In this episode of Ask Doug, pastor Doug Wilson answers the question, "What is your advice on starting a school?" Ask Doug is presented by Canon Press.
I was trying to figure out was implying this? If you want to attract Parents who are doing their job-is this code for Parents working and can afford the high tuition so that the school is in control and no dependence on state aid as opposed to Parents who are not doing their job and can't afford tuition which translate into a school taking in kids on vouchers or Title 9 and this allows to much government input?
#askdoug In the Lord's prayer it says" Forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors." I've heard it explained as "If you are forgiven, you will forgive." But that initially sounds exactly opposite to how it is phrased here, it sounds almost legalistic, can you please clarify that?
#askdoug in different Presbyterian churches, I've seen them pray "and deliver us from evil," or "Deliver us from the evil one." Which do you consider is the right translation?
I understand it to be translated from "the evil one", i.e. from Satan. But ask yourself why, obviously because he is the embodiment of evil. So both work.
