I've been using the Aeotec MS6 sensors with ceiling recess mounts for years and I absolutely love them. I run them from USB power. Absolutely the best.

Totally agree, a great sensor that is often overlooked. And at $77AU that's a steal !!

@@smart_home_australia definitely. Since all of mine are USB powered they form a super reliable and fast zwave network

One side question, do you actually mind that these are not mmWave sensors? While I see the benefits of these type of sensors, I do think that a solid PIR sensor in these cases is just as good, if not better.

@@smart_home_australia@smart_home_australia one of the great features of these Aeotec sensors is the fast detection speed for both movement and no movement. Using an automation with mode: restart gives great results for people not moving much in an area. I have however paired them with mmWave sensors in two locations to improve this. One being my ensuite because the MS6 alone was not good enough when I'm standing in the shower barely moving, and the other the kitchen because standing at the bench cutting veggies etc wasn't enough motion to retrigger the automation. Otherwise these Aeotecs are great.

I have one that I’m not using. I’m using motion sensors to turn lights on and off when stepping out of bed, and the 30s waiting time is too long. Been very happy with my trisensors that have a 10s cooldown.

I believe they set this at 30 seconds to preserve the battery life, but you can set this in configuration from 1 to 30 seconds. Its available in the configuration under parameter 2. Check out the pdf user guide available at the bottom of the page on aeotec.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/6000232605-multisensor-7-user-guide.

@@smart_home_australia Thank you for your answer. Unfortunately, I need parameter 3 to be set to 10s. I use these types of sensors to turn on (and off) lights under the bed when we get up during the night. The motion detection turns the light on, the rest-status turns the light off. With a miminum timeout time of 30s, it's too long. The Trisensors can time out after 10s and have been doing so for 2 years without battery changes.

My partner loves the underbed lights, no more stumbling around late at night.

Is this comment against the correct video?? This is a review of the MS7, we don't go into SSL or companion app in this video.
