Worked on audio mixing and color timing on this performance As part of E:60 Presents: Dream On, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith perform a powerful version of their iconic anthem. Worked as an sound editor on this project
I’m from Chicago and like most people around the country I was rocked by the Boston Marathon bombing and remember seeing this and just tearing up. It was a perfect tribute and you all did a fantastic job. This, coming on the almost week anniversary of the Highland Park shooting here in Chicagoland. Just don’t understand why people continue to hurt each other.

He is also a filthy pedophile. He was banging a 14 year old girl when he was in his late 20's. In order for 14-year-old groupie Julia Holcomb (Holcolm) to move in with him in Boston in 1975, Steven Tyler persuaded her parents to grant him guardianship. Tyler, who was 27 at the time, dated and engaged in drug use with Holcolm for three years until their relationship came to an end as a result of an unintended pregnancy that led to an abortion. At the age of 17, Tyler gave Julia back to her parents. To protect her identity, Julia is referred to as Diane Hall in the novel “Walk This Way.”
I’ve always loved the lines “every time that I look in the mirror, all these lines in my face getting clearer”. What incredibly prophetic lyrics for a relatively young guy to write. He’s a hell of a writer when you consider all the great songs he wrote.
@@cherie4868 awsome right? I saw them In Vancouver Canada in 78. The back up band was AC/DC. I’d guess we’re probably around the same age. What City did you see them in ?
Aerosmith was my first concert back in the 80s.. They were the best out of all the concerts I have ever been to. This definitely shows how much they have grown.
Ironic he was allowed to be around children, given he was having sex with 14-year-old groupie Julia Holcomb in 1975. Tyler, who was 27 at the time, dated and engaged in drug use with Holcolm for three years until their relationship came to an end as a result of an unintended pregnancy that led to an abortion.
I would like to believe that I've watched every video of Steven singing the song, but this one it's the most emotional one I've seen! Just awesome. In the archives a thousand years from now this song will still Rock! Just Legends!
+Ilovesimsfreeplay16 I Love that! To be near such God given talent as Steven Tyler! & Joe Perry! ohmg! That is cool~! Anyone that says anything bad~ Pay those losers no never mind! ~Jealousy ~ You were there making history! Awesome! & Thank you! For doing something amazing w/ your time! If more of us did such a thing, it WILL change this world.... May they be damned if they feel otherwise!
Good job! I sing in the Virginia children's chorus chamber singers, and 2 other choirs as well I'm a student teacher and preparing an audition for the Virginia Symphony chorus
Hey I have a question, do you still have the sheet music for this arrangement!? I am performing this song with a choir this year and it would be awesome if I had the actual correct choir part! Please respond as soon as possible ! :)
You n me both brother, there's a light at the end of the tunnel, keep your chin up,persevere, adapt and overcome and walk outta that mofo like a boss some day...

@@pratikvyas9626 Personally? As a Christian, I hope they all get to heaven, but it isn't my call. I also want us to learn from losses so we can avoid more violence like this.
I watched a live version of this song from 43 years ago, which was the year I was born. Then watched another one from this year, and the guy sounds just as damn good as he did was he was real young. I can't believe he can still hit those notes at almost 70 yrs old. Steven Tyler, you have one of the best, and one of the most unique voices in the music industry! In my opinion, one of the best bands of all time!!
+hitmhard Saw them live in concert during late "70s and early "80s and you are right. He sings just as well now as he did then. Joe Perry stills plays guitar great also.
Steven Tyler is on another level. I seen Aerosmith in concert in 1995 was only 8 years old and I have the most vivid memories Ive always had a deep connection with Aerosmith I will always love them.
True but have you heard the Post Modern jukebox reimagined version of this song. It's pretty good because it doesn't try to compete with Tyler but still holds on to its essence.
@@linus5171 I've seen GNR 5 times. he sings different now but he can sound like his old self when he wants to. he does it during certain parts of songs and then seems like he cuts back. maybe because he's saving his voice or he doesn't have the stamina anymore. he would sing a song with all rasp then not use it for most of the next.
i am in the choir that performed with them and i have to say it was truly an honor performing with them especially to honor the victims of this tragic event. steven and joe were very humble and it was great to talk to them as well
This is one of the most hauntingly beautiful videos I have ever watched and in fact I even cried. "Dream On" is one of my favorite songs off all time and I will never listen to this song the same way again. Boston Strong!
Every time I view this I get tears in my eyes. So emotionally well done: Steve Tyler, the Children's Choir and the Boston Tribute to those who tragically died.
The choir brought such a new light on this song, every single young man and young woman in that choir deserves immense respect, brought a whole new level to it
It's on a lower scale than the original. And just saying, no one can replicate a song better than the original if it's well composed and arranged. "Dream on" is one such song.
A career highlight for me, as I was with Steven when we got the call from ESPN, I pitched him the idea of just he and Joe, with the children's choir, and he simply said "that's it" - and the rest is history.
@@gottawatchemall1118 You just have no idea. The autograph is nothing. As someone who sang in a children's choir with very famous people, the experience is what stays with you. It stays with you forever. An autograph is nothing to that.
This song gives me hope in these times. The people I love are hurting & I wish I could fix it. I just want everyone I love to be happy so we can be happy together & that’s what I’m praying for & I won’t stop praying 🙏
Steven Tyler just gained a new level of respect from me, and may all those kids in that chorus NEVER have to know the pain of loss those in Boston suffered that day.
Pure PASSION in every word and note i dont know how many times this song has pulled me from the depths but this version is by far my favourite flawless note perfect this man is just unreal at his art All the very best to you Steven and all the band much love from the U.K
That’s always my question. How could you leave a dislike on something that was like for a charity event, run, etc.? They have to be so small of a person to do that.
Living legend whose voice reaches the depths of souls everywhere.. music lives in all of us because of you my dad still dances ....I still sing....my mom still smiles ...thank you
His soul was " Way beyond his human age...even at 17...I can't imagine the struggle of being born . As a "prophet ".....he did what he could with his "God given Gifts ".......he related to the entire world even at 17..maybe not enough seeing his selfworth.... But I will tell you this man's heart has been in the "right place" I ll be looking for Him as well as well as many other How honored to simply have a quick chat with someone who has has such a influence on our universe... I know your heart is true, simply because I am one of "those" that can see threw"... I know you "Steve" havent led "reverent" lifestyle ( who has) Believe here on earth we must...look in the mirror and dream on ...to walk the stairway to Heaven...not I easy trek but its those who speak to our hearts threw musical poetry that have made a large impact. Hoping to see you along the path, and up the stairway. We are all in this together, every person who is given the gifts...
This song. His voice shows all the hardest things life has to give and thrown at someone but he puts music out there include us all in and share the experience
I remember hearing this song in 1976 and it's been my favorite song of theirs since. I named my youngest son after him in 1990. Still my #1 got to band.
These kids are gonna look back one day and realize (if they haven’t already) they rocked this shit with 2 of the greatest rock legends in the history of this fuckin world, pulling off a legendary song
Such a great effort & tribute to those killed , hurt or otherwise affected from that hateful act. Still this video has almost 8000 dislikes ? Go figure.
@@trudehurd9685 That is good to hear because Steven isn't known for being the easiest person to be around. Not so much a prima donna as much as he's just on another level of existence. Then again, given how he has always been loyal to Boston, I would imagine this hit him hard.
I saw the boys at an outdoor concert at Nickerson Field by my dorm at Boston University in 1970. This was just when they hit the big time--I get nostalgic every time I see them.
Y pensar que escuché esta canción por tik tok hace una semana...y no me contuve y busqué quien la cantaba 😊😊... El tipo es muy duro o más bien la banda Aerosmith
@Mad Season Umm he is screaming. It's part of vocals in rock music. He does with with tone but its a rock scream. Don't get mad at him for calling it a scream. Btw his nickname is literally the demon of screamin.
Oh man... Got chills multiple times throughout this. The Children's Choir adds a really haunting element behind Tyler's powerhouse vocals that sound better every day. One of my favorite moments is 2:18. Chilling. Everybody on screen is just so good at what they do. Stay strong, Boston.
My God this video has me in tears.. I have been listening to Aerosmith most my life. I have had the privilege of seeing them in concert several times and even met Steven Tyler.. This is a Masterpiece tribute
