Fifth grade math teacher Sally Winchester of KIPP New Orleans, who is a nine year KIPP veteran and recent recipient of KIPP's Harriett Ball Excellence in Teaching Award, shares her advice for the newest members of the KIPP Team & Family. Her advice reinforces our belief that excellent teachers are continuous learners. Specifically, we believe that an excellent teacher:
• Seeks feedback and data early and often and adjusts. (GET IT AND USE IT)
• Researches, observes, experiments, shares, and collaborates. (PANS FOR GOLD)
• Sets and achieves big and small goals for professional growth. (GROWTH MINDSET)
• Takes advantage of learning experiences both in and out of school (SHARPENS THE SAW)
