This is when I discovered Aerosmith, one afternoon after school I turned on MTV & this song, this video was on, I was intrigued to say the least. My mom came home from work shortly after & I explained to her there was this new band called Aerosmith & they have this really cool song called Dream On. She told me that she saw Aerosmith back in the 70's at the stadium 🫣
Every time that I look in the mirror All these lines on my face gettin' clearer The past is gone It went by like dusk to dawn Isn't that the way? Everybody's got their dues in life to pay I know nobody knows Where it comes and where it goes I know it's everybody's sin You got to lose to know how to win Half my life's in books' written pages Lived and learned from fools and from sages You know it's true All the things come back to you Sing with me, sing for the year Sing for the laughter and sing for the tear Sing with me, if it's just for today Maybe tomorrow the good lord will take you away Sing with me, sing for the year Sing for the laughter and sing for the tear Sing with me, if it's just for today Maybe tomorrow the good lord will take you away Dream on, dream on, dream on Dream until your dreams come true Dream on, dream on, dream on And dream until your dreams come true Dream on, dream on, dream on, dream on Dream on, dream on, dream on Aaah Sing with me, sing for the year Sing for the laughter and sing for the tear Sing with me, if it's just for today Maybe tomorrow the good lord will take you away Sing with me, sing for the year Sing for the laughter and sing for the tear Sing with me, if it's just for today Maybe tomorrow the good lord will take you away
Yeah there’s still music happening, it’s just as complex and impressive. Just because the music you enjoy happened in the past, doesn’t mean that you’re above newer generations. This music isn’t better, or worse than any music that’s being made today. You just prefer this music. Stop acting like the only “real” music is the music you happen to enjoy. Your personal preferences aren’t the objective truth, stop acting like they are.
Had this in the 90s on VHS, part of MTVs top 20. That tape, and in particular this song got played more times than VHS cassettes were ever designed to tolerate. One of best live performances EVER!!
When I first heard this song I was totally in a dark section of my life... When I managed to make something up for my life and listened to the song again, I found my eyes full of tears ... Till today every time I listen to this I start shedding tears... I just can't help it... Best Song ever ❤
I’ll say it again…. This is the best lyrical rendition of so many liives… and Tyler and slash are the kings of rock!!!! Original and talented , creative artists that touched so many of us ‘’older than dirt” “if ur over 65 you recall so many instances that Aerosmith was blasting on your 8 trac. The world was dreams and rainbows… and we thought we knew it all!!! I had not a clue, but learned I one thing don’t ever lose, hope and dreams!!!❤!
Way to go! Steve! Way to go! You are such a great person to sing in that voice! Your voice is out of this world 🌎! You had your dream come true to be a great singer with the best guitar 🎸 Joe Perry and the rest of your group in the band!
