Just ordered mine today. I have Codofbell xpod and I see that Aer City Sling is much sleeker and cleaner for daily carry... I love the X-Pod but want something little bit smaller.. Love Aer's work
Thanks for posting that advert on RU-vid on 30/10/19 informing us that the City Sling was due to be back in stock today (31/10/19). I just ordered one. Your review made me choose this sling bag. Having done some extensive research, I think this is the best small sling available. For those unfortunate enough not to get their hands on one (I'm sure they will sell out soon) an alternative for a small sling (although in my opinion not as good) would be the Incase Side Bag.
You got it, Ogotuwa! Thanks for sharing this with us, we're glad you found the review useful and that it helped you decide on which sling will work for you. Let us know what you think of the Aer City Sling when it arrives! 😊🙌 - Rebecca
I did order them too. It just arrived. I have a question though. Does your city sling front big zipper stiff or difficult to slide open/close? Mine is significantly stiffer than other zippers in the bag.
good review. just received the x-pac version of the city sling and it's excellent. the zipper pulls seem to be a hard plastic or similar so not as jingly jangly as others I've heard and they are great pulls - very easy to find and use when you're wearing it. the materials and design are fantastic .. interior design is great and materials are superb inside & out. I am not an oversize build but when I have it on as a sling, there's not that much webbing left over for the elastic keepers to move around a lot so that doesn't seem to be an issue. I did replace the key clip with a nite ize slidelock #3 in black - the split ring fits right on to the loop where aer attached theirs and then I get a spring loaded black metal clip to use for my keys - big improvement as that was maybe the only weak spot on the sling. the size is perfect for EDC and overall this is a big winner.
This is awesome, thanks for sharing your experience with us here, Dave! Digging your modification with the key clip too, it's all about making your pack work in the best way for you. 😊🙌 - Rebecca
Thanks for yet another excellent review. You do an excellent job on Aer gear, by the way. I like the sling and wear it over either shoulder but I don't care for it as a lumbar/fanny pack at all. Its just too big for me in that way. Nothing IMHO tops my Matador hip pack for a fanny pack if you just want to carry a cell, wallet and keys, keep it light, close to the body and minimal. Have you ever tried the Matador?
You got it, Nathan! We're glad you're digging the review. Thanks for sharing your experience with the community, we're glad you've been able to make the Aer City Sling work for you. Yes, we hear you! We've tested the Matador Hip Pack packhacker.com/travel-gear/matador/hip-pack/ - is this the one you're referring to? 😊 - Rebecca
50mm wide strap paired with such small capacity, the result is extremely comfortable wearing. especially when you compare this strap with day sling 2. wish day sling 3 got a wider strap. maybe some padding?
Hey xderiwx - thanks for sharing! We currently have no plans to create a video like this in the immediate pipeline, but I'll pass this onto the team. 😊👍 - Rebecca
Really enjoyed your review and agree with all the Pros you pointed out. While I don't care for the size of the day sling, I can appreciate the configuration of the straps. I find my city sling usually has one strap somewhat bunched up when wearing it on my chest as both just come out either side of the pack. To make the "hidden" pocket more concealed, I decided to remove the zipper pull from that pocket and the zipper practically disappears. Great video guys...keep up the good work!
Glad you're digging the review, Jesters Cap! And, thanks for sharing your experience with us. We're so glad that you've been able to adapt this sling, to make it work better for you. Removing the zipper pull to make the pocket more concealed is a great tip! 😊👍 - Rebecca
I agree, City Sling is a legit piece of gear. I did pick it up, but returned it due to me needing something slightly bigger, and the strap cutting into my shoulder/neck. I confirmed it DOES fit my 12oz Hydraflask coffee tumbler, along with my other stuff, but that puts it at a maxed out size and it didn't feel right. I saw this as a means to have a couple of things that you'd possibly carry in your pockets, moved to the bag, which is great! The build quality was top notch, and I agree with your points otherwise.
Right on Steve! What sling did you end up with in the end / how many did you test to get there? (If you're not still searching, that is 🙂). I remember at the meetup you have the Tortuga Outbreaker Daypack - has that been replaced with your new sling? - Tom
Hey haldir380 - we've just tested this out with the Amazon Kindle Voyage packhacker.com/travel-gear/amazon/kindle-voyage/ and it fits in easily. We also tested this out with the Amazon Fire 7 Tablet packhacker.com/travel-gear/amazon/fire-7-tablet/ and this one just fits in. Hope this helps! - Rebecca
You need to start including dimensions and liters in your reviews and comparing to other slings. Important for people, especially petite women and real tall men, to get a sense of size. Also to know how much stuff these things fit.
I have the same reproach with every Aer product, their zipper pulls are great to handle but noisy. It really would be better if the material was some kind of soft rubber instead of hard plastic.
Hey! We currently have no plans to create a comparison video like this in the immediate pipeline, but I'll pass your thoughts onto the team and we'll check it out. 😊👍 - Rebecca
Hey - thanks for reaching out! We currently have no plans to review the Pacsafe Venturesafe 325 in the immediate pipeline, but it's on the list. Hey Daniel! Although we don't have this camera to verify 100%, we checked the dimensions of both and they should fit inside as long as the lens is not attached. However, if you're looking for a sling for your camera, something like the Peak Design Everyday Sling 5L packhacker.com/travel-gear/peak-design/everyday-sling-5l/ may work for you. You can also check out our Sling Guide packhacker.com/guide/best-sling-bag/ which includes a range of recommendations. Hope this helps! 😊 - Rebecca
I was just wondering if you could fit a Sony A6000 with the kit lens and manfrotto mini tripod into it.. These would be the only two large items that would go into the bag that I'm looking for. I have the chrome industries cadet which I use as my EDC when I need to carry my 11" ipad out .. but with this I would only need my cam and mini tripod.. would it fit ?
As always thank you for the great content! Could you review the moment Sling? Would love to see it how it compares to similar bags in your reviews. Thanks again!
You got it, Jamie! We currently have no plans to review a Moment Sling in the immediate pipeline, but this is a great shout, we'll check it out. 😊👍 - Rebecca
Another great review, thanks!! On another note, I’ve been looking for a lighter weight pack, can we add to your list the new Eagle Creak Wayfarer 40L, which only weighs 1.17kg (2lb9oz), And the new wayfarer crossbody bag for a 2 bag system?😀

Hey Bryan - we don't have the Kindle Paperwhite to verify this 100%, but from comparing the dimensions of both products, it looks like it will not fit. Hope this helps! 😊 - Rebecca
You got it, Ogotuwa! The Aer City Sling can be worn as a waist pack. Check out our full written review for more info on this packhacker.com/travel-gear/aer/city-sling/ and an image of this sling being worn as a waist pack. Hope this helps! 😊 - Rebecca
could you possibly review a really terrible bag and compare it with a quality one? It'll be nice to know what to look out for when buying slings or bags in general.
Hey Medsas - currently the Aer City Sling packhacker.com/travel-gear/aer/city-sling/ is our top-rated sling bag, with the Aer Day Sling 2 packhacker.com/travel-gear/aer/day-sling-2/ close behind. 😊 - Rebecca
