
Very nice! Thank you for this. I am looking for hybrid boots as I plan to do mainly back lanes and some tamer green laning in the UK (I'm a noob). Likely on the Himalayan. I'd like soft and nimble like your Gaerne's - but something that may have some more ankle protection without being fully armored like mx boots. Anyone on here have thoughts about this? I ride an old xl175 for green laning and find standard off road boots just don’t work and I can’t operate the gear lever. As such I wear good ex military boots which I find pretty good
Had different Gaerne's long way in the past and loved them. Now on Sidi Adventures, which do everything that they're supposed to, (comfortable, waterproof, protective) but that extra bonus that they didn't tell you about ....the squeak...drives me crazy, I've tried all sorts of fixes to no avail...does anyone have a cure for the Sidi squeak????
Forma Adventure boots. Bought because I had forma mx boots before and they were awesome. But the Forma Adventure boots are meh, they are not waterproof and don't offer a lot of protection, and I need to replace them. Going back to motocross boots, harder to walk in, but top protection. Can always wear plastic bags over your socks if waterproof is required anyway.
First pair I got Formas hopefully last me three years or so. (As a beginner) P.s handguards and engine bars are on..what am I waiting for? Good question😂
I think you raised a good question there about helmets. I an expensive helmet better then a cheep one? Who knows. There seems to be limited info out there when it comes to helmets. Sharpe ratings dont seem very upto date, is DOT better than ece 22.06. Would a £600 Arai be better than a £100 MT? Who knows? All I can see is that if you spend more the helmet seems a little more plush.
Definitely. I've had a few Arai Tour X4s and currently wear a Shoei, but I also have a LS2 worth £80 that's just as comfy. Will it work if I fall off? Can't see why not.
Now Nathan This has nothing to do with footwear but just weighing the triumph up behind you , do you ride these new bikes straight out of the box or do you set the suspension up ? I have recently been down a rabbit hole of you tube suspension advice and in the end thought it’s beyond me and I’ll just ride my bike as it comes . Thoughts !
Yeah I just tend to ride them as they come. I did crank a bit of preload on the Triumph, and also on the Himalayan. I had a bit of play with the fully adjustable forks on the Morini and 390 Adventure, but the high tech stuff on the 310 GS with the Rally Raid kit is wizardry to me; high/low speed compression etc. Within reason, if a bike rides well on stock suspension set up, then to me it means that it's been well set up and developed from the factory.
Thanks mate I had sort of come around to that myself but your more experienced than me , On the subject of boots I kicked off my riding career in Dunlop trials masters , these days waterproofing is my first consideration I like the Gehens
I can't believe it's not Booter.😂 ( That was a facetious joke). In all seriousness look for Boots made of Microfibre. Something like the Sidi Gavia. They look very much like Leather but aren't. However make sure they fit perfectly because they don't stretch or give the way Leather does.
