My wife and I were at this concert in Detroit, we are huge AC/DC, Van Halen , Motley fans, but when I heard Aerosmith for the first time I lost my mind.. These are the kings..
+Hey! It's Me! Probably because the entire band has been sober for so long and have actually taken care of themselves. Yeah, it doesn't "fit" in with the whole "rockin' roller" persona but hey, it WORKED ! Wish more bands had gotten a clue but oh well, we STILL have Aerosmith sounding as hot as they did in the late 70s and 80s.
+princessoffire1107 I caught Aerosmith live in 1978 with this same lineup here, and it's okay to joke about it now. The Guys don't have to take it seriously this far away from it. That night, it was if the band was given five different play lists. To hear five different Aerosmith songs at the same time, I guess they sounded pretty good - all 45 minutes of the show. Actually it was horrible. I guarantee they weren't happy about it, if the chemicals still allowed feelings. What we are seeing and hearing here is an entirely healthy and happy Aerosmith. I knew why there was something special about this band from my youth, so many decades ago. They pulled it together, like they never fell apart. Remarkable!

This guy Steven Tyler 69 years old and still singing in the same key as the original and still AMAZING. Most vocalists that sang this high in their prime would be singing significantly lower by this point. So, seriously who cares if he cracks in few times but its not meant to be lip syncing bubble gum pop dance musics, its meant to be rock and roll, real, and from the heart !! 😊
❤❤❤❤❤Dear God I Love this. There is no group like Aerosmith and no one who can sing like Steven Tyler. Only to have been there They are the best of the best ❤❤❤❤❤

❤❤❤❤❤ Steven Tyler and And Aerosmith have been the best of the best since they first emerged on the music scene. Thank God Joe Perry and Steven Tyler met andthe rest is totally Aesome 😊❤❤❤❤❤
I have had a nightmare of a year and I am getting out of the 🏥 for what I hope will be the last time today. These guys have been a faithful support to me. I toured with them several times and they are the best friends s girl could ask for. I will love them both forever. They are the best entertainers ever
i’m 14, almost 15, it’s 2023, and i absolutely adore this band. Aerosmiths passion to keep going is truly inspiring. Hope i can see them live before they retire!!!
You should really check out the Night In The Ruts album. It's one of my favorites by Aerosmith and has a special place in my old back heart. It was not huge commercially but to me it's one of their best. Of course, Toys In The Attic and Rocks are stone-cold classics. Permanent Vacation is terrific and was their 'comeback' album and Pump is excellent too.
Started playing Aerosmith songs when I got Guitar Hero: Aerosmith for my birthday many years ago. Always loved 'em since those days, and I even plan on seeing them live when they tour Europe next year! :)
Sammie Plante thats very cool. i fell in love with them when i was 12 and im old enough to be your grandma now and im still lovin them! mama raised u right!!
My older sister introduced me to this band in 1977, I was 10. I became a hard rock freak then and still am to this day...hard heavy rock n roll, that's it.

Its my goal to be HALF the power house and to look HALF as good my man STEVEN TYLER NOW! I'm 55 and I'd struggle, honestly I couldn't keep up with THE MAN. He's STILL GOT IT !!!
I have to see them. It has been a dream of mine for 20 years. I thought I'd never get a chance and they would retire or might pass. They mean so much to me.
I've been listening to these guys since the 80's. I remember getting Toys In The Attic when I was in high school, years after the release, and being blown away by the music. The songs that DON"T get radio play are the ones that really sound great to me.
Love Aerosmith! 😆😅 One of the Greatest Rock Bands in History!!!💜💙💛❤💝A true fan now..for over 42 years. Their music will live on forever in minds of their millions of fans Worldwide.🌏Long Live Aerosmith.😃
I am surprised to see Steven Tyler still singing like he did during his epic youth. wow! sounds exactly like original recording years and years ago. awesome!
thats why they are worth seeing not just hear in boston but everywhere unlike the jerks who dont play full out ... they should retire but aerosmith acdc and a few others stay awesome
@Miss Sunrise Well, Steves voice is still cool. But the Keyboard player is actually almost always singing along the high notes. That makes Steves voice sounding that well.
There aren't many rock bands that can do what Aerosmith has done over 40+ years. And Walk This Way is one of the first commercially successful rap songs (with a sung chorus)
i remember that interview! i completely agree with that statement too...they energy they all manage to create on stage is craaaaazy and without a doubt unmatched
So cool. Steven Tyler never Seems old To Me. I love Aerosmith. This band Stands out As One of the Best that doesn't Get Worn Out. They bring Energy every performance.
Joey was a machine. Shame Steven treated him like sh!t. He was always the annoying guy but still.. He was the machine in Aerosmith. How they locked him out of the studio etc.. Horrible. Now Steven Tyler has cancelled their 2024 tour because of long time voice struggles and I can only say one thing: KARMA MF!!
A great, great rock drummer. Wonderful syncopations and showmanship. Hes so good that even though he's sucking wind, he's somehow keeping steady time and energy. Joey Kramer is exceptional.
I was very fortunate to see them live 3 times before when they were still going strong as a band! Seeing them live is a much different experience than a video on RU-vid playing live! Their shows are truly one of kind that nobody can top! If I were to play drums just once for Aerosmith that would make most of my life complete! 99% chance that will never happen but if it did my god I wouldn't know how my emotions would take it! I'm 21 Years old and I've been jamming out to Aerosmith ever since I was 13! I will forever be an Aerosmith fan regardless of my age Aerosmith will live on forever!
Saw them at the Michigan Palace around 1974 or so. You could tell they had the “right stuff” even back then when they were just getting started. WABX radio station sponsored them if I got it right. Long time ago but they’re still rockin.
9-9-14...I was There Watching America’s Greatest Rock N Roll Band, Celebrating my 34th Birthday, and it was awesome ...now 6 years later I’m winding down number 40 rocking out to this concert on RU-vid...I still have my shirts and my ticket stub from this Awesome Night...Good Times, and Thank You Almighty Bad Boys Of Boston for giving me such a memorable Birthday...to paraphrase the immortal words of Wayne and Garth “I’m not worthy,I’m not worthy”... P.S.Happy 70th Birthday To The Legendary Mister Joe FUCKING Perry! 🎂
It's rare that I sit through a whole gig on RU-vid, but tonight I've had a few beers and this show compliments the beverages perfectly. Tonight is a good night. AEROSMITH ROCK MAN!! 🤘
Aerosmith has always amazed me. I mean, I'm 41-years-old, and Aerosmith was an old band when I was a kid (they formed 11 years before I was born. That's 52 years ago. FIFTY. F*CKING. TWO. 5 years before my parents got married. 1 year before my dad graduated from high school. Steven Tyler is 6 years older than my dad, and 9 years older than my mom. Yet they're rocking stages in huge arena's while my parents can barely make it up half a flight of stairs). Then when I was in my early teens, they released songs like "Crazy" and "Cryin' ", and they blew-up again. Even then, I was amazed by their ability to remain relevant, and release huge hit songs for SO LONG. Then later, they blew-up AGAIN with "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing"...then later with "Pink"...and every single time, I was dumbfounded by their ability to accomplish what very few bands can accomplish, and that is to remain relevant across several generations, and release hit songs that very much appeal to each of those generations, WITHOUT changing their style or anything about themselves (though I admit they do seem a bit more "shiny" these days...but I think that happens naturally as something becomes more and more legendary). They're truly a timeless band, and I respect the hell out of them for that. The only other bands I can think of whose style is timeless in a similar way, are Tool and Metallica...neither of which have released anything really BIG in quite awhile...and neither of which has been around nearly as long as Aerosmith. Green Day has "staying power" too...but their style HAS changed. A few times, actually. I respect them, too...just in a different way. As for Tool...I'll always love everything about them. And Metallica?? Love their music...respect what they've contributed to rock music...can't STAND at least 2 of the members, and I especially dislike Lars. They're just dicks. Sad but true.
killer show and Aerosmith is one of the very few rock bands that will play the lesser known songs and b-sides more so than any other band. Hell, even the crue only played songs off really 4 albums during their last decade of tours and don't even get me started with the boring set-list of KISS. I would give Paul Stanley all the money in the world if he would open with ANYTHING other than Detroit rock city. Long live Aerosmith!
Brad carried that band back in the late 70's when Joe would be too fucked up on H to play. It didn't happen a lot, but it did happen and he never gets credit for what he did. The dude is soo humble. Back then if you heard a mean riff it was probably Brad!! It was so great to see Joe get sober and become a better player than ever!!
@crashmarx Eddie Veder has a Rickenbacker that does that he said he played it once on stage. This was from a recent interview on the Howard Stern Show. Everyone should check it out its a great interview.
This video is really good in sound quality and camera footage-excellent. hats off to the band and film/sound/stage production…and of course all you Michigan Aerosmith fans!
Youre sooooo lucky. Thought i was going to see them but Steve's voice got the best of him. They rescheduled for 2024 Florida only to break my heart with retirement 😢
Kings and queens just kicked ass . Awsum lived it since brand new . It never got what it deserved . But hearing it again on this live just awsum .wow what memories thanks Aerosmith for all the years of rock and roll .
I can't believe I finally found a full recording of this! I was at this concert! My parents got me and them meet-and-greet tickets with Joey, Brad, and Tom as a birthday gift. I was so excited when I saw it was being professionally recorded. I hoped I could find the recording sometime, but I never did until now! Thank you!!
You're so lucky omfg 😂 Aerosmith was on Finland last year and my dad said that we were going, but then he said no 😭 I've wanted to meet them since 3rd grade of even see them live
@@chrischampagne4307 Unfortunately, no. Steven and Joe charge WAY more for their meet and greet package. I think our Tom/Joey/Brad package cost, like $350, tickets and meet and greet included. And those three guys actually came out and chatted for a while with the group. We spoke to a couple that did the Steven and Joe package. I wanna say it cost something close to a grand! And they said they basically lined up, took a photo, got an autograph, and had to leave. So it doesn’t sound like that was a very good deal anyway!
Today 08/02/2024 The Mighty Aerosmith announced the end of their touring. The "Demon of Screamins" vocal chords just can't go on. Thank You For ALL The Great Times and Memories Men!!
I watched this concert on Yahoo Nation the day it was televised live online for the world to see. One of my dearest friends (Stacy) worked with Aerosmith at this time as the tour lighting manager and she controlled the lights during this concert. I'll never forget this concert or Stacy. Through her I was able meet Steven and had the special opportunity to talk with him several times. ROCK ON AEROSMITH !
was fortunate enough to see aerosmith twice in the 70s...most memorable show was at the Los Angeles forum toys in the attic tour...third row seats right side directly in front Joe. second concert was cal-jam 2 aerosmith was the headliner and they were touring on the draw the line album to this day one of my least favorite aerosmith albums...awesome to see the boys still together and sounding as good as ever.
Charles Hanes ive seen them in philly in the 70"s at the old jfk, then in 90 and forward, i was all grown up and got front row and third row center seats for 4 shows. that was cool!
