Why did it need the winglets behind the cabin where the Concorde didn't?

7.50. is the original prototype without winglets and all four engines between the landing gear. From 8.05 it's the almost totally redesigned aircraft.

@@saulruiz5811 Nope, Concordski had the Vr about 320 km/h and average landing speed of 300 km/h, according to its FCOM

As the video says, while only increasing the wing area by 1.5%, the canards increase the lift at takeoff by 20%.

@@saulruiz5811 I had heard that the Brits purposely leaked a faulty blueprint of the Concorde and that as a result, the Soviets had to scramble to correct the inherent errors with that canard. Don't know if that's true, but the idea is they were put on later as a result of that.
