A quick video of Amarillo Texas. We were not planning to do a video of Amarillo, but was passing through and did a couple of drone shots, so we figured we would post this.
@@1776Based Amarillo sounds like a decent city. I'm sure there are some good public schools and not so good schools in Amarillo, given that the population is 200,000. The Amarillo unemployment rate has been one of the lowest in the U.S. during COVID-19. I've never been to Amarillo other than on I-40. The mediaun housing prices are lower than in the larger Texas cities.
Amarillo really surprised me with it's downtown area. Very classy and modern. It feels bigger than it actually is. The city as a whole feels that way. It reminds me of DFW! Best city in west Texas and needs way more attention in my opinion.
Being like DFW area is not a virtue. DFW area is the epitome of soulless, characterless sprawl with no geographical assets at all. Of course, Amarillo is not much better.
Lived in the Texas Panhandle for 5 decades before moving to TN. Love it there and Amarillo is the best. Always something to do and places to go. Thanks for posting. 👍👍😎
It is important to note a lot of drug traffic and human traffic go through Amarillo because I-40 runs right through the middle of the city. This skews crime statistics for the city.
That's not true at all. Property crime and violent crime towards resident that don't live near the highways are not affected by drug and human traffickers.
I miss Amarillo 😭. I now live In Williamsburg Brooklyn NY for college. Due to this Covid-19 problem it was better off for me not to go back to Amarillo and stay in NY. Most of my friends are back home from college with their families while I had to celebrate my 19th birthday with 3 of my roommates and a cat😂. As a kid I was so eager to leave Amarillo but once you leave you truly do realize how amazing and convenient the city can be. Don’t get me wrong NY is awesome but I guess living in Amarillo for 18yrs gets you used to the light traffic and small city vibes that I truly miss.
That’s crazy that you want to come back. lol lived here in Amarillo for about 20 years (but grew up in this area) and once I leave I will Never come back.
@@ApexxPredator1 Well I'm only 19 dude. All of my family lives in Amarillo. Plus at the time when I wrote the comment, the Death rates due to Covid-19 were increasing in NY. And there was this sort of negative energy in the city. Which really put me in a very depressed mood. But things are getting better tho. Hopefully, I will be back in Amarillo next month to stay for the summer until I have to go back to NY for my Fall term in college.
Oh, I remember seeing that cross in Groom, Texas :) Always on my family's way out at 5am on a road trip to where I ended up living now at 24. Haven't been back in 9 years and I always feel like a part of me stayed in Amarillo.
I got a problem with videographers jacking up their music volume and making it hard to hear what they say. If you aren't going to sing your dialogue to the beat of the music, why jack up the volume so much?
yep true, we were in a rush to do that video. Never really planned to do a video in Amarillo, but yes should have been more careful with the audio volume.
@@dellmiller5082 outside of town in some of areas. I don’t know many folks in agriculture as I’m a flooring contractor, but the smaller towns strings here have a lot going on.
@@TampaAerialMedia the food isn't that good for the price jusy a tourist trap now. Try some of the local food trucks or some of the smaller family owned joints. Tanks burgers is one of the best food trucks here with alot of amarillo heritage behind it
@@haleydiaz3764 They had to keep their distance because they have essential work to do. It is not pretending but get it done mindset. Amarillo is the place in Texas where basic wealth is created.
As an Amarillo resident, I caution you if have a trailer or items in your vehicle. The last few years criminals have descended on our beautiful city stealing trailers, ATVs, motorcycles, trucks, and breaking into cars in hotel parking lots.
So this is driving through Amarillo and stopping at crummy places on I40? That’s our history? I guess you continued down I40 to Groom Tx and saw the cross. Thought this might be fun to watch but found it very shallow and without any research. Really? Drive on!
