The part about the university gave me so much hope, I’ve always thought that I needed to get into a really great university in order to make it to medical school. Thanks so much for your advice, I will definitely use it!!!!

@@DaniKilani wow, I’m sure you’re so smart. Is it possible if I go to Ryerson University and still make it to medical school?

@@madisonwest4173 Thanks! It's definitely possible. You can go anywhere for undergrad in Canada and then apply to medicine. What really matters is keeping up your GPA, becoming involved in a way meaningful to you and potentially becoming involved in research. All three are possible at Ryerson. Admissions committees don't care about the name behind your degree (assuming it's a legit university haha)

Hello Dani! Wonderful video! I am currently a High school student in Ontario sitting at a 93% average with above level courses. Do u think it helps if I take gr 12 courses in grade 11? Like calculus, physics, adv. functions?
@DaniKilani
@DaniKilani 3 года назад
Hey Abdelrahim! Sorry if this response is a little too late. I took some grade 12 courses in grade 11, specifically biology and math (In Alberta the courses have different names). I think the main benefit was having more time in Grade 12 to focus on the last few important courses you still have left. It also could give you more time to write applications for universities and scholarships. Also, it sounds like you're doing well academically so I wouldn't worry about the difficulty. Hope this helps!

Hi Dani, I almost done my first semester of uni but my marks aren’t as good as they should be and I think my average is around 79% to 80%. I know that’s not good but do you think it is still possible for me to get a high gpa in the next few semesters with good habits and still get into a med school in year 3 or 4?
@DaniKilani
@DaniKilani 3 года назад
That's understandable it can be difficult transitioning from high school into university. I think it's definitely possible for you to make a come back in second semester going forwards. As you have more semesters under your belt, your first semester marks won't be as important. You'll could also show an upward trend in marks which is something some med schools will appreciate. For now, take some time to reflect on your study strategies and look for ways to improve them. Feel free to also check out my video on ways to improve grades, which I think you may find helpful: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fAvSLzKso2s.html
