I’m a single mother of 5 kids struggling to keep everyone happy and fed, and it’s exhausting when I’m trying to not be broken. An angel came to me in my dream last night and I woke up with this song in my head. ❤️
Omg I'm so glad I read your comment. I went to RU-vid to find this song because I had a dream last night and this song was playing in my dream so I wanted my wife to hear it. Then I saw your comment. ❤
When this song came out I was heavy into a meth addiction, and I could really relate to the lyrics. I am happy to say that I was able to "find the door" and I now have 7+ years clean and sober. I will be seeing Aersosmith in Vegas this year and Iam truly grateful that both of us are still alive. :).
I am now a cancer survivor, and this song gives me strength since you never know how you will find a way to survive the worst things. It is amazing when you realize that you have that strength inside of you. It is also amazing when you realize you can do it on your own.
I am a breast cancer survivor, and I agree that throughout that, we find and utilize our strength; it is by God's grace and mercy that we are here, today. Much love to you, Sister ❤❤❤
I speak Spanish, in my country we say : "there is always calm after every storm. We're all only human and there is not a single one of us who has not sufferd such "a fall" in life or has not been close to one who has fell. There is always a way out. There are always choises. And I strongly and permanently exclude the one to leave this world by your own industry. Because of all these I love this song. Congrats Aerosmith!!!
Almost 4 years clean and I finally hear this song for the true meaning Speaks volume for addiction and what’s its like to live it and choose to leave that world behind Goosebumps
The Lord brought me here to remind y’all he loves you always. Don’t ever think you are alone or that nobody loves you. He walks with us always, we just don’t know he’s there. Stay strong
I am 67 years old and I just need to comment that this is a brilliant song.I have never been one for classic, hard rock or anything relating to rock. When I heard this song recently, yes recently I am ashamed to say that I missed out big time.I play this so many times that I can now sing along . Well done Aerosmith 👏
This is one of the best hard rock songs ever written to stir emotions. In the middle, it takes off and makes you fly, taking your breath away till the end. Masterpiece.
Hope this doesnt upset anyone....This was the song i heard playing just after I woke up from an overdose a few years back....Inspired me to "try life again"....Peace and Love to all
Its hard....very hard. And once youve been "that" close and made "that" decision to end the pain inside its not like it doesnt come again...and again....In those times I feel I need something to hold on to....Not necessarily a comfort or happy thought but something emotional and real (to me)..that maybe helps to give some clarity.....For me music can soothe my soul (although it can also hurt too)....But always remember there are people on your journey who you can reach out too
+Jacking Knoff why not? Even if he is lying, which I highly doubt, it is still inspirational. It isn't hurting you or anyone else, and has done nothing but good.
Listening to this song this side of rock bottom gives it new meaning. It happens in the blink of an eye. Rock bottom is where the hero's journey always begins.
at midnight I am 11 years clean.. listening to this filled with extreme gratitude for the love and support that I've been shown, received, and that I've given back. This song resonates to the very fibre of my being.
Thank you our Heavenly Father. I was just moved to watch this video for the lyrics. I am big fan of Aerosmith and this is the first time I have been moved by the words of this song. I will use this song to praise my Lord and to pray for all of those who are suffering from here on.
wow, i was born in 95 and just heard this.. THIS IS AMAZING! not only music, also the lyrics! IT'S AMAZING EPIC! just like the meaning, life is struggle, life is adventure, each everyone has their own struggles and adventures also the problems, whatever the problems is YOU ARE AMAZING!
Yes it is...found this back in the day watching MTV...love the music & the message. Took Prince to make me see there isn't only just music for one race but the entire human race
Been clean from heroin/opiates for 7 yrs and this song really sums up my journey to getting clean. My mother is still an addict and I'm hoping she finally hits rock bottom so she can live free like me.
That's awesome.... Nice to see. I'm going on almost two years If it wasn't for God I wouldn't had made it. Bought a dime thinking it was H and it was fentanyl and od'd on half of the dime. So yeah dying for five dollars worth of dope was my turning point. I quit alone with God's help, cold turkey. Cigarettes . Weed. H and everything else that was near. Haven't been better in my entire life ..... Be proud of yourself. It's not an easy feat.
@chrisbailey9377 that's awesome to hear! Keep fighting the good fight! The only thing you need in able to get sober, is to be alive, so im glad you are here to be able to get clean for the last 2 yrs. That's amazing and with fentanyl being so dangerous, you really were given another try at a sober life. It's not easy and I won't lie and say being sober has made me the happiest person all the time, but at least I'm alive to be able to have a better day tomorrow. That's what counts ❤️
So many good memories growing up out in the country with my daddy and all his buddies having bonfires and muddin'. I miss those times hearing them laughing and blasting Aerosmith.
I'm hearing it. Despite the difficulties of everyday, we need to keep in mind that no suffering is eternal and no happiness is limited. I'm discovering it for myself.
this is the song i used to fall asleep to while i was in the hospital 5 years ago,it would calm me down and i would feel better. Its the reason i didnt give up.I was more positive and that helped me get better,I havent listened to it since then, i came across it accidentally now and its such a strange feeling listening to it again, just makes me respect and love life more
when i was a kid id sit in the living room with big headphones on and listen to this song on repeat.. didnt even know what it was about.. amazing.. fricken amazing
Reminds me of Mefistofeles (Satan) locked inside Dr Faust bedroom. He could only leave through the same hole that he got into and the snow had covered it. God had limited Satan. He has no leverage. Also the passage when Satan hits the floor reminds me of Isaiah 14 and Apocalypse 12. The pain means Satan was wounded with the sword of Truth. He can not be God and the Archangel Michael told him so. He was ousted from the presence of the Lord. He thinks he found a solution for him by finding tech to lead souls into perdition like CERN that is a giant brain made from every human brain. Look at their official video. They want to find out how brain is connected to mind and this led to the discovery of the particle Psy/J by Chinese Physicist Ting who won a Nobel prize. Those people had me studying those things in my youth and i had no idea what it was about. I would be solving systems of differential equations and writing thorems had not God saved me from Academia. Thank God for that. I learned what i had to learn just to notice how wrong those people are. As for "life is a journey not a destination". Satan does not have a destination, but ours is to be near the Love of God forever.
@@monicamir Great post! It is funny, I listened to this song as a child also and made up my own meaning and words to the song I always thought he said he was trying to go through the gate, but apparently he says pain. Either way, I felt that i understood then what he was saying and you too seem to understand the implications. He says that "the 'light' at the end of the tunnel may be you" which may imply that we have to pull ourselves out of the given situation but we can only do that by the mercy and grace of Hashem. So to imply that we are the light could be misleading, but I digress. The "blink of an eye" is a wedding term and the giving of the Torah is considered a marriage of sorts, for we wed to the spirit of Yah through his law, and yes his son Yah-shua, whose name translates to "Yah-saves". Ironically it is he who is Daleth (Book of Numbers); standing at the door/gate. Hence the wedding of the Torah to this world may be when the lamb gathers the 144000 and they are planted in the vineyard after been found keeping the law and commandments of YHWH. Epiphany is upon us all, it seems.
+Melinda Rhodes To me it was my attempt at recovery! It accompaied my for years on my headphones! Still today is one of the true soundtracks of my life! :)
Meguz Agar Agar and then realize how powerful this song was until I got into recovery. I just celebrated 11 years in December. I was telling a friend of mine who is also in recovery that she had to take a listen to the song and just listen to the words on it and realize where is Steven Tyler was coming from when he wrote it. That many of us can relate to him and his struggles.
when the moment arrives that you know you'll be alright ,gets me everytime the words are touching, and they have gotten me through some of the baddest things I've ever been through
I got this album at a thrift shop for free. I checked the back of the CD to check if there were any scratches, and there were many. So I asked the guy at the counter "Is this even playable?", to which he answered "Just take it.". It has never stopped working to this day.
It's amazing how God wakes us up right when we need to see what he's trying to show us so we can see his Light and Love so we may choice Life over Death especially when everything seems so dark and lonely. And what's even more amazing is being able to share this song when we recognise how this song says exactly that realization.
I just showed up late to the comments section....I am 54 years old and have listened to this song a minimum of one hundred times. Never read the lyrics. Anyone who has ever been hopelessly addicted to anything and is now clean and free of their addiction will greatly appreciate this beautiful song. Wow...it sure brought tears to my eyes.
Aerosmith is amazing there music has so many great messages in it that I am just barely beginning to realize they are really rock and roll missionaries. Best Rock group in my opinion of all time.
God is good, God is Love. John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made John 1:14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
Ive struggled with low self esteem most of my life. Been down some very rocky roads. I relate to this song very deeply. Its amazing when you finally see the light.
What a briliant and deepfull song. You can feel the emotion and the equilibrium between the voice and the instruments. The lyrics is fantastic, makes me think of that rough moments when you think everything is lost in your life, but all of sudden you can find hope and you see a purpose in your life. Amazing song, definately one of my favourite for sure!
amazing doesn;t describe, thank you God for the blessing of wild ol Steven Tyler and Aerosmith coming up with this amazing tune, it was perfect at this moment today. Amen
I just want to say that the song amazing ,has kept me going every day of my life since the first time I listened to it. the words are touching, and they have gotten me through some of the hardest things I've ever been through, so thank you Aerosmith for blessing the world with that AMAZING song ! And God bless you! No one will ever be able to take that from you!
Marla Neff I don't know you, but your sentence hit me, "the words are touching, and they have gotten me through some of the hardest things I've ever been through".. I know what you mean. When I'm down in the dumps and have nowhere or nobody to turn to, I turn to music. Its like it understands me.
Marla Neff It pulled me through a dark place in my life, too. Then, as the song says, 'I finally saw the light' and I found God and amen! I'm never looking back....EVER! And it's been 15 years.
I have a passion for all kinds of music. I have favorites, and then there's song that I have heard that get me thru everything I've experienced in life. good and bad. I love all types of music there is a song out there that tells every part of my life and the struggles I have endured. I would never survive without music. Thank God for the brilliant people who have the passion to sing about all the things that make us think about life and how we feel. Music is beautiful!
I just stopped smoking, and drinking alcohol! And I finally decided to read the lyrics cause I’m not English speaker! And I have to say that is amazing
First I would like to congratulate everyone that heard this song and it changed your life it makes me cry with joy for you! I went through that many many years ago I am 73 years old now and I still love this song and play it often and it means so many things to me in my life
I HAVE FOUND THIS AS AN INSPIRATION TO CONTINUE IN MY SOBRIETY ON A DAILY BASIS I LISTEN TO IT AND IT HELPS THROUGH THE MANY YEARS OF MY DRUG ADDICTION I NEVER FOUND A SONG SO RIGHT AND PERFECT THAT ALMOST DESCRIBES MY LIFE TO THE TEE
This song is about bouncing back from the depths of our own depression. We all can relate to this song. Which is why I'll say, one of the greatest songs ever. Agree, Disagree? Doesn't matter, it's fact.
just spent 7 weeks in hlspital after suicide attempt. 1st song I heard after I got of hospital. what meaning it has to me. I wish they would have played it while in hospital, its my mantra now. listen to it every night before bed.
While I realize this song is about drug addiction, it literally saved my life while I was going through a tough time. It was the story line of my life as far as I was concerned...in a abusive relationship, getting the tar beat out of me daily. The "when I hit the floor" line was the day I realized I had to get out or he would kill me...pounding my head off a concrete floor. "kept the right ones out" was the people who tried to help but I wouldn't let in. After I left, I listened to this song over and over and it truly kept me from going back until I was strong enough to do it on my own.
i do, still do..no band like this type since 2000, i mean its very rare to have a band with such a good talent like Aerosmith, bon jovi, gun n rose, metallica..it seem like already extinct
Im in high school, lots of kids dont listen to this kinds of music, but i like bon jovi, guns n roses, aerosmith... They all listen to like Drake Hotbling or whatever, some stupid crap, all made by music studio. But aerosmith and guns n roses, its a real talent
life will always bring huge storms your way....its amazing when "the moment arrives and you know it will be all right"......never..ever...give up..you have what it takes. ;)
Addiction. ..whatever it may be is horrible. .slave to it...glad I finally saw 'the light' after a few relapses...to anyone out there who needs it..Stay strong..you can do it!!! To quote Aerosmith I'm saying a prayer for the desperate hearts tonight xxx💪💪👍✌
Aerosmith is one of my absolute favorite bands ever! They are amazing. Steven Tyler's vocals are incredible!! Joe Perry has inspired soo many with his amazing and iconic guitar playing. No one who listens to rock music cannot deny either of these FACTS. Plus, their songs are brilliant. This is one of my favorite songs ever. Thank you for your time Oh, and by the way. Bon Jovi is my favorite just sayin
i completely agree, though I'd go as far to say anyone who listens to music in general can't deny that, unless they lived under a rock. I'm more of a metal guy but that's me being someone who takes his music seriously and likes to specify whats' what. Back to the point, everyone knows Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, and many others whether they know it or not,
As I was working on my job application again at the age of 30 I talked to myself: Life is a journey, not a destination. Then this song popped into my mind :)
Great song from one of my favorite bands of all time. I will put them in my top 5 for originality and longevity. I'm waiting for that next album to come out? If you listen to this song it has a lot of meaning and just might save you from a pitfall of hell!
My little brother and best friend died this week. I am sober and he wasn't. God bless you all. Love your real family and friends with all you have and keep them close.
