Steven Tyler actually has TWO singing voices! His 70’s era and his post Permanent Vacation voice. He continuously switches between both live and it’s utterly outstanding! Nobody else can do what he does! Forget range, forget pitch, forget power and forget emotion! The guy’s a one man walking JAZZ BIG BAND! He’s literally pulling in instruments that aren’t even there and sprinkling them all over the place! It’s in his head and his throat is literally just highjacked for the ride! You can’t stop him! Saw him 3 times and my mouth fell to the floor every single time!
BHR Trader you're stuck in the radio Zone look past the radio and you realize this really isn't hard rock trust me I've been there somebody had to set me straight now and I look back at Aerosmith it's like a grown man looking at his toys time to rise above
Thomas Norton man why is your too cool for Aerosmith dumbass here again?? One would think that since you keep saying they’re weak and posers and shit you wouldn’t be coming back to watch this vid yet here you are
Agree except for a guy in his early days Robert Plant, or definitely Steve Perry. Yes Steven can still belt one of the greatest front men of Rock n Roll. Great tune here. ✌️💙
The whole performance is the best vocal lesson for all rock stars!!Steven is simply GODLIKE in this video. His voice at his best!!!Especially the scream in 4:59 is unfathomable!!!!AAAAAAAAAbaby!AAAAbaby!!!WAGIAGIAGIAGIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!SICKKKKKK
For those who are not musicians, you have no idea how perfect this song is. It works very well in all harmonious nuances. Steve Tyler wrote a masterpiece!
Nothing beats hearing this song live. Video just dosen't justice. If you get the chance to see Aerosmith live, pray they do this song because it's just magic live.

To say Steve Tyler is a born frontman & rock n roll star is an understatement. Most singers lose their vocal ability and are limited in their range after 40 years straight touring, drinking and drugging to the point of becoming self parodies. But not Steve Tyler. The fact that his voice is still in immaculate condition after all this time is a miracle.
actually Steve did damage his voice from drinking and the heavy drugs, he woke up one day and his vocal chords were bleeding. The little blood vessels had ruptured, fortunately he had a very talented ear nose and throat surgeon who basically cauterised the blood vessels with a laser. I have also hear that steven had nodules on his chords and this would have required another surgery to remove the callouses from the chords, (very delicate surgery ask axl rose or better yet listen to the before and after the difference is it really worked for steven Tyler vocal surgery gave him back a young mans chords! The moral of the story is that no matter how strong your vocal chords are they cant stand up to a constant lifetime of drug and alcohol abuse.
Rockerman pre Its like Gene Simmons once said. You can't run a marathon drunk or high. And Steve still sings better than most singers his age and younger.
+ Rockerman pre This is quite bullshit. He had a common vocal chords problem back then , blood vessels rupture is a very common problem in singers, even in singers who not use drugs or alcohol. It was back in 2006/2007 if I remember well, when he was already clean, the problem was not caused in any way by drinking and heavy drugs. It was caused by an extended and wrong use of the voice. Remember: he is a GREAT SINGER (my favourite one, forever), but he can not, academically talking, sing properly. His vocal chords are always been under a huge stress, and after 40 years it's quite common. He sings with a powerful throat voice and chest. And still, he doesn't have a "young mans chords anymore".
+whocaress no youre right but i mean nowadays almost noone can sing ive but playback.. but this guy and plant .. amazing.. just gonna fly away from here!
Pedro Henrique Pestana Felippe if you call yourself a rocker but your favorite band is Aerosmith that's like saying you're a lover of Fine Food and your favorite restaurant is McDonald's turns out you haven't been exposed to real Rock You might just find out you're not a rock or at all
you can put any band in the game, just the greatest can stand in the level of aerosmith, yes its mostly because of steven tyler but yeah...going deeper in rock knowing other bands dont put down aerosmith man
@@tomasgomes8793 it's not a matter of taste what you're listening to is commercial it's on the radio it's on the media I'm so far beyond that you don't know what the definition of real rock is it's not a question of taste you like this lullaby lightweight ship I'm an old man and I cannot rock you guys because you rely on the radio I hate commercial bullshit it's there to sell it's nothing it's telling me nothing I can't settle for this wimpy shit sorry dude look beyond the radio find the real stuff not this candy ass commercial bullshit
I've likely watched this perfectly mindblowing performance over 50 times and it usually will bring me to a weeping state of heartache by its pained wrenching conclusion. "I don't wanna die, don't wanna die, in paradise." Just amazing, Mr. Tyler!
That voice is the epitome of rock, and even live steve tyler never misses any of his trademark high notes, the mans voice gives me goosebumps each And everytime...🎤🎸🤟
One of the best live vocal performances of all time. I come back to this once every 6 months and it floors me every time. So much effort. So much feel. And such a great song. 5 stars.
Faz-me viajar pra lugares q nao consigo descrever..... Sensacional......
Yeah!
I saw Aerosmith in 72/73, at Vet's Memorial, in Columbus Ohio. 10th Row, Center, Seats!!! BEST CONCERT, OF MY LIFE!!! They sounded "Just Like" their albums, tapes, etc. I'VE LOVED STEVEN TYLER & AEROSMITH since 1971!!!!! ALWAYS HAVE,...ALWAYS WILL!!! ❤💞💕
Steven is an amazing artist and Aerosmith one of the greatest bands of the last few decades. Every song of them reminds me of a certain moment of my life and I can't listen to their music without feeling deep and moving emotions. Today I had the happiest new of the year because they're coming back to Argentina and I'm sure it'll be one of the best shows EVER. Steven I LOVE YOU so much.
There goes my old girlfriend There's another diamond ring And all those late night promises I guess they don't mean a thing So baby, what's the story? Did you find another man? Is it easy to sleep in the bed that we made? When you don't look back I guess the feelings start to fade away I used to feel your fire But now it's cold inside And you're back on the street Like you didn't miss a beat, yeah! Tell me what it takes to let you go Tell me how the pain's supposed to go Tell me how it is that you can sleep in the night Without thinking you lost everything that was Good in your life to the toss of the dice? Tell me what it takes to let you go Girl, before I met you I was F-I-N-E, fine But your love made me a prisoner Yeah my heart's been doing time You spent me up like money Then you hung me out to dry It was easy to keep All your lies in disguise 'Cause you had me in deep With the devil in your eyes Tell me what it takes to let you go Tell me how the pain's supposed to go Tell me how it is that you can sleep in the night Without thinking you lost everything that was Good in your life to the toss of the dice? Tell me what it takes to let you go Guitar! Tell me that you're happy that you're on your own Tell me that it's better when you're all alone Tell me that your body doesn't miss my touch Tell me that my lovin' didn't mean that much Tell me you ain't dyin' when you're cryin' for me Tell me what it takes to let you go Tell me how the pain's supposed to go Tell me how it is that you can sleep in the night Without thinking you lost everything that was Good in your life to the toss of the dice? Tell me who's to blame for thinkin' twice No no no no no 'Cause I don't wanna burn in paradise Let go, let go, let go I don't wanna burn in paradise Let it go, let it go, let it go Let it go, let it go, let it go Let it go, let it go, let it go Let it go, let it go, let it go (I don't wanna burn) Let it go, let it go, let it go (I don't wanna burn) Let it go, let it go, let it go Let it go, let it go, let it go Let it go, let it go, let it go Let it go, let it go, let it go
Adam Liberte Adam , i believe that too ...but i also can recognize great passionate artistry ..i dont "worship" ANYONE - and i can agree with you but its not for me to judge any band .
It's their money, if they choose to spend it on music and concerts, why should you care? Also, people like having things and enjoying life, why should our lives be bland and uninteresting?
Jesus is right, no doubt. However that doesn't have anything to do with this very high quality live performance here. In Fact, the toxic twins is one of the best examples that God does exist-they are still living and performing at a high level even after all the drugs they have done, its pretty amazing.
I’m a rock & roll junkie who finds little flaw in most of the upper echelon groups throughout history. I love The Beatles as much as I love Stone Temple Pilots. I’ll rock the Eagles and then crank some AC/DC. Switch between GnR and CCR. But I’ve always held firm that Steven is hands-down the best frontman/vocalist. His vocal abilities, in his prime, are unmatched. His stage presence oozes carefree confidence. And this video truly showcases that fact. Aerosmith isn’t my favorite rock band ever, but Steven is definitely my favorite rock vocalist.
Most people, including Aerosmith's biggest fans, have no idea what a complete and true masterpiece this song track is. It may take listening to 1000 times, but once you see the inner-workings of "What it Takes," you have this "holy shit" moment when you realize the magnitude of its complexity. Desmond Child together with Joe Perry and Steven Tyler created this magic and I literally feel sad for anyone who hasn't a clue as to what I'm going on about here because it means they have never REALLY heard this song for what it is -- A true musical masterpiece.😎
living proof that music is about sound and not appearance. He's not good-looking any longer but women find him irresistible. It's not how it looks like, people, is that fucking voice. What I gift.
This is the song, if your heart as been broken, it hurts!!!!, great song, the first time I heard this song I said WOW, I still love her but move on, and guess what ? I am not the only one
I just adore this man mr.steven Tyler love him and Aerosmith since i was 14 or15 yrs olx ❤Aerosmith was one of my first concerts ❤️ 💙 💗 😮WOW 😮WOW 💕 😊❤❤
Wow, this is my favorite version of him singing this song. His voice is so awesome. He's my favorite rock and roll singer, dancer and entertainer. And, it doesn't hurt that he's so dreamy looking.
