For those that are interested, there is an S-Rank Support feature in Engage. All you need to do is beat the 15th and final paralogue to unlock it.

While the skirmishes are kinda BS, I recommend trying the skirmishes labeled "training". While it is still a swarm of enemies, your units will not die and instead retreat (even on classic). You will also get bonus XP at the end of the mission!

Well, units that “die” won’t get that bonus EXP. So you still kinda have to make the decision if you want to keep going without them; if that bonus 50 exp matters to you, and if it matters on that character, you might want to.

For Lyns doubles I learned that if all of them die you can recast call doubles again which is awesome! It’s not a once per engage skill like I assumed.

I discovered earlier today that the arena (and collectables) reset after tempest trials (as they are considered battles. This means that if you desperately need materials, sp, or exp; some time auto-battling on level 1 of tempest will reset the Somniel. It doesn't help for money, but it's the best thing when skirmishes are too much. At first, I thought Lyn's doubles needed to be in range for chain attacks, but they can literally be across the map. And since Byleth can dance Seadall, there re some pretty humorous emblem interactions. I'm dedicated to making Chloé untouchable, but I pairing Lief's arm's shield with a qi adept user gives them protection against 3 weapons. I believe this stacks with gentility from Eirika and bow guard from the house leaders. Tiki's starsphere and lifesphere do stack with similar skills. And there is virtually no downside to Micaiah's staff mastery and Celica's tome precision. I do wish that sp and gold were an easier to obtain resource on hard+ as someone who likes to play till 100%...

I really wish skirmishes didn’t bum rush you. It makes it a pain in the ass to do them even with your good units on higher difficulty. It does become more manageable if you use corin alot on alear, but it’s still a pain in the ass. I don’t know why they couldn’t program the Ai ti just send packs ar a tine and not the whole map.

@Avery Walsh honestly i expect them to nerf it all instead, 10k to make an S ring is ridiculous, 50k to cap a reputation as well, all without new game+ just makes it essentially pointless and too grindy, same as SP skills.
@ElijahLotusShield
@ElijahLotusShield Год назад
I thought enemies bum rushing you set good map pacing. I always thought maps that gives people breathing room is boring since there is turns where I just do nothing but shuffle units around. before initiating the next group. If everyone runs at me, the map feels exciting. Also this entire game (looking at the break system) favors player aggression and player phase, having everyone running at the player encourages player to play aggressive and kill as many enemy as they can to not get overwhelmed on enemy phase. I could be biased since my favorite FE map of all time is chapter 10 on conquest lunatic. That map forces people to play aggressive because everyone just run at you.

The fact that I can't take my time to level every unit to make all of them viable has killed my hype for the game. What's the point of making all of those characters, support levels, unique stories and skills to use only twelve of them? The way skirmishes work in this game is definitely a problem

@lancerguy3667
@lancerguy3667 Год назад
I managed to juggle the cast all the way up until the middle game before it truly just became an impossible task. As long as you don’t let anyone fall super behind the skirmishes won’t overwhelm anyone… but if you do that you have to be careful, because even on hard mode you risk completely destroying the difficulty of the main campaign. More than anything, it’s farming supports that’s hell. Why take away bond points during enemy phase!? As if it wasn’t hard enough.
@LAZERAK47V2
@LAZERAK47V2 Год назад
Rushing Skirmishes are nothing new (that's how they operated in Awakening), but in that game, the scaling for Skirmishes was much better. For whatever reason, they kinda borked the level scaling on Skirmishes in this game (it's not uncommon for them to be several levels above recommended compared to the next story mission) and I believe it's because the Skirmishes scale based on available missions, including Paralogues. So when you unlock Lucina's, they scale to that level, which is substantially higher than the next story mission. Another factor that doesn't help is the sheer volume of flying unit spam, especially on certain maps (Bridge in Brodia, Escape map in Elusia, that one also comes with scattered spawns and Fog, hands down the worst Skirmish map in the game). Flying unit spam totally ruins all forms of strategy, since they'll just rush your units and ignore terrain, making the most viable way to fight them to just solo them with a tank and a bunch of Physic staves. It wasn't fun in Tiki's Paralogue in Awakening and it's not fun now. Maps can be wonderfully designed, but 25 Flying units makes them all feel exactly the same.

I will say the first firine map is great because it’s the rare moment of a map having a one tile choke point. If you use a tank like Louis vander or bunet to block the bridge you start at and bring some flier killers you can easily train up even a low level unit. It’s basically the only way to catch up a dropped unit not named Hortencia.
@byleth9565
@byleth9565 Год назад
You can also use the tempest trials to help get some more exp from completing them, as well as the area. It's really helpful for low level units to level up and you can adjust the difficulty of the trials

A advice I have is remember to make bond rings and don't wait until the last minute you only gain SP through emblem rings or bond rings if you don't have them equip then the character will not gain any SP. If you are worried about spending bond points, don't worry there is an exploit so you can get S rings. There are videos explaining about it. Another advice I have concerns Yunaka and Seadall. If you want to change there class, be a 100% sure if you are willing to go through it since no one talks about it but to change class to thief or dancer which are advance classes require a level of 40, which is not easy to get too.

I abuse the hell out of call doubles. Enemies will always target them in my experience. Which means it just blows 4 units turns. Sometimes they miss the double and get counter attacked to. I've even had the doubles crit and kill when this happens.

@ElijahLotusShield
@ElijahLotusShield Год назад
I played on maddening, from what I have seen, the game gives you a lot of unit that will straight up be better than the current unit we own since they come at a higher level on default, therefore, its better to funnel exp into unit that you like to leave some space to swap out unit when better unit comes in. This game isnt like 3 houses, this game gives you good unit throughout the entire game up till chapter 22. You are expected to replace units in this game, so its better to just keep a core group funneled exp and leave a couple unit at the side ready to be benched to not waste exp.

I bet they'll improve SP economy..... in the paid DLC and not as a patch. Also 2 skills + 1 class skill you don't even unlock??? It's a bit shit because it forces you to be optimal, not fun :(
@takarahayashi4124
@takarahayashi4124 Год назад
should've left a disclaimer about promoting early: you'll automatically receive the promotion experience penalty, so experience gains will be slower for a bit after promoting. And Maddening with fixed growths, it behaves rather differently. For example, Anna as a mage will gain 14 pts of magic in 19 levels vs 15 pts of magic as a sage. the difference is extremely negligible. Because of how the experience curve works, second sealing can really damage your gains. It'll store your internal levels, until you hit that experience cap, where no matter what you'll only gain 1 exp per action and 3 per kill. if you class change early and don't have the opportunity to second seal and relevel again, you can potentially lose out on 10 levels of gains. Let's put this in real numbers to easy understand the comparison, Using Anna as an easy example due to her absurd growth rates, Anna should be second seal ASAP, when you get your first second seal, so she'll start as a level 1 mage. level 20 / 1 Sage with class change stat bump: +16 mag level 20/20 Sage +31 Mag Early promote would depend on how you do it, you can either second seal and then master seal, or just level her as a axe fighter then class change her with a master seal. Depending on how you want to allocate resources. If Fighter 10 / 1 sage +4 Mag lf lvl fighter 10/20 sage +19 Mag In this comparison it's easy to see this is the least optimal way to train. +19 mag is paltry in comparison to +31 mag. If mage 10/1 sage +8 Mag If mage 10/20 Sage +24 Mag If second seal to high priest, so 10/20/10, +30 Mag total. In the end, on fixed growth Maddening, going 20/20 mage/sage has the highest output for Anna. But really though, in the end there's a ton of nuance with fixed rate maddening, it really comes down to the character and classes they're working with. Some characters benefit more than others with early promotion. And it also comes down to how desperately you need the stat boosts. TBH the stat boosts aren't dramatic, +1 to all stats (+2 for some primary, typically STR or MAG). Like for instance, I think Chloe needs to be master sealed ASAP, as her STR falls behind rather quickly. And needs the early help.

I was doing relatively fine on Hard Classic up until Chapter 17 and oh boy is that chapter hard for me. Spoilers ahead. Man, this stage is nuts! The ranged Fell Wyrms with the 5 range breath attack, the Fire and 6 bosses? What an insane stage. Griss and Marni were relatively easy to take down, but then Mauvier. I don't know if I just got unlucky, but he decided the best way to mess with me is to Nosferatu tank my entire army! Eventually I was able to beat him but not before the rest of the bosses starts running towards me and I get swarmed by the last 3. I still haven't beaten the stage. I decided to go grind for a bit and get some levels and hopefully some money for refines. If anyone has any tips for the stage, I'd love to hear them because outside of just leveling up, I don't know what I can do.

Lyn clones is a savior in this because as long as none of your units can be one shotted, they will attack them instead! Which helps you survive getting overwhelmed by enemies and buy you time As well as utilizing status staves I.E Freeze helps immensely when it comes to stopping the bosses from all overwhelming you or silence can render an enemy to be unable to use magic at all (which would help you with Mauvier)
@shadow_yato
@shadow_yato Год назад
Also for Zephia, I recommend to do Lyn’s paralouge because it allows you to unlock her special bow that deals effective dragon damage (I can’t recall the name) So it allows you to snipe her from afar w/ astra, and when she gets close you can deal big damage to her again
@Slenderquil
@Slenderquil Год назад
I just moved all my units up towards griss and took the bosses on one by one. You can bait out zephia alone and use one unit to bait a dragon away from her, made hyacinth and veyle go on to other sides of a house and used ice wall to keep veyle distracted while I dealt with Hyacinth. Mavier is the toughest, you need to keep him as far away from marni as possible
@rakurai4953
@rakurai4953 Год назад
@@Slenderquil I had initially thought about baiting out Zephia from around where Griss stands, but with her having Sigurd's ring with Canto, she'd move out of range of most of my units and I didn't think I'd be able to finish her off quick enough with that limitation.
@rakurai4953
@rakurai4953 Год назад
@@shadow_yato I had thought about using Status Staves in order to stall the rest of the bosses, but I needed to focus most of my Magic units on Mauver and healing because they did more consistent damage than my physical units. By the time I beat Mauver, they were about 1 turn away and I didn't think I could stop them all consistently while also healing my team from Mauver's attacks

My advice: Make Alear a Thief, give them Corrin's Ring, Drop Fog every turn, then kill everything with Anna. At 180+ Avoid, enemies on Maddening will leave Alear alone. Using the hundreds of thousands of gold you get from this, by the way, you can get MAX CASH on Celica's Paralogue. Buy Obstruct Staves to train the other characters, use Micaiah's for non-healers. An easy way to beat the Final Boss is to sit your dodge tank Alear near him. With the +5, S Rank Dagger. I think it's from a Chapter 25 chest? There are healers, but ignore them. They'll run out of staff uses eventually. Use Anna to kill all but one of his shield guardians, and keep summoning fog with Alear for about 200 turns. The boss will die. After killing the last boss on Maddening, you get infinite Skirmishes.

@tristanmiller9250 Год назад
Yeah I really wish they tweaked the amount of sp you get by at least 50 percent. By endgame you would be lucky to have 4000 total on a unit you've used your entire run when a max skill costs 5000.
