Glad it could help. It's an expensive helmet - but it's light and looks great. Hope you enjoy yours!

Thanks for you video! Ended up going for this helmet in this colour as well as they had it 52% off at my local store! Was a nice compromise between the visibility I wanted while being a bit less in your face than there white options! Cheers

Congrats! That's an impressive deal especially for a local store. The green color really looks amazing in person.

What do you reckon with regards to the poc ventral, Aero ventral, octal and octal aero. Do you think the pre-spin helmets are value in at 50% off retail RRP, or is it better to buy the newer SPIN variants? Many thanks
@TheSweetCyclists
@TheSweetCyclists 3 года назад
It depends on your preference. The SPIN pads are similar to MIPS and add a little more safety. That said, POC still stills a number of non-SPIN or MIPS helmets that pass all the safety certifications. If you're okay not having the extra feature, buying a non-SPIN or last season POC helmet is a great way to save money.

How does this fit? I can get the small for very cheap but I am bang on the 56cm upper limit. Does it run small or on size?
@TheSweetCyclists

The POC helmets seem to fit like other brands we've worn. The size medium for our 58cm head has enough extra slack to handle winter gear. If you can, I'd recommend trying a helmet in person or buying it from somewhere with a return policy.

Hey men, thanks a lot for the excellent review, I really want to buy this Helmet for my daughter who does Inline Speed Skating but was wondering if maybe the holes in the back are too big. My concern is because in Inline Speed Skating when someone falls sometime unintentionally someone that was coming from behind may kick you in the head and my fear is that the holes are too big and a wheel from an Inline Skate may go directly through the holes in the back and hit directly the head. Would you say the holes in the back are too big for a 90mm-100mm Inline Skate wheel wheel to fit in? Thanks.

Interesting question. I'm not sure if inline skating has different helmet safety standards. You might want more of a skateboard / commuter style helmet (Thousand Chapter or Heritage helmets ) which have more rear coverage as the POC is optimized for high speed cycling. That said, the larger vents in the back are approximately: 70x50mm (left/right side vents), 90x40mm (large bottom vent), 70x40mm (tall vent on rear top center).

@@TheSweetCyclists Hey men, thanks a lot for the answer, the information about the hole size is very useful, the 70x50mm are not a problem but the bigger holes (90x40mm) are a problem. A 90mm wheel would easily fit in those wholes. I really liked this helmet but sadly I will have to look for another one, I think I will go with something like the Met Manta MIps. The reason I look for a helmet that has no big holes in the back is because my daughter already had an accident where someone kicked her in the head and thankfully the helmet protected her because it didn't have big holes on the back. Keep up the good work!

nice video! i have kask protone, and i want to buy another helmet. my options is giro aether and poc ventral spin, which one is better?
@TheSweetCyclists
@TheSweetCyclists 3 года назад
Glad the video was useful for you. We haven't ridden with the Giro Aether so we can't make a direct comparison but based on specs it looks like the Aether has additional ventilation than the POC. Assuming you can get both for about the same price, the POC Ventral SPIN has a more unique design and color schemes.

Wow, I thought you were joking! The last place I thought I'd see some POC gear is Costco. Don't forget to grab a chicken bake from the food court on the way out to celebrate.
