Juniors devs always have that constant push for proving themselves and being fast. This is really good advice

I agree, I wasted soo much time trying to prove myself when I first started, it’s never a good idea

My advice to junior devs look for other jobs. Most of software jobs are require mid or senior level in the current market

I agree, you should always be interviewing

Any idea why junior positions are scarce atm? And if we can expect things to get better?

@@Argull89 economical reasons I guess, companies want to pay only experienced candidates, yes It will get better once economy recover itself. It may take 5 years to get that point...

Haha, that's bang on man. I am mentoring an intern right now and I relate to what you are saying. in fact all them just want to code as fast as possible without really understanding what the heck is going on.

Do you have any advice for a junior developer starting off in a remote position? (Me). It’s been a serious challenge, and I’m concerned that it’s going to stunt my career growth.

What part of remote work are you finding challenging? In terms of technical skills, i feel that they can be developed better when working remotely as you have a lot more time as there isn't any commuting, so from that aspect, i think it is all good. In terms of networking though, i feel it is easier to do so in person than remotely, and sad reality is that those that are close or liked by management the most are the ones who get promoted. You have to really "shout" about what work your doing/ solving, otherwise it goes unnoticed in my experience. there is a good video on "playing the game" by another creator, i'll link it in the comments once i find it again, it's worth the watch - link here (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-W7sv1m-U2tk.html)

take multiple jobs/projects and make as much money as you can in the next 3 years. Invest it all in AI stocks

The best advice is: Get an actual profession. Go to law school or med. If not, get a CFA and go for hedge fund. Programming is garbage.

May I know why you say programming is garbage?

You’re hilarious. We live in the age of technology where softwares are practically fucking money printers and you think it’s not a ‘real profession’ you must be old as fuck or stupid as fuck.
