Wow that was great! Smooth perfect landing too. I am glad you are around to show us what is possible. I'm just thrilled when I can take off and land the Spitfire without going onto the grass.

As a zero hour Spit pilot ( :D ) I do feel it's a little harder to fly out of the box than it should be - there is a point where adding stability makes things harder. Be gentle with the power, though, that is a honking big engine - somewhere around 11 C172s all in one aircraft I think - and torque will try to steer the aircraft.

I called my Canadian Break an Airshow Turn. Nice to know the correct term. That and the half Cuban are a lot of fun in the F 16 over Nellis, dodging the A 10's and F 15's.

Excellent as usual Chris, the canopy back and door on first catch was really to help if take off was aborted due to a catastrophic incident. To allow expeditious egrese from the aircraft. No point in baling low no time for chute to deploy. Anyway loving the Spifire content Chris more please. It's fabulousl when flown in VR 😎👍

Another great video, the Spitfire looks awesome. Very neat positioning. I always find four point rolls a challenge to do neatly, Eg "in" an Extra 300. The airfield looks familiar - is it Llanbedr? Yep, cockpit open, iirc, 100' cockpit shut, easy access in case one pranged the kite😳😄😄 Did you say "No flaps for take off"? IIRC, Spitfires only have "drag flaps", used for landing, they were never used for take off? I used to know the pilot notes for a Spitfire quite well - sad man that I am🙄😇😄 The Spitfire looks less twitchy than Eg an Extra 300 - I love side slipping those in for a landing ✌️😄👍😊
@cgaviator
@cgaviator Год назад
Cearnarfon (link in description) though never sure how to spell it! The Extra is exceptionally twitchy! Like Formula 1 aeros! Ref the flaps, absolutely. Though I always mention flaps out of habit from other aircraft. Nothing wrong with knowing an aircraft inside and out! Thanks for watching
@musoseven8218
@musoseven8218 Год назад
@@cgaviator Ahh yes Carnarvon (several ways to spell it - my matriarchal ancestors were Welsh, French prior, and would be ashamed with my spelling, so no worries😇😄), I wasn't far off, I've visited both - I think I mentioned such before 🤔 Yes the Extra 300 is like an F1 car, lots of input to fly. My reactions are too slow now to fly all but a basic Red Bull type course, so I confine my activities to aeros in them. I love doing Knife Edges etc in them. Mind you "crop spraying" in a Pawnee with stall turns is fun too, easy to fly, not easy to fly well with a full load, it's acceptable to let the stall warning tweet a bit too😄😄😇 Thanks re the Spitfire knowledge - I was writing a novella with them in, so that helped too. Keep em coming👍😊✌️💜

Nice display! great to have a pro walk through one. Will have to go duplicate it in dcs, will be a good comparison. Was that the out of the box Spit, or the er, not so out of the box one? There's an interesting soundpack out for the DCS one - I did a quick unplanned routine to show off the external sounds ( think it's one of my few public vids, I'll not be rude & link it here! ), I think it has some promise but there's a couple of issues. Much like the FI one ;)
