One of America's greatest rock n roll bands? Certainly within the realm of hard rock. It's hard to beat the tight and groovin' rhythm section of Joey Kramer and Tom Hamilton, the twin guitar attack of Joe Perry and Brad Whitford, and the screeching vocals of the inimitable Steven Tyler.
They released 15 studio albums throughout their career. So which ones are great, which are so-so, and which are better left unheard? We're here to sort through it all. Jason, Kramzer, and Joe each rank the entire Aerosmith catalog, unveiling their lists from the worst to the best. At the end of it all the lists are averaged into a master list, settling the score once and for all.

Glad to see the trifecta for toys n the attic. Hard rock truly doesn’t get better when you’ve got prime Steve Tyler belting gangsta rock lyrics over perfect playing and production - a top 40 album of all time

Another discography I really enjoyed much than I expected, and I guess at least half of these albums could get higher ratings if I revisit them sometime.

I'm with Jason. Night in the Ruts is totally underappreciated.

Nice lists guys. I had Toys on 8-track. I like Jason's support of Night In The Ruts - an underrated one of theirs

Thanks for your indepth overview of so many groups. Even if I often disagree, I also often agree and these album rating videos have fundamentally challenged and changed the way I listen to and enjoy the music of many different groups and AeroSmith is one of the best examples of this. AeroSmith is a group I have actively tried to resist the appeal of and dismiss but over time they broke my defenses. I finally relented and realized how much I liked their music when I figured out that they were better at assimilating and delivering their own authentic interpretation of the swagger and groove of the Rolling Stones, which is one of my all time favorites, than any other group ever has in my opinion. Steven Tyler in particular has been outspoken in admitting how much the delivery of Mic Jagger was an inspiration for him when he realized that he didn't have to have the ideal image of a beautiful voice or appearance to make a great impact. The blues, honky tonk, rock and roll swagger, sensuality and contrasting sensitivity of the Rolling Stones were all distilled and delivered in a different way by AeroSmith, though they weren't quite as impressive to my mind, the facts are that few American bands ever were able to produce such a fantastic collection of songs and they certainly provided the Stones with some stiff competition in the seventies and a kindred spirit in rock and roll compositions that have been shortchanged by high browed and biased critiques that have degraded bands with any blues based inspiration. Hard to admit for someone so long biased against them, but the fact is they are an excellent band and their eighties pop songs like Jamie's Got a Gun, Love in an Elevator, Rag Doll or Amazing are almost as impressive as their rawer seventies songs are.

Your shows have really help me enjoy the music of AeroSmith and Elton John more than before because it encouraged me to explore their albums more in-depth than I ever had and I was surprised at how much I liked. I enjoy Elton John more but that was true before, so relatively speaking they both really rose in my estimation.

Rocks and Get Your Wings are my personal favorites, but I have no problem with Toys in the Attic being the consensus number 1. Perfect production, sharp songs, including my favorite, Adam's Apple. For Draw the Line, nobody mentioned the amazing Milk Cow Blues, which surprised me. I've never heard Honkin' with Bobo, but I'm guessing it was more of a personal project, than a commercial album. Appreciated your comments about the first album-solid music, but they were obviously working out their influences and establishing their identity. For Get Your Wings, the defining word is swagger-that album gets the closest to their concert sound of the 70s, which I got to enjoy a couple of times.

Agree with Justin on Nine Lives. Definitely underrated. They re-recorded it in NYC mostly live in the studio, when Kramer returned. The rock songs rock, and the ballads are meaty w/good guitar solos. Song for song, it's definitely better than Grip, Mirrors, Draw/Line, Hard Place.

ROCKS is my favorite, always has been, always will and if I had to pick a favorite song it would be Combination.
