Adventure Playground Interviews: Richard Dattner 

Adventure Playground in Central Park opened in 1966 and it was designed by renowned architect Richard Dattner. Richard sat down with me on a perfect autumn day in 2022 to discuss this place and his approach to designing a playground. Adventure Playground is the first of many playgrounds that he designed in Central Park in the 1960s and 1970s. In this interview, he discusses his influences and his approach to play.
