Great presentation Terry. Your reaction to the power and FPE lauds the AEA's performance so well!!! I look to the future of this rifle, mostly if regulated for a tad better shot-to-shot consistency in speed, therefore, greater accuracy and precision in marksmanship when paper punching or hunting. Is there a regulator kit for that gun? I've been falling in love with this gun for the last 7 months and I just had to make the purchase. Hoping that a regulator kit is on the way if not I'll live with what I got. This will be my ultimate hunting baby.
This is all fine and dandy, and I see there is a new regulated version out now for more $$. But where are the 50/100 yard accuracy tests? Power is fine but if you can't hit the broadside of a barn it is useless. Any links to target shooting?
A regulator will help when target shooting but will decrease your FPS and FPE which you want the highest when hunting. Hunting pcps never have a regulator at this point in time for a reason.
@@SK-me9by What good is a non regulated air rifle for hunting? Every shot at a different speed sucks and is very bad for hunting causing misses or cripples. I hunt hogs with air rifles every week year round and refuse to use my Challenger until the regulator comes out for it just like all the other AEAs. You can do what you want.
@@stedyone1090 Unregulated hunting pcp guns produce max power/FPE 3 good shots. If you need more then 2 shots to take a deer you shouldn't be hunting. Using a regulated pcp to hunt that is not designed to do so will cause unnecessary suffering of the animal. How do you think a regulated pcp using under 3000psi will give you a ethical kill verse one that is unregulated at 4500psi. First off once you put a regulator on your Challenger it will be producing under most states required FPE. Do what you want. I think you would serve yourself better by doing a little more research. @@SK-me9by Research and records show those 3 shots can vary a lot, especially past 50 yards... and past 75 yards is huge...Watch any Mr Hollowpoint video or Michigan airgunner. Most if not all hunters in thousands of videos prefer a well regulated air rifle. Where have you been? The very word UNREGULATED says it all.
@@stedyone1090 Where have you been? The AEA guns are not designed to be a regulated Hunter. The ones that are regulated are focused around shot count and target shooting NOT hunting. I own Two AEA bigbore the HP Max in .457 and the Challenger bullpup also in .457 They simply don't offer a regulator at this time for these "AEA" guns that will produce legal FPE for hunting (big game). You'll need at least maybe 3600psi per shot and from what I have found the regulators are around 2600 or less. Please don't try and act smarter then what you are, FYI Mr Hollowpoint said himself that he would not use the regulator they have available for his Challenger for when hunting for the reasons I pointed out. Now go re-watch his Challenger regulator test video. With one exception "Special Customized Regulated AEA ZEUS 58/72 Cal"
Where did you get the aea brand slugs would love to get some of them for their own rifles that might alleviate a lot of other issues? DM me please if possible thank you very much
by the way , what is the actual bore diameter so we know which slugs will work ahead of time. is it .456/.454/.452/or .450diameter? this will really help when someone is looking for jut the right 45/70hollow base bullet mol. nope i am buying the .50(.495) and using a 12.5mm carbide drill bit on the .454 molds and using them in the .495 barrel at .492, or putting them into the pres and adding a hollowpoint and pressing them out to .495 with the resizing ring while adding the hollowpoint. it is a 400grain slug and the front half is .454dia and the midle is between.492-.495 ideas arewonderful eh. .
