Played this a lot as a kid with my brother and sister in law. We never got super far. I got to stage 3 or 4 or some shit But man it gets rough later on. Such a weird premise for a game and the execution is so damn far from the book it's funny

The game itself made no sense, but I had a lot of fun playing through this one as a kid. I haven't yet had the chance to re-acquire it again, but will soon enough.

Very impressed by the videos here. Keep up the great work Dave! You should try Crash n the Boys: Ice Challenge or Ike Ike! Nekketsu Hockey Bu as its known in Japan in Famicorner. Very fun, wacky arcade hockey game from the Kunio Kun series.

Tom Sawyer isn't terrible but it isn't great, either. Because it's supposed to be all a dream is the excuse for it having little to nothing to do with the original story. The music is decent enough. And that's one ENORMOUS gator!

That game looks really fun but my parents would probably make me read the original book 1st if I asked for it so.... not risking it, only books I enjoy are Ready player 1 and comic books. they did that when I asked to see The Hunger Games movies. Also what's with the barrels in stage 1? is DK on the loose?

Credit where credit is due, and something I'm surprised you didn't comment on: the music in there was actually pretty fascinating for NES era tunes. Interesting not choices, and with a decently dreamy quality from the selections you used.

Another game I've never seen before. Game Dave is a real connoisseur of the vintage novelty cheese. Like a mass produced processed cheese substance, certain games seem to be just as cheesy today as they were 28 years ago, if not more.

Had completely forgotten this one. I was like "sweet! A Nes-game I've never played!" Then I saw those graphics and the memories from my magic years of emulation (the early 2000s) just flooded in.
